Cool, and just a bit spooky
My partner Kath appears to have channeled the work of Johannes Vermeer, the 17th century Dutch master in one of her paintings. She hadn't even seen a reproduction of that painting for the last 40 years. We're both a little stunned. Take a look and tell me what you think:

1. Wow this is really cool!
Thanks for sharing this. Your partner is quite talented. I channeled Kandinski for about three years. I'm not much of an artist--he was coming to teach me about the various energies of form. He used raw form in his abstract paintings--lots of circles, triangles, squares, spirals. It was one of the most fun periods of my awakening.

2. Thanks. Yes, Kath has a remarkable talent
Her art is quite spiritual. She says most of it is channeled, though this is the first time a channel has identified itself so clearly.

There's more of her recent work here:

5. As you know, I adore Kath's work.
She has a clear connection to the other side like few others, in my opinion.

I love this recent turn of events. :D

6. Yes, I know :-)

She is a one-of-a-kind, and I'm utterly blessed to be sharing a soul with her. The energy tangle of our soul family is so delicious, and I always have this feeling that Kath sits in the center of the web, smiling like the Mona Lisa, while her higher self roars with laughter at the cosmic joke being played out by all of us. She chose such a startling set of challenges for this life, and then climbed them like Edmund Hillary climbed Everest. So it's no surprise to me that she made an agreement with one of the best painters in history to play this little game.O8)

If everyone saw life this way, wouldn't we all be loving life? Not that every moment of your life is filled with joy, but I am humbled by your appreciation of your particular divine comedy. Seriously, I will re-read this and keep it as an inspiration...

13. Someone else on FB said the same thing. I see it too.
There are lots of echoes in this piece, it seems.

The underlying image started its life in a fashion spread in some obscure European magazine from a number of years ago. It was fascinating watching Kath work on it. Every time she tried to take it in some direction of her own choosing it just didn't work. She had to back up and re-start from scratch 4 or 5 times. When she finally was moved to add the head-piece and add the fractal texturing, suddenly it all just flowed. The initial to-and-fro went on for a couple of days, but from the point when she opened up and did the headpiece it only took a couple of hours to finish it.

So much of her art depends on not thinking or planning, but noticing what's developing on the screen and responding intuitively. She has always said that the Muses just use her as a tool. The wonderful thing about digital art is how fast and fluid it is - that's what makes this kind of creative process possible. It's a lot harder to be "in the flow" when your medium is metal-plate etching or silkscreens...
