The Uranus-Pluto Square


On June 24, 2012 our global village will be hit by the first of seven squares between Uranus and Pluto. Astrologers have been viewing this combination for years now, and noticing with some trepidation that this crisis-oriented, shape-shifting combination is arriving around the same time as the end of the Mayan calendar. The influence of this Uranus-Pluto square will begin as soon as Uranus enters Aries on March 11, 2011.


Jupiter is acting as an enthusiastic forerunner of what’s to come. Jupiter’s entrance into Aries on January 23 coincided with the beginning of the mass demonstrations in Egypt, and with more to come across the region. Another breakthrough event that took place on January 23 was the appearance of an elaborate crop circle in Indonesia. The timing, place and plant were all quantum leaps away from the usual pattern established by the mysterious circle-makers.


Around the same time, astronomers analyzing a tiny speck of the sky discovered 54 new planets that could sustain intelligent life. Projecting that number onto the known universe means that there are potentially hundreds of thousands of earth-like planets in our celestial neighborhood. The Uranus-Pluto square promises not only political revolution, but new technologies, discoveries and revelations that will shake our collective paradigms.

A couple of weeks ago, I was trying to get a more specific sense of when the next major change would occur and got March 16. I kept thinking about what astro factors were kicking in at that time and then went...Uranus/Pluto square. Oh, crap...

The eternal optimist in me says that it will ultimately be okay.

Kind of like birthing pains -- they hurt like holy hell and labor seems to last forever, then the baby comes and life goes on. It's the complications that we really have to watch out for.

5. I think it will be fine too and I say that as someone with Pluto

hanging out on my Sun/node for a few years and will have this Pluto/Uranus square on my Mercury. I have every reason to take it personally.

We have been seeing Pluto in Capricorn effect, the falling of authority. Uranus will spark that and more. It is lovely that modern technology is helping in that. This will be a great time for sudden discoveries/innovation regarding energy too.

Not saying it will all be easy, change isn't. It will probably feel much harder for those who like firm frameworks and authority, even harder if you are those authorities/institutions with deep secrets you want to keep hidden.

The USA Sun will be hit by this square as well with it's 13 Cancer placement. That will be later in the square (that is exact SEVEN times between 2012 and 2015) The square will be at 13 degrees in April and December 2014.

btw Pluto last entered Capricorn was in 1762 and left it in 1778.

7. yes, the 7 times is 'the charm' square..2014 will be very rough

going, even more than now for jobs, finances, homes, etal --a crushing end to the America illusion of ceaseless growth and prosperity (for some) w/out checks, balances, regulations. Many get the 411 on this already and have begun to plan for a different future-downsizing their material bondage by force or choice. If you don't choose to move with the relentless energy field of upheaval that Pluto offers for transformation/renewal you are tossed around in the storm by its sheer force (Mubarak's demise is a good example of what ignorance and rigidity can result in on a large scale).

Pluto will transform. The form the transformation comes from or how it feels has a lot to do with our resistance
resistance creates it's own reality
Institutions tend to be naturally resistant and that lack of flexibility can make Pluto in Capricorn harsh

Honestly though I think that Uranus square can help this because Uranus can shock or surprise. When taken by surprise at times we momentarily are without resistance and Pluto might be able to take advantage of those openings
