A disturbing vision.
Edited on Sun Apr-24-11 02:58 PM by BlueIris
A few days back, I had a vision on the edge of sleep of, well, Death.

For the record, I keep track of these half-dreams because I almost never get intuitive impressions this way (almost asleep or while sleeping.) When I do, they are usually important.

Also, I almost never see a physical death personified. To me, the sense that someone may be about to die involves seeing a ton of purple energy around a person, or the sense that a person is fading away. Traditional or literal representations of death aren't normally part of my intuitive lexicon.

During this particular vision, I saw the classic "grim reaper" type of death symbol, a cloaked, faceless figure walking through a wooded area...carrying a baby wrapped in white. The baby part of this thing is what freaked me out the most. (A friend of mine is six months pregnant.)

I've tried sitting down and meditating on what it might mean, including the idea that it might not be metaphysically significant (just a passing image, say, not a precognitive warning about anything.) Results have been all over the map, although my intuitive sense is that it may represent the loss of a friend. Not just an acquaintance and probably in real life, as we say (not somebody I know primarily through online activities.)

Any insights anyone "gets" about this post would be helpful.

2. Kicking to keep this current.
I wish I "got" things more readily, to give you some feedback. All I can say is that the short description gave me a vivid image, but one with no real helpful content, just the figure going down a slope through birch or some other thin trees. Much light. Not helpful, I know. It's brave of you to put it out there.

3. Thanks.
This thing has me kind of going :wtf: because again, picking up spiritual stuff through dreams is a rare occurrence for me and nothing like this has ever shown up in my brain before.

4. My take on this
Is that these are archtypal images here... Grim Reaper, Primeval Forest, Baby in White. I would interpret it as you are fearful that something you hold precious, something new and undeveloped but with great potential is going to die. I get that just from the images - and how I would interpret this for myself.

Whether this your fear or something that will come to pass - you get to decide that I think. Maybe this is a warning to care for something or pay attention to something you hadn't focused enough on as you thought surely it would be around to do so later?

5. I also got fear of somethig
Anxiety/insecurity over something that is really wanted (to happen?)/in a new (pure) state/idea not working out, or maybe hopes being dashed at the start. I go along with the archetype images per other post. I get maybe "death" of an idea/plan/situation-not a person...(hope I'm correct on that)

6. Death represents change.
As you mentioned, you perceive death differently, so in this case, I think death might simply mean change. The baby your friend is carrying is going to change her life in a good way (white blanket). The fact that death was running with the baby in the woods suggests that this change will affect the way your friend relates to relationships in her life (trees represent people we connect with), which could also include the way she connects to you. A very powerful vision indeed, and if looked at from a different light, it is actually very pleasant. :-)

7. Sometimes dream images are not what they seem.
I dream of weddings when someone is about to die, so it took me awhile to pick up on this connection, like several dream weddings and several deaths before I went, "Aha!".

So, I'm thinking that your grim reaper is really symbolic of something else. Maybe it is about your friend's expected baby but the death as suggested on another post is a transition to another lifestyle and babies definitely change everything in a person's life when they arrive. It's good-by wine tasting parties and hello diapers.

It could just be a one time nonsense dream so keep track of your grim reaper dreams. If he appears again, you will start to see what message you are getting over time.

8. i get 'death of innocence of the veil,' or 'time to wake up and take responsibility'
death = death, baby = innocence, woods = the veil, transition of civilization to the wilds, the illusion of disconnection

it's the awakening of humanity to its greater responsibility in the universe. it's time for us to grow up. we're going to now witness the consequences of our actions (or inactions) and have to own up to our own doing.

we're going to have to be more responsible for our behaviors, and even our thoughts, now that greater positive energies are coming through. to do anything else will be downright dangerous; it's time to play in the big leagues, no more dress rehearsals.

this might also have microcosmic as well as macrocosmic ramifications to your life. is there anyone you know who is throwing out bad mojo into the universe irresponsibly? someone taking for granted their situation, no gratitude, no precaution, no interconnection?

9. Thanks for the insights, everyone.
Great stuff. I am afraid that a new relationship will be taken away, and also witnessing a lot of cataclysmic change in the world around me.
