Rest in peace, little Golden-crowned Kinglet...
Just found a dead baby bird outside my door. I took the Little One to the little grave area in my backyard. I don't recall ever seeing this type of bird here -- and I have a lot of birds. I researched and found it's a Golden-crowned Kinglet, as shown in these pics (yellow stripe on head). A baby.

No idea why I'm sharing, I simply am.

2. Looks similar to a group of birds
I saw around my birdbath last week. Robins, and those. (I have never seen the kinglets before, and it has been a good long while since I've seen a robin) it was a strange sight, I later described it as a "swarm", and they were literally there one second and gone the next.

3. Precious little being
I am so sorry the little guy didn't make it. That's something I HATE about spring, finding baby birds that don't make it. It hurts. Little innocent things dying like that.

4. What a sweet baby.
When in Colorado, I used to take birds I would find, to the mountains, and bury them there, after a personal ceremony. Thank you for your kind heart, OGR.

5. Ohhhhh
Poor sweet thing. I love birds (well, that's my air magic, I guess) and yes, it is always heartbreaking to find one that's fallen out of the nest or was killed some way or other (especially a young one).

6. awww, poor baby
the little birds like that tend to stay in large groups like mentioned above, we have mountain chickadees and they come in waves ...they sleep all together to stay warm, it's so sweet
thanks for loving the little being as he transitioned...no kindness like that goes unnoticed by Great Spirit

But if its any consolation to you OneGrassRoot I truly believe that if his soul chooses. He will come back again. Who knows what the lesson he choose to learn by dieing a baby this time was. But you can be sure its to his ultimate benefit even if it seems really harsh to us.
This little bird was one of the Lucky ones You were there to witness His existence, love him,and grieve for his trials and ultimate tribulation. What a loving gift you have givin him.
