Dream series has me stumped--help?

So last night I had the third in a series of dreams that makes no sense to me. I've had these three dreams about a celebrity couple (don't ask me which--doesn't matter). I am sort of a fan of the boyfriend and the girlfriend mildly interests me, but to this extent--?

In the first dream, they got married in secret (still called each other BF/GF in public). Not sure why they would keep it a secret, but all right. In the second dream, they broke up (quite a tearful parting). In this most recent dream, they adopted a baby (so apparently they didn't break up)--well, actually they bought a newborn on the black market, which was rather dramatic.

None of these events is true (okay, as far as I know). Am I seeing an alternate reality? More to the point, why in the world would I keep dreaming about these total strangers? Like I said--stumped. Any ideas? :shrug:

2. My grandmother used to say dreams were opposite of what was going to happen

The other day I told my mom I dreamed her neighbor died, and she immediately said, "You're going to be invited to a wedding!" Guess we all still remember what grandma used to say.

Anyway, that wedding dream was a while ago--maybe even last year--and nothing has happened to anyone they're related to yet (again, as far as I can tell, not knowing these people at all).

7. divine masculine/feminine

first thing I got was that these people in some ways represent something in your own divine masc/fem you either WANT to embody or have embodied in a past life and need to resolve it now...

secret marriage, well that can be a lot of things. I can understand if you are famous and need to keep life on the down-lo. But for you, has your marriage been kind of a 'friendly arrangement' in some ways? maybe there's a peice there worth looking at. also, what is the union of your OWN divine masc/fem look like? do you try to keep that balance in yourself under wraps in some way?

breakup - that's obvious to me...lots of peices that fit...tearful and yet 'necessary'...? also, where in your self is your divine masc/fem separated from your internal conscious dialogue? if they are together and in balance, they can work wonders, if they are disjointed and separate, all your relationships can be influenced too...

the baby- well isn't it interesting how a little person can bring two people together? except, what if tthey were not meant to be? or what of the baby really does belong to another spirit-family..? or what is the significance of your own child and how he 'belongs to you' play into this? maybe you are also playing out past life stuff in this piece as well...either being the 'bought' child, being the one who lost a child or one who had to find one by another means...

Thank you so much for that! :hug: Just as with Howler's interpretation, so much to meditate on.

I also have gotten an inkling as to the meaning of the three dreams since I first posted--a whap upside the head which tells me it could very well be correct. I need to go back and check the dates of the first two dreams; if they fit into the time frame of what I'm thinking, I'll post it. (I'm also asking Brigid, bestower of my dreams in Februaries, for confirmation. I'll see what she has to say about it tonight.)

9. This may be totally out in left field somewhere

and I don't know you or anything about your life or circumstances so I'm sort of going out on a limb here, but here's what come to me about your dreams.

When I read the first dream, I had the hit that two parts of yourself came to some agreement that they kept in your unconscious, secret from your conscious mind. The second part, it seems as if the two parts abandoned that agreement, and in the third dream, they "adopted" an idea/belief from someone else, and it's open and in your consciousness (not being hidden from you as before). What's interesting to me is that they didn't give birth to the new idea; rather, they adopted someone else's new idea. The status of their relationship is unclear - but it is clear that there's some sort of relationship between the two parts, it's conscious now, and their combined energetics resulted in the bringing in of something new. Whatever it is that's new is still in nascent form, infantile or very young, and needs nurturing in order to grow.

Don't know if this is helpful to you at all... but that's what came to me about your dreams.

The subconscious is a tangled forest, isn't it? :) I do agree with you that the infant represents something in its nascent form--that hit me like a ton of bricks as I was thinking about the dreams yesterday. :thumbsup:

As for the dreams in their entirety, as I posted upthread, I'm getting an inkling that they may be far more literal than I originally suspected. I will post the details later--gotta go out in a little bit. :hi:

11. Update: Okay, I think I figured it out

I was whomped with insight last night, and I was 99 percent sure I had figured out the series of dreams. I asked Brigid (she who sends me these) for confirmation, but I don't think I got anything last night. (I had more dreams but I don't remember any of them.) Still, I think I'm right. So here goes...

The male in the celebrity couple is an old friend I haven't been in contact with for a number of years. A little over two years ago, he started "showing up" in my waking life (sort of like a ghost, although he's alive). That surprised me, because although my friend does look sort of like the male, I don't look like the female (she's blonde etc. etc.), but whatever.

Here's the corresponding timeline: At the time of the first dream, about the celebrities being married in secret, my friend started appearing to me. At the time of the second dream, when the celebrity couple broke up with many tears, my friend started to fade away and I was sad about it.

As for the third dream, well, that's pertinent as well, but that's going to take a bit more of an explanation. When my friend appeared to me, I was puzzled as to why he was "visiting". We had a chat, and we agreed to meet IRL pretty far in the future. But that date is now fast approaching. And now I'm wondering if it might not happen. (No reason for this, just general apprehension.) Still, I am willing it with my entire being, because I want to see him again very much.

SO...in the most recent dream, the one where the couple adopted the black market baby, I actually WAS the girlfriend for the first part of the dream. In that part, she/I was going to meet the baby broker and got lost on the way. Symbolically, my meeting with my friend is represented by the black market baby. In my dream, the GF wanted a baby, and the BF went along with it (he was amenable but less serious about it), just as I want very much to meet up with my friend once again. He may be amenable but less serious about it, just like the BF. I don't know.

After the baby broker, who was Swiss (neutrality?), agreed to get this couple a baby, she was very insistent that they visit her with the baby--it seemed like she wanted to check up on them and make sure it was working out. I get the impression that the baby broker is Brigid, as she my patron goddess and my "sympathetic ear" for all this. Plus she tends to show up as a character in my dreams (especially in February--around her feast day). For those who watch Being Erica, she's like Doctor Tom in Erica's time-travel scenes, keeping an eye on her. :)

ANYway, when it was time for the couple to visit the baby broker, I was me again, a friend of the GF. I was sitting with her, waiting for the BF to get home so they could go visit the lady; he was late, and the GF was very nervous...and I'm getting nervous that my friend won't show up at our scheduled meeting. I was now the voice of reason for the GF, and I assume that I was my higher self in this instance. I went with them to the visit, and a good thing too. For some reason, the couple wasn't taking it seriously, although the baby broker lady was VERY serious. The couple was giggling together and tickling one another, and I had to poke them and tell them to be serious. Then the dream ended.

PHEW that was a long explanation--sorry about that! For those of you with the patience to read this whole weird thing (LOL)...whaddya think? Accurate? Off base? I'm sure I left out great ruddy chunks of backstory that would help this interpretation...glurgh now I'm confusing myself. So I'll stop now.

13. I went through this long thing where I had recurring dreams about Bradley Whitford.

Yes, Bradley Whitford. I used to tell people he was dream stalking me, because I would have a Brad Dream once every few months and it would irritate me. Eventually, I stopped having them.

This society is obsessed with celebrities. Sometimes, a meaningful person in our lives gets a celebrity avatar in dreams and maybe it's worth thinking about who or what that celebrity "really" represents. Other times, I think our dreams just randomly feature celebrities for no significant reason.

14. LOL was it during the West Wing or Studio 60?

Because I had a series of Matthew Perry dreams! They were around the last years of Friends, though, not during Studio 60, so I guess we weren't tapping into the buds at the same time. :)

But yeah, sometimes I can figure out why my dreams feature celebrities (in Matthew Perry's case, I liked his wry sense of humor) and other times, like this dream series, I have no effin' clue... :shrug:

15. Uh, it was Josh Lyman era Brad Whitford. I had this long, complicated theory

that I kept dreaming about the Lyman incarnation of BW because I was about to get involved in a bunch of political stuff. Which happened. And no, not because of the dream. So, yeah, I guess it's possible that even those most ridiculous dreams had some precognitive significance, but I doubt it. I was watching a lot of television at that time.

16. Not to threadjack, but I didn't want to start a whole new OP ...

... what are people's thoughts on 'theme dreams' that reoccur at random intervals?

Over the past several years I have had a variation on the same dream - same setting, same scenario, same person - even though the "main person" in that dream has been out of my life for 5 years.

Something I need to "work out", sure, but I can't identify what it is that needs working/what the Universe is trying to tell me. Also I find it very curious that these dreams pop up seemingly randomly with no rhyme, reason or prompt.
