"Your Zodiac sign may have changed"
Apparently, we've been getting the "cusps" wrong:

thoughts, folks?

I'm no longer a Gemini!

2. Nah.
I'm a Virgo, even if that post says I am not. I act and think like a Virgo. I was acting and thinking like a Virgo before I knew what a Virgo was.

3. Western astrologers mostly employ the tropical zodiac
which is the alignment with which most on this side of the pond are familiar.

Vedic astrologers use the sidereal zodiac which calibrates our solar system's movement throughout the galaxy over the time in relation to the seemingly fixed zodiacal constellations . It backs the all the signs up 23 degrees (and change). Astrophysically they are correct.

However tropical astrology still aligns itself with the seasons.

Some astrologers employ both systems.

In a sense, it's a matter of whether one is looking up or looking around.

This Babylonion system is neither. It advances the signs and adds one so I don't really know what the heck they are on about.

So go figure.

4. Lame debunkers use this trick all the time
It fits their Newtonian world. They fail to mention that we are in Quantum times now. Someday, they may see that it's all based on harmonics compared to the moment of Spring. Till then, you're "stuck" with your sign. Ha ha ha. At least partially!

17. Makes sense because...
this would confuse me since so far I and others I've met match their signs to a tee.

7. Sidereal astrology - Vedic astrology uses it.
Edited on Thu Jan-13-11 03:58 PM by Matariki
I find both systems equally accurate - which is interesting in itself.

on edit - doh - that list isn't Sidereal at all.

squeezed in the 13th CONSTELLATION, Ophiucus
It has nothing to do with astrology.

10. WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT
Go to wikipedia and read about the precession of the equinoxes, or click here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precession_of_the_equinoxes

Around spring time of the time of Christ, if you drew an imaginary line from the Earth, through the Sun, and continued on, it would have intersected the CONSTELLATION ARIES. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac.

Around now, around spring time if we do the same thing, the astronomers would be intersecting the constellations around 5 degrees of Pisces.

WE ASTROLOGERS ALWAYS GET 0 DEGREES OF ARIES AT THE MOMENT OF SPRING. Astronomers don't.
The two systems which aligned during the time of Christ won't align again till around the year 26,000 AD. Note the parallel to the
Mayan Calendar.

The reason is that us Western astrologers adjust the TROPICAL ZODIAC every spring so that 0 Aries always lines up exactly with the
Spring Equinox. WESTERN ASTROLOGY HAS LITTLE TO DO WITH THE CONSTELLATIONS, while astronomy and Vedic astrology uses the Sidereal zodiac (according to the stars or constellations)

The two zodiacs are moving away from each other at a rate of 1 degree per 72 years. That's the explanation you'll find at Wikipedia.

Skeptics continue to tell us astrologers how nuts we are because of this one mis-argument. They don't know astrology and should give us some credit, really.

15. I know this is nonsense, but I'm feeling the need for change
so I just checked out the characteristics of my new supposed Libra status. I kind of like it. Balance, harmony, unity. Bring it. (Oh, that last may be the old Scorpio talking there.)

16. You're still a Scorpio
Yes, Libra has great traits. Ask yourself one question, or take the Scorpio dip-stick test:

How do you feel when you are betrayed?

Librans don't react to that question anywhere nearly as Scorpios do. :hi:
