March 2011 - Prayer, Light and Healing Requests Thread
Thank you, Celebration, for February's Prayer, Light and Healing Requests Thread!
I apologize for starting this if March is already up and will stop immediately if it is.
Funny, it was exactly last March when it was my turn for the thread and here we are again. Guess what? I'm offering the same thing - the oftentimes elusive Peace of Mind

Last year at this time, I was in a good place. This time, not so good. And I laugh at myself because when things are good it's clear to see that the journey through it all is the destination. Last year I asked to go deeper, explore what I am further and I'm getting exactly that - too bad it doesn't come with a palace, a banquet and dancing boys :D

It's so hard. But one thing never changed - the Dalai Lama spoke to this exactly last March - that we can achieve cessation of suffering, problems will not disturb our minds much, and we can gain inner peace. http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=101512463220075

So though we may be in a state of active despair, hope, disappointment or joy, I ask you to join me in helping our sisters and brothers by stepping into The Stream, Our place in the un-manifested where all possibilities lay waiting our calls and heartfelt requests for things ordinary and grand, for health, success, reconciliation, inspiration and cleansing.

Perhaps March, our first hint of spring, is a time for bona fide renewal of Spirit, as well.
"Serenity is not Freedom from the storm, but Peace Amid the storm." :grouphug: :loveya:

May all who come here seeking peace find it;
May all who come here seeking compassion find it;
May all who come here seeking wisdom find it;
May all who come here seeking healing find it;
May all who come here seeking strength find it;
May all who come here seeking prosperity find it;
May all who come here seeking joy find it.

(So be it; so be it; so be it.)

~*~ This or something better for the highest good of all involved ~*~

7. I feel weird asking for my financial situation to improve
but I really need some good vibes pointed towards my bank account. I've been out on my own for over a year now, & haven't seen any signs that my practice will pick up & my finances improve. I've got about $100 in the bank, house payment not paid, waiting on someone to freaking cut the check for fees I have already earned (including what I earned 6 months ago) so I can cash it & pay my bills. I submitted a resume for a job with the county, but heard through back channels that the person in charge of selecting interviewees has heard I have a "strong" personality & doesn't want anyone in the office who might challenge his authority (wtf, don't you want an attorney who has a strong personality?), & that might affect my chances of even scoring an interview. It pisses me off that time & again, someone like that crops up & keeps me from getting a job that I can not only do well, but deserve because I've fucking earned it. (it's why I left my last job; got passed over way to many times)

I know there are folks out there in more dire straights, but dammit, I'm tired of this crap.

8. I'm tired of this crap for you to, WolverineDG!
I know exactly what you mean. For over a year, my family searched for a smart, strong and unafraid attorney and prayed for that one special person would come. She finally arrived. Still keeping my fingers crossed because she's too good to be true.

Now, I'm Sending for the reality you want manifested matches your inner desires, that your energy will quickly attract the person(s) who knows you are a perfect fit. To have the person(s) immediately see your potential for a working relationship that's more than satisfying for all involved. And in the meantime, monetary energy to take care of bills and keep you afloat even after you've found the right position.

Let it Be for WolverineDG! :hug: :hug: :hug:

23. I ask that if you feel so inclined, you send light to Bradley Manning.
Below is a link to an article in Salon on Bradley Manning and the conditions of his confinement. It's not for sensitive types. But for those of you who want to brave it (if you haven't already) there are photos of Manning that could be used to send positive energy.

http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/2010/12/14/manning

Yes, I know Manning isn't the only prisoner in our jails. You could also try sending for the others, and attempting to send energy to those who continue to rationalize mistreatment of prisoners in these facilities (good luck.)

27. I'd like to request healing intentions to a good friend
of ours named Robin. Early this morning he was in a serious automobile wreck and is in emergency surgery. He is in very critical condition. He was my husband's roommate for the last 6 months. He has very elderly parents and a sister but we don't know their names. My husband just left work, came home and packed up to drive down to TN (14 hour drive) to get to the apartment and take care of the dog, look for information--if he finds it, call the family-- and then go to the hospital to see him.

I know how it feels to care for elderly parents and siblings, and the pressure of doing your best to keep disaster at bay. Bless your husband for steeping in to help. What a true friend and bless you for sending your good energy to all of them :hug:

Dear Source of Love and Life that brings comfort to all, We thank you for our many blessings, from the breath of life, to our loved ones, families and friends. We gather to magnify Eilen's and her husbands light to help ease his friend's discomfort and to please totally heal him, while providing for his family and pet. In gratitude and love we pray for the safe return of Eilen's husband. Amen.

31. Thank you so much
My husband found out our friend had been driving home from work--he works nights. He loves 'his shortcuts". Anyway, he missed a turn, was likely going too fast and he was not wearing a seatbelt. He was thrown through the windshield out of the car into a ditch. The emergency surgery took over 3 hours and he is in critical care. A social worker from the hospital was able to access his cellphone (security would let no one else do this) and contacted his family. His parents are frail elderly in another state but his sister was able to come after dispatching her husband to help their parents. My dh will be meeting her a the hospital this am.

I told my dh to bring all his medicines to the hospital so they could get a list.

The dog is doing great. She's thrilled to see dh. We don't know yet if the sister will need us to foster the dog until our friend is better. We still don't know the extent of the injuries/prognosis.

Some tips- Particularly if you don't live near family or are an itinerant wanderer who likes to move from place to place: please keep contact information in your wallet and car glove compartment (names and phone numbers). You should also keep a list of medications you take in your wallet as well. If you have any conditions, please wear medical alert bracelets. You should have a contact or friend in the area that has a spare key to your house (or have one hidden that they can find in emergency) in case something happens to you. If you have a healthcare proxy (which everyone should) please keep the little card in your wallet or a copy with your contact persons.

My dh arrived to Decatur around 10pm but the guy he talked to forgot to leave the key for him so he had to try and get to his work which is high security and risk getting arrested etc. It took an hour or so just to finally locate him and get the key. He was so tired. He had been going for 14 hours.

Luckily his work/employer was very understanding when he talked to them today.

Thanks for the excellent reminder of the prescriptions.

35. I request some light and forward motion
I have a project that I have been working on for some time.
It is a thriller that centers around government,dolphins and a music critic.
I am trying to get a film deal for this.
I have reached out to an old friend who has a big position with a big studio but she wont call me back - I have no reason why she wont respond.
It is also with a famous actor and writer and he is dark.
I think there may be some blockage - not negative but just resistance.
I am fully aware and embrace circumstance.
One of the first things my astrologer said to me a year ago was " what is this book you have"?
" It is Huge".
So I ask for your thoughts and I send them back to you from my big full heart ten fold!!
Thank you.

39. A small request, considering everything else that's going on:
Edited on Thu Mar-10-11 04:24 PM by BlueIris
I would like to request that everyone send energies, or talk to your guides or what have you, to get a moderator of a certain website to stop picking on me. No, this is not anyone on Democratic Underground. This is someone on another site who takes every petty opportunity she can find to be mean, rude or hurtful to me, in ways still considered to be justifiable within the confines of her role as a moderator. It's really insulting, and this morning one of her comments made me cry.

I've held off trying to get it addressed because a) sadly, the other mods have chosen to tolerate her behavior, and b) what I'm picking up about this person is that her life is about to collapse (health crisis, divorce, financial ruin, the whole nine yards.) But I really hate the hurtful remarks--and the effort she puts into making them. So, anything anyone can send would be great.

45. Asking for healing for my mom.
The doctors said a few weeks ago they've never seen so many tumors in the lung of a living person, but she's a fighter, and she's hanging in there. Her hospice worker told me in December she thought she might not make it to St. Patrick's Day. I was with her at the end of December and through mid-January, then my sister went up for a few weeks, and is trying to go again. I want to, but that can't happen until April. We've tried to get her here in the past year, but now it's too late - she can't make the move and is on oxygen 24x7. I'm just asking for you wonderful people to send your lovely thoughts her way. Thank you. :hug:

47. Light for all involved in a local issue
The other day I was bringing firewood into the house from the driveway. A large dog came trotting up the sidewalk, trailing a leash. I heard his owner calling him from down the block. I called to the dog, but he wouldn't come closer--just growled a tiny bit and jogged on up the street. A few minutes later I saw the owner go the same way, so I figured the dog would be okay. (Our street is a main road, but wide and residential, with very little traffic.) I heard voices from where the dog and owner had gone, but didn't think anything of it--I thought they were calling to the dog. So I finished stacking the wood in the mudroom and went inside.

But today a woman put a notice in all the mailboxes up and down the street--apparently that dog bit several people! I feel terrible because I had no idea that when I heard those voices, it was in reaction to people being bitten! :cry: And the people filed charges to have the dog taken away from its owner.

I'd ask for light for everyone involved--the people who were bitten, of course, but also the dog. I don't know the circumstances surrounding the attack--whether the dog truly is dangerous all the time or if the situation was unique. I'm afraid it's not going to matter in the long run; the dog is a pit bull, and we all know what happens to pit bulls when they bite someone. :( I'm afraid I don't have much sympathy for the owner, who was very relaxed about catching up with his dog. If the pit bull really was trained to be violent toward strangers, then the owner should have caught up with him a lot faster.

53. I have to admit that did cross my mind!
After reading the flyer, I was grateful that I didn't try to approach the dog. At the time, I felt a little guilty that I didn't actively try to catch it for the owner, but now I know why. I feel very protected.

Breaks my heart that others were bitten, though. I wonder if they were the owners of two small boxers who often spend a lot of time in the front yard of a house down the street (either trained to stay put or kept there by an invisible fence). My first thought was that the pit bull got into it with the boxers and the people tried to intervene. But I don't know that that's what actually happened.

56. the dog warned you and you were wise enough to listen and heed
Edited on Sat Mar-12-11 02:04 PM by northernlights
There is a good chance that the dog warned the others as well, and they ignored the growl.

You don't know that the dog attacked per se, but may have been approached by people too self-absorbed and disrespectful to listen to the dog's warning. Too many times I've watched people totally ignore both dog's and people's requests and warnings. I've gotten so tired of this behavior I avoid people a lot and don't let them on my property at all any more.

Not sure why you think the dog was "trained to attack." I'm usually pretty hard on owners not keeping on top of their loose animals, but if the road was reasonably safe and the dog normally very well behaved, and you mentioned he was leashed so apparently had just gotten loose by accident, maybe the owner was relaxed because he really didn't anticipate a problem? It is odd that the voices you heard sounded like people calling to the dog, as opposed to yelling in pain. Bites would hurt like hell, versus nips that are more yeouch but not YEOW!!!!!!! if ya know what I mean. If the loose dog got in with the boxers, there probably would have been loud barking first as the boxers warned the pit off. And a lot of loud shouting by the people trying to break them up.

Any way, protection and light to the poor no longer loose dog...may he or she end up in a safe and loving situation. Healing to the people who were bitten...may their wounds heal quickly and may they learn to protect themselves from dogs that threaten on approach. And hopefully things work out ok for the dog owner too.

What did the flyers say, anyway? Were they just warning to beware of the dog? Or were they trying to round up witnesses to their legal action?

57. No, no--I totally agree with you
Check my post again--I said IF he was trained to attack, then the owner should have gone after him more urgently. I always give all dogs, even pit bulls, the benefit of the doubt, and I am worried that if he is a well-trained, placid dog, he might still get put down when it's not his fault.

I heard very strenuous shouting, not friendly calls. But I didn't associate the noise with being bitten. It may very well have been; I don't know--it was farther up the street, and I was at the back of my driveway, far from the sidewalk, so I couldn't see what was going on.

The flyer said that on Thursday a dog that lives on the corner of our street and a cross street (the place is two houses away from me) bit several people and to be careful because the dog is still in the neighborhood, and that a complaint has been filed with the dog warden. There was nothing asking for witnesses and no phone number or other identification, so I don't even know which neighbor it really was (the one with the boxers or not). I wish I had seen who put it in the mailbox; although I don't know everyone on the street (it's a long street), I would have liked to talk to that person to find out what really happened.

63. my daughter
She is coming here from Tokyo tomorrow, sans spouse, who doesn't want to leave. She turns around and flies to NYC on Sunday in order to work at her company's USA office (at least for two weeks.....she will probably give her notice then since she is scheduled to move not in good commuting distance from the Tokyo office).

I think she will spend a couple of weeks here while her husband packs up their Tokyo apartment and moves them a bit farther from the center of Tokyo. Hopefully all will be under control then. But I really look forward to seeing her tomorrow about this time, so let's visualize a smooth travel schedule, as things are a bit hectic at Narita airport.

Thanks, all!!

65. Career-related vibes....
I just faxed my resume to one of the biggest astrology/New Age/alt. spirituality publishers in the country - they're looking for an acquisitions editor. I surpass their requirements for the position, and though I don't want to relocate I am hopeful they will call me, and if they do, I'm hopeful they're willing to consider the prospect of an acquisitions editor working remotely from home. Even if home is 1200 miles away from corporate headquarters.

Good vibes requested to accompany my resume. May the hands that hold it be receptive, and the eyes that read it see the light it shines.

Thank you.

106. Drinking lots of liquids.
I decided that I got adrenal exhaustion a couple of decades ago from stress. My doctor ignores my complaints about this. They are scared to death to give people prednisone because they think it will shut down my adrenals. I've told the doctor that I can be completely beddridden and non-functional without prednisone, and they just ignore me.

I think they shut down back in 1988 when I crashed from exhaustion, filed for divorce from a nagging husband, and ended up in the hospital with bacterial pneumonia caused by non-pathogenic flora. Now that sounds like a destroyed immune system to me. The idiots in the hospital couldn't figure out how I could have infections caused by non-pathogenic bacteria.

The respiratory techs kept asking me if I smoked and I said "No I'm not that stupid." I had to have my lungs washed out by my doctor so I would not die four times in five years.

Also, whenever I was on a round of prednisone, I would get an overgrowth of candida and then had to detox for a while afterwards. I have found that taking Zyrtec every day is a big help with allergies. Also, you can take 2 per day if you aren't getting relief with one. My allergies are so bad that I've been taking shots for the past 2 years and this has helped tremendously. In the past, I remember going thru periods where nothing worked and I had to drug myself up with benadryl, atarax and nasal spray. I remember sleeping all the time, too. It ain't easy dealing with allergies.

family is going through. My youngest sister, who is now 36, had tumors in her throat when she was around 8years old. It was a brutal time. So I'm seeing Eliza Mae the same way, as a 36year old woman with all of this behind her.

94. swift passage for my Angel kitty
I could not make her stay here any long getting frailer and weaker and not enjoying life. My Mother and I took her to the vets today and said goodbye with lots of hugs and kisses and asked her to come back and haunt us good when she is ready to.

:hug: She was a living blessing and truly a pure soul with purrs and cuddles for everyone she met even vets after her yearly inoculations which made it hard for the vets to listen to properly to her heart and lung checkup. One time the vet had to hold her in different positions finally bending over and holding her upside down so she stopped purring long enough for him to hear things clearly! My Mother said it helps her to think of Angel being in heaven with her siblings and my Dad.

108. You done good, ShallahK.
I saw "Marley and Me" over the weekend and was moved beyond words at the beautiful goodbye. What a lucky dog, I thought, because I'm sure everyone of us would like to be released with our loved ones there telling us how much we mean to them and how we touched their lives. What a lucky kitty to be allowed a smooth transition and an invitation back! We should all be so fortunate. :hug: :hug: :hug:

121. sometimes I think Angel was a hamster I had as a wee one
My Mom who was leery of anything rodent like loved Whiskers and always said she was like a kitten and actually willing to hold and pet her. My Dad would hold her, let her crawl on him and she would crawl into his shirt in a gap between buttons and go to sleep. She had a huge spunky personality that as Angel the kitten crew up reminded me of her more and more. As we have many cats now we are not planning on adopting more any time soon so we are hoping Angel will come and haunt us until we can increase the clan and hopfully meet her again in body.

105. A small request for my 11 year old son
He has applied to two middle schools and has been wait listed for admission. He has had academic issues and a slight learning disability throughout elementary school which he has worked so very hard to overcome. He is pretty devastated right now because he feels like all of his hard work will have been wasted. I really don't want to send him the message that hard work doesn't pay off especially because he has come such a long way academically. His test scores were poor even though he now does well in school. I don't want him to give up as he enters his middle school. Please send support and good vibes to him that he gets in and that we get a decent financial aid award as we could never afford the tuition. I know he would thrive at either school.

Sending for Spirit's grace and blessings to be upon you to relieve this financial situation quickly. :hug: :hug: :hug:

What a fantastic wish for your relative! I just think some of us will immediately see many things differently when on the other side. For instance, my husband's ex-wife was a very difficult woman, in our experience - even ensuring incredible sadness after she passed. Some things so mean-spirited that I can't stand thinking about them when I remember her. But she visited him in dreams and full-blown visions, always kind and apologetic. Now, it could be wishful, thinking of her as a better person. But really, to my dying day, I'd have never viewed her as a nice person.

I'm truly adding my light to your wish.

They found some fluid, but the finding isn't really consistent with her symptoms, so they ran more tests and are referring her to a specialist.

Good news is, they ruled out anything super serious and gave her meds to alleviate any pain.
