about this nuclear power plant thing, is it just me or...
is anyone else noticing the absurdity of building a nuclear plant on a FAULT line?!?? I watched a thing last night talking about how the U.S. has some nuclear power plants that are built on fault lines, and I'm thinking wouldn't someone at SOME point go, "Um yeah, that's probably not a good location"...I mean really! And then they showed a clip of BONER yesterday, (yes I know it's pronounced "Baner" but I refuse to call him that) saying that we should be more like France and we should have more nuclear power plants and we shouldn't let this thing that's happening in Japan deter us from building more plants. So he's saying we should build MORE nuclear plants in the midst of what looks like it's going to be the worst nuclear disaster EVER. Is he insane or just drunk all the time??

The ONLY thing I can think of that makes any sense at all is that more and more "over the top" opportunities are occurring now so that people will wake the you know what UP. Surely, at some point Mr. and Mrs. right wing conservative tea party will see something that triggers SOMETHING in them that will make them think "Hmmm, I don't know about building more nuclear plants seeing how they can destroy the WORLD if there's an accident, and I know property is dirt cheap on fault lines, but don't they have earthquakes along those things sometimes??" More and more I'm beginning to feel as if I am from another planet watching some of this stuff unfold. It just keeps getting more ridiculous by the day. Surely the reason for that MUST be to wake people up, we can't POSSIBLY be that dense as a human race, CAN WE???

1. Corporations seem to be very good at doing the absurd.
Probably because money trumps good sense every time.

3. Many have noticed the absurdity and fought tooth
and nail not to get those plants built, yet they were built and now in the case of the plant, El Diablo close to me, they are actually considering extending their licensing beyond 2024 yet the plants are outdated and should be mothballed even if there wasn't an earthquake problem involved. It really reinforces the thought in me that what, we the little people, want doesn't matter a diddly-squat to those who push this stuff through.

4. I think I read they need to be near a large water source...
NYC is built on a fault line...the whole thing is scary.

6. It hasn't happened yet and there are hearings that
are ongoing. Maybe the Japan Syndrome will make some impact.

7. That's just it, I honestly don't see
how it could NOT have an impact. Hopefully some common sense that doesn't have anything to with money will come into play! And better yet, people will WAKE UP.
