A song on reincarnation?
The song 'The Highwayman' was written by Jimmy Webb after dreaming of being a highwayman chased http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highwayman_%28song%29

The singer tells of a life as a Highwayman, then a sailor, a dam builder and finally a starship pilot

Jimmy Webb performs it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LmD0TE41Xk

the version I first heard was when Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, & Willie Nelson sang it. I was shocked they let Nelson sing "The bastards hung me in the spring of '25" back in the 80s - here is a video of that version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VST2KKIYn50&feature=related

a site that posted the lyrics to the second version which is slightly different http://mysticwicks.com/archive/index.php/t-161427.html

another country song, or actually series of songs, imply reincarnation - Marty Robbins 'El Paso' Trilogy
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Paso_%28song%29

The first song tells of a cowboy in love with a girl who worked at a cantina that killed another man in a jealous fit, flees, and then comes back to see her again even though he knows it means his death. The second song is on the young woman's life, the third told from Marty Robbin's point of view flying over el paso and knowing where it all happened...

2. I'm not much into country music, but I have always liked
Marty Robbins, maybe it seemed more like folk to me. But this is a real interesting find. Thanks for posting it!

I've been a fan of all four of them for a long time.

Several of my earliest memories involve reincarnation.

I was crazy about an older man who was a family friend when I was really young. (Old enough that I was talking - but I don't know my exact age and I believed that I knew him from "before") He passed away, and they were afraid to take me to the visitation and the funeral because they didn't want me to be upset. The did though, and I remember seeing him laying there and then telling my mom (who was crying) that it was OK because he was gone already and he was ok. And from that point on I've always believed that we return. I have no particular belief about the mechanics, just a sure sense that many of us have been here many times.

When we moved cross country - again when I was a child - my mother was able to describe in detail a town that was ahead of us. She had never been out west before, no one in the car had, yet she knew every detail of what was several miles down the road. I felt she had lived there before.

5. My Dad was a believer
When he was in the Navy as young man he freaked out some friends on leave because he was able to describe the buildings in the city they were visiting before they would go around each corner. I think it was a city in Iceland. I wish I had asked him more about that experience but he was never a talker and only brought it up when I was talking about stuff I had read on reincarnation and asked if he believed.

7. I'm sure there may be other explanations in some cases
But for incidents like that, if none of them had any knowledge he could have been tapping into, it makes sense to me that it was past life knowledge.
