Actually, the whole dream was a good message for me, because it carried the ultimate Lost theme. I went to a fancy hotel in Hawaii where there was going to be a reunion party for the Lost cast. The hotel/party room was AMAZING, with huge windows overlooking a tropical garden (and, beyond that, I think, the beach). Inside there were more tropical plants, skylights, and beautiful lamps, so it felt like there was hardly any barrier between the inside and the outside.
I went with a former coworker, which was strange, because we had always had a very...mixed relationship. Sometimes we'd be allies, and sometimes we'd be at each other's throats. Other friends of mine were also at the party. While Sandy (the former coworker) and I were waiting for the cast to arrive, she told me she had bought something that had some numbers associated with it. She read off the numbers, and they were THE numbers. I wrote them down on the palm of my hand for some reason.
She and I were by an alcove with six elevators, and suddenly the display of each elevator showed a different "floor" that the elevators were on, but they were the Lost numbers as well (one elevator's display was 4, the next one 8, etc.) Then all the elevator doors opened and the cast members came out and the party started. They were all very happy to be there (it wasn't like a forced march/publicity chore or anything) and mixed with the other partiers all night--they weren't in a separate room or anything.
I had a really great time, I recall, and although Sandy (the former coworker) drifted away, I spent time with my other friends and other partiers and the Lost people. Then I ran into another friend of mine, Jen, sitting at a large round table playing cards. I sat down opposite her and she smiled and winked and gestured in a "look behind you" kind of way. I stood up and turned around and there was Desmond (sigh!)
The dream ended soon after (TOO SOON DAMMIT), but I realized that the whole thing was a visit from my soul family, as lots of the people I knew who were there had played pivotal roles in my life this time around. Jen helped me diagnose my thyroid problem, for example, and even though Sandy and I had a weird frenemy relationship, she did back me up at work when I needed it.
I figured the Lost cast being there was appropriate, considering the last episode and the last scene in the church. Gotta love soul families! :)
