I'll probably move over to FDL (well, more like actually post there, not just lurk), and check in at Wishadoo occasionally. And of course I'll be kicking around my web shop.

I'm very serious about this. After the Massachusetts betrayal (and considering other betrayals even here in Vermont, where the budget is being balanced on the backs of the most vulnerable so that taxes won't be raised on the rich), I can no longer adhere, even minimally, to the standards of this site. The only real options (aside from creating alternatives, which is necessary but insufficient) I see are civil disobedience and third party organizing (not that the latter is hard for me to do-- I'm really a VT Progressive Party member, though since that's a statewide party, I've voted D in national races).

If you message me in the next few days I will check for them; otherwise, you'll need to find me elsewhere, as I'm going to get rid of bookmarks, etc., and stick DU in the browser's ban list, to make sure I'm not tempted to come back.

Edited to add: and perhaps I'll fess up to my not-entirely-100%-new-age-friendly blog, http://hardcorespirituality.blogspot.org (neither is it entirely unfriendly: I don't think much of a lot of the con artistry and escapism, and that blog is largely about that).

Excellent stuff, I just read the latest post, about discerning and calling out fools (those who spread falshoods).

Wow I would never have known about it if not for this thread.

When we abdicate the responsibility to use our discernment for our good and the good of others, we are allowing evil to flouriish.


There was a lot I really resonated with, many observations that put words to things I'm not as good at expressing.
