1. I'm really straining my eyes
and for the life of me, I can't tell what's in his hands.

Yes, the glasses look quite hip.

2. he really does look out of place
But I think the writer made a good case for his being a person from that time, just dressed in a way we would perceive as current.

These time traveler photo things are really interesting. I enjoyed reading the Charlie Chaplin one and this one, too, was a good read.

There actually was a time traveler photo from a C2C show. I can't remember if I posted it here or not. I wanted to--just can't recall if I followed through.

Anyway, the story goes like this. A D.C. attorney by the name of Basiago was, as a child, part of an experiment with teleportation. The experiments were part of a series done by the U.S. gov't. Basiago's father was also a part of the experiments.

Basiago was teleported back to the time of Lincoln's Gettysburg address.

Years later he runs across a photo in a magazine (some magazine like The Smithsonian, et al). He sees himself in the photo! The photo and synopsis is at this link:

The story he tells is in such detail. You can click on the photo to make larger, but even at that it wasn't enough for me so I took it into Photoshop.

3. At first I saw a camera,
Now I'm not so sure.
If I can get my Photoshop running on this laptop,I'll magnify it and look again.

4. you can just use Windows Photo Gallery
I think it has an up/down slider to make it larger.
