I AM - film/link
http://www.slashfilm.com/tom-shadyacs-trailer/

In the 1990s Tom Shadyac was one of the most successful directors in Hollywood. From Ace Venture: Pet Detective, to The Nutty Professor and Liar, Liar, he was making the kind of huge hit comedies studios dream of. Then Shadyac was in a bad bicycle accident that changed everything. His physical injuries healed but the experience changed his outlook on life. He sold his mansion, moved into a trailer, gave away his money and possessions and began thinking about a movie that would explore how we, as humans, can change the way we live and make the world better. That documentary, I Am, will be out in February. Check out the inspirational trailer and read the plot synopsis after the break.

2. Thanks for this
I first learned about his story from a feature article in Entertainment Weekly a month or so ago (looked for a link and could only find the PDF on the movie site: http://iamthedoc.com/press-dev2/ ). Been looking forward to the movie ever since. :hi:

Is it out now? And how can we view it? At the theatre? On DVD? Thanks...it sounds like something I would like to see.

6. Looks like right now
it's only playing in very limited release -- mostly west coast states (plus NY, DC and MA). The website says check back for more dates, so maybe they're testing it now to see? It looks really good though.

7. DH and I saw it in Portland in its first public release
It is a wonderful film. Well worth watching.

They're sending around the circuit to drum up publicity. It's selling out wherever it's been played. This is an independent film and does not have big money behind it.
