Today is a great day: I have news!

I know ASAH is going to get a good laugh out of the following.

I am a romance author. Romance Writers of America (otherwise known as our guild,) offers a yearly contest that is the Academy Awards of the romance industry. The unpublished award is the Golden Heart. The awards are given out at our annual conference in New York City this June. Today was the notification of finalists for the Golden Heart; I am one of them! http://www.rwa.org/cs/2011_rita_and_gh_finalists_announcement

Here's the best part: The book I submitted for this contest has had wildly divergent feedback. In other words, I wondered if I should ever submit this book anywhere. When I sent in my contest entry, it got misplaced in the RWA offices, and I was initially disqualified because my entry was missing. They found it, I was re-entered, and this morning, I got a call!

So... I'm celebrating. I want to thank everyone here who sent prayers and good thoughts for me over the past couple of years. This is a huge validation that I am heading in the right direction.
