Yikers--instant manifestation run amok!
I don't know about you guys, but for me, suddenly "instant manifestation" has hit a whole new level and it's freaking me out. So many things I focus my attention on, serious and not so serious, are suddenly appearing in my (3-D) life.

Fer instance, on the serious side, I was reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle to MG Jr. In the story, the little boy who befriends the mouse comes down with a fever and desperately needs some medicine to bring the fever down, which the mouse tries to find. As I was reading it, I thought "Oh no...this is gonna manifest..." I don't know why I thought that, because I don't usually fear things along those lines, but...guess who came down with a fever of 102.5 out of the blue yesterday afternoon? x(

On the not so serious side, while I was editing my novel yesterday, I went over a humorous scene where my main character's bra breaks (underwire snaps). Guess what happened to my bra this morning? :banghead:

These aren't the only two instances, either. I am not kidding when I say this is getting sort of out of control! As I most certainly don't believe in coincidences, I've realized I'm going to have to watch what I focus on from now on! Now...does anybody know if it will calm down or just get more pronounced? Is this temporary or permanent?

5. Oh man! I remember that book
We read that and the other 2 books (I think one was called Runaway Ralph) in the 3rd grade, and I remember wishing I could teach the field mice that lived out in the meadow behind our house how to ride a toy motorcycle. Good thing I wasn't instantly manifesting back then. My mom would have fainted dead away at the sight of a mouse (she was a bit of a wuss).

19. MG Jr. wants a pet mouse now
And I can't say that I blame him! I want a hedgehog, meself, but neither pet is imminent because of our two cats. They're now too old to chase free-running varmints (our retired mouser just sat and watched one walk right by her last year x( ), but I wouldn't put it past 'em to try to mess with ones in a cage, no matter how far out of reach we placed it.

We read Runaway Ralph but Ralph S. Mouse is out of print unless you buy the three-book set (and we already own the first book so that would be a bit of a waste). Time to visit Alibris, I believe...

6. In all seriousness...
The only time I've ever experienced this was when writing a novel. I got really freaked out and started to be afraid of continuing the story, for fear that the events would manifest (most of the things that occurred involved death during that time...:().

I wonder, though, if the intensity of the creative process (even over a period of time, not necessarily in that exact moment you're writing) -- the focus required in the process -- lends to manifestation in some way?

Has this ever occurred before that you recall?

Dang, I'm going to write a short story, filled with details of what I would love to manifest over the next few months, and see if anything happens.

:)

7. Okay!! There once was this lady named lildreamer316...
who lived in a wonderful house with her loving and healthy family.
In early 2011, she lost 15 lbs in a healthy and easy manner, and her family experienced a major uptick in their economic fortunes. Her husband was well on his way to finding his way after a period of time in which he was confused and angry. They made plans to go to his favorite music festival, Ultrafest; which is held in Miami on the weekend of March 27-29th.....

...to be continued.. :) LOL!

10. Manifesting through writing or images
That was an exercise we did in one of our classes.

There is an excellent book on visioning by Lucia Cappachione:

"Visioning: Ten Steps to Designing the Life of Your Dreams"

12. Oooh, that's a new one for me.
I never heard of that book before. Thanks. :hi:

I think there's something to this that I've never evaluated before.

It's one thing to sit down and -- from our heads, even though we think it's from our hearts -- write down our wishes, hopes and dreams through journaling, creating a dream board and the other ways we've all heard about, especially since Oprah.

:)

It's another when you completely immerse yourself into a creation -- like characters in a novel, and you embrace their thoughts, feelings, etc., and I assume visual art is the same in many ways as far as the immersion. This detached immersion (detached because it's not YOU, and you're just creating and not as caught up in the end result...less expectation) may have something to do with the manifestation process.

This is so interesting to me now. I'm really going to experiment with this!

20. Yes indeed
It's because of a change in brainwave pattern (ooh science! it's measurable! :D) I think I mentioned this before on ASAH, but it's worth repeating. Usually our brain operates within a beta brainwave pattern; when we are deep in concentration while creating (writing, painting, or any sort of creative pursuit), our brainwaves switch to alpha. Deep concentration, like deep meditation, puts our brains in theta and, even deeper, in delta. Oooh lookee I found an image:

And I think it's a FANTASTIC idea to write a manifestation story. I'm going to do the same thing, and try to keep my doubts out of it--doubt is a real manifestation killer. :hi:

8. that's actually very cool
...and yes, i say you find a way to use your powers for good, not eeeevil

lol, but there is a serious side too ... see also what the next step to the 'instant' piece could be... maybe kidlet being home sick could be a chance meeting in the store buying tylenol?

or
maybe you have a synchronous moment when you go get a new bra...

21. Now I'm ruminating on the concept of control
I mean, what made the things manifest that did, whereas other things didn't? Naturally I didn't want my kid to get a bad fever (which he still has durn it x( ) And there were other parts of my novel that I would have welcomed into my life and gladly, but instead I get the broken underwire? I mean, :wtf:

9. I never thought of it as "manifestation" but...
We have my Dad's car at our home now because my Mom's cousin wants to buy it in the next town over, and we finally have the inheritance paperwork done so that she can. I have been thinking about that all week and since I left the lady a phone message yesterday I see green cars just like my Dad's EVERYWHERE!!!!!

Also a lady at the dog park noticed my friends dog had a bit of a sore paw, well guess what other dog suddenly had a sore paw when we got home :(, weird.

He manifested in my life in'82 and we became engaged. He looked JUST like my drawing..........
Unhappily guru had feet of clay ( bipolar) and we didn't get married after all. but it was an interesting event!

15. No really - it's a great rags to riches story that beats all others.
You'll laugh, you'll cry! Best 'feel good novel of the year and soon to be a major motion picture of 2012! MG states 'The story just wrote itself. rosesaylavee's life is just so pretty awesomely amazing - such courage under fire and ingenuity in the face of so many obstacles - how could I NOT have chosen it as a subject?'

16. Of course....
Part of the brilliance of the story and the reason it has inspired millions is that "It rapidly became apparent that every single person in contact with rosesaylavee, including online friends and acquaintances, were also touched by the same gift of manifesting the life they chose. It was one rags-to-riches story after another, with life experiences changed to be ones of love, joy, grace and ease. It started an evolution of manifestation the likes of which we'd never before seen in the history of Humanity!"

as a conduit only for the billions and billions of dollars received by her only to pass on to the many friends, family and causes she supported. A model global citizen - the beginning of the end of thinking of money as humans had known it for 3500 years.

27. That doesn't sound like manifestation.
But that's mostly because I think the concept of manifestation is wildly misunderstood and misrepresented here.

Your situation sounds more like your intuition dragging your mind and life toward writing or other things that parallel events in your life overall. Or, it could be another little concept some call synchronicity. In other words, I sincerely doubt you manifested your kids fever or the bra snappage, although you have my sympathies with both.

Thanks for the sympathy; MG Jr. is better--home from school and still on the couch, but functional, just coughing some. Darned flu. And I was sort of happy to get rid of that ugly old (beige, boring) bra. Come to think of it, the one that broke in my story was ugly/old/functional (beige, boring) as well. Hmmm...

Usually, when I do creative writing, something I've written comes true to some extent. It started when I was 9, and still happens to me today.

You know, the idea upthread about focusing on winning the lottery might be a good idea! :D

This is definitely the place to be! Oh, this and The Lounge. There's plenty of us here over there being silly, too :P

I would like to say that this would be a very different world if aspects of my writing came true... ;)

I know Robert Monroe talked about things like that happening with him, though it was usually in the form of physical money manifesting, like one or two dollars literally under a rock, or even $20 showing up in a pair of slacks hanging in his closet. A pair that never went to the cleaners because they didn't get worn, and yet, if he checked every now and then, there was some money. I could use a magic pair of slacks like that, too...
