Anyone want to take a stab at a dream interpretation?
I had this dream last night that felt significant, although I'm confused about the meaning. I did a group (venus invocation) ritual last night the intent of which was fostering the aesthetic side of creativity - it was rather strong energy and very likely could have had an effect on my dreams. Although I'm not getting a direct correlation.

I dreamed of a little girl, about 3-6 years old. I was looking for her and found her out on some steps with a man who had the look of a travelling show person from the 1800's. The steps and street looked like it was in that time period too. The little girl, who I had some sort of relationship with, was going to join this travelling show as a sort of philosopher-comedienne. I was wondering how she'd gotten so sophisticated so quickly and they showed me a sheet of paper covered in magical glyphs - something about them had accelerated her mental growth. I felt very protective of her.

Then I was indoors with the girl at some kind of doctor's office. Everything still had an 1800's, almost steam-punk sort of look to it. This doctor was going to do something to the girl to somehow protect her from getting pregnant. He laid her down on a padded bench next to a small skeleton about her size. I was very concerned about her getting sexually abused - possibly by the doctor but also possibly by other people. I was hugging her and feeling extremely protective. I made the doctor swear that he had good intentions and questioned some other people about him and the procedure he was about to do. He put something over her head and then did something that seemed to be taking fluid out of her - I saw it as a sort of animation - and it seemed to be something important, a vital essence or bone marrow. Something like that. I realized that the doctor was going to sell whatever it was that he was taking out of the girl and it upset me. But at the same time I think I understood that it would protect her from something.

Then the girl was in her late teens and we were together. I still had the same protective affection for her. She was telling me something about her hair - some style and color she was going to get.

1. Interesting!
I'm not much at interpreting dreams, but I had a similar dream on 4/28 about a precocious little girl of 3 or 4 who ran around causing a lot of "harmless trouble" - she was highly evolved, mischievous, very energetic, full of life, and everyone adored her. I was protective of her, but so was everyone else in my dream.

I've also had a lot of dreams lately about babies or little girls with red hair. There've been several times in my life, just before a big change or transition or switching tracks where I've dreamt of chubby red haired babies about to be born or being born. Your mention of a hairstyle made me think of that.

I wish I could interpret your dream, but it is likely about you. When I have a weird dream that baffles me, I don't think about the story so much as how I felt during the dream and that's when I usually realize what the dream/my subconscious was trying to tell me.

4. Thanks Liberalmuse.
I told a friend of mine this dream and she says that every time I tell her a dream I've had it seems to correspond to images she's been seeing or thinking about in recent days before my dream. Weird, huh?

2. Sounds to me like the girl is you,
highly evolved, who still may feel needs lots of protection and perhaps may feel has no one close enough to be a protector. I agree with you that the Venus Invocation slipped into the dream as the magical glyphs because you were conjuring aesthetic side of creativity. And the olden era seems to me like you may feel as if you're in a more backward time now in reality, and the way to express it is in an atmosphere that's long past because you're long past it.

In one sense you thought sexual abuse and the doctor was installing some kind of contraceptive, but instead draws an essence from the girl that he was going to sell. So to me, when I think of abuse of women, I kind of jump to the conclusion that it's sexual. I don't know, maybe the abuse that we as women undergo is all forms of sexual abuse from rape to the struggle for equal rights. But it seems that maybe you are deeply against or fear anyone taking advantage of your creative gifts and power that you're not up to protecting.

In the last part, the child is now a teen - not quite a child and not yet an adult. So she (you) is growing rapidly. Perhaps that's the point of the dream - that you are accelerating but perhaps too fast to control. But you are there protecting yourself!

That's helpful insight. I hadn't really thought so much about the time setting. For some reason the skeleton really stuck with me as the sort of haunting symbol of the dream. Can't shake the image and can't quite figure it out either.

The dream wasn't scary or disturbing - the emotion I felt was one of very strong love and protectiveness. I think the girl was definitely a part of myself and that you are correct that it has to do with my creativity in some way. I've thought a lot about how men and women express their creativity diffidently because of the link between sex and creativity (Leo!). For men, the sex act is done with orgasm, for women the possibility of pregnancy puts the act of sex in a whole different perspective. Interpreted as a metaphor for creativity, I think it makes the creative act more burdened with responsibility and even fear for women.

(hmmm, writing about this is helping me understand the dream I think. I've been struggling actively and consciously with my creativity for the past half year or so...)

5. Goodness, I knew that I was forgetting something.

I heard that dreaming of a skeleton could mean injury at the hands of others. More important to me, it could also be about something not being developed yet. Maybe the girl laid next to the skeleton was driving that home, and/or could be the taking away of her essence was slowing the girl's growth down or just downright impeding it.

on edit: A big YAY for starting to understand

7. Keep writing!!!!!
Whether or not it *makes sense* to you at the time - no matter. Just keep writing and journaling...eventually you will figure it out...just keep yourself open to the channeling which will eventually emerge and keep an open heart and mind and try not to censor or make too much *logical* sense of it all - eventually...I feel, it will all come together and tell you/express EXACTLY what you need to know and acknowledge on your own......in its own time ~

Layers. That's all that dreams really are - I think. Layers. Oh so creative layers that our own minds try to manifest and make some sense of. Peeling them back one by one in our own time...in our own individual, unique way...to eventually expose in such a - really, quite unique way when you really think about it....little emotional snippets here and there that we expose to ourselves....about ourselves...are actually quite extraordinary in their own little ways ~

Funny how the mind works like that - isn't it? Always toward our own benefit but with such a quiet sophistication about it all which is rarely acknowledged ~

Kinda cool - really. In the end, I think - it's all good ~
