I felt a big disconnect.
When the Congress was fighting over the debt ceiling, and Obama was not fighting back. The disconnect happened about last Sunday.

I felt like I don't need to care anymore about Washington. You can't make fun of the conservatives, you can't parody them, because they are serious in their craziness.

I can laugh at their stupidity, but I don't want to worry about their antics.

I felt a big disconnect in my heart. Just don't worry, and do the best I can.

Anyone else in that spot?? I think it's a good spot to be in. Don't waste my energy on it.

1. I am right there w/you, MOL.
Feel a spiritual disconnect from all the circus atmosphere.....just more of their fear-mongering & distraction. I'm disconnecting from the corporate machine as much as I possibly can, too. Need to invest in solar panels to reduce dependence on grid & coal & nuke. Growing more food. Learning to do w/o......it will connect us back to the earth & space....which is a good thing.

The only way to defeat these monsters is to take your $ away from them. They have seen this coming for quite some time, that's why they have invested overseas instead of here. I say pull the rip cord on them NOW.

2. My political time and energy will be going to local
and state progressives who might make a difference.

I will concentrate my efforts on helping Wisconsin in any way I can.

Obama will have my vote. He will not have my money. There will be no phone banking, no door knocking, no signs in the yard.

They flushed our party down the toilet. They can sit in the crapper all by themselves.

3. My heart chakra to the TV -- connection severed.
All my plants are burning up in the heat,in spite of soaker hoses and timers used every day to water.
It's been 104 with a heat index of 115 or so.
It started hitting the 100s in the first part of June.

5. I'm getting there
It's all a bad novel and I can't stand to waste my time reading it voraciously anymore. The Republicans and their rich supporters created the Tea Party to destroy any hope after the election of President Obama, they were to break the people's spirit. I fear they may have succeeded, which would be why they are being allowed to fade away so far as the astroturf rallies are concerned. It's all such a big production, which shows how absolutely un-democratic our nation is, keeping up with it all the time is like beating my head against the wall.

We have to do the best we can. I don't think politics works in our country, big money can still get what it wants even when it's candidate isn't elected. There has to be another way because politics is a waste of time and energy in this corprotocracy.

6. I've been there for the past few weeks, too
I'll still joke about all parties because what's going on out there is just so totally surreal, but I'm not as invested in events anymore. It's time to focus on things that need changing in my personal life; the rest of the world will keep on keeping on until it all falls down.

8. Absolutely with you on that one
I usually have the news going in the background to keep in touch with what's going on, but not hanging on to every detail or talking point. Whatever I hear these days makes my blood boil. It's getting harder and harder to accept things as the way they need to be in order for it to get better. Maybe the anger is a necessary part of that process.

9. Definitely
I've been that way for a while, actually. It's like watching a movie. Or, you know, not even that, because I can get emotionally invested in a movie. This "real life" thing...very detached from it. (Oh yeahhhh that "detachment" thing!)

Now, that doesn't mean I can't feel compassion for my human family; it's just that, whatever happens, we'll adapt. Everything is unfolding as it should. In the meantime, I will take care of my family and my neighbors and the rest of my community, and try not to add to the negativity in the world.

10. I feel the same way too.
I have been detached from the outcome for awhile now. I also think things will unfold the way they are meant to. And I've been getting the message, "focus on, take care of and nurture yourself" for awhile now too. The entire debt ceiling thing was nothing but an episode of the ongoing fear mongering saga that takes us away from the present moment which is the only place that matters. It's very cool how when you detach from the outcome in any situation, you begin to see things through a different lens.

12. I've been there since the health care debacle.
Washington is becoming really irrelevant. I'm concentrating more on state and local issues. I think all the programs affected will have to be taken care of locally. For all those tax breaks the billionaires get, we are going to have to nail them with state, county and city taxes to fund the programs that we need to have a functioning society. California is already heading up to single payer statewide health care and politicians are confident it will be a done deal in 2012 and Gov. Jerry Brown has indicated he will sign it into law. Although it will operate within the federal insurance program passed, it will make the federal program pretty irrelevant and only a shell that lip service has to be given to it.

13. Here's a link that may shed some light on our feelings of disconnect:
http://spiritlibrary.com/meredith-murphy/energy-update-spaciousness-and-a-loss-of-identity

Change yourself, change the world.
Just imagine if WE are feeling this way, if millions of others are, too. That can translate into a loss of power (energy) for the puppeteers.

"Don't worry, be happy!" :hippie:

14. damn skippy
I feel like my immediate cleansing of self and getting my own life and tribe in order is the name of the game.

it no longer matters what the govt or wall st or any of those PTB do...they are worrying over the bones of a carcass that is long expired, it's called the 'old way'

yes, something happened for me too, i was almost disapointed when the shit *didn't* hit the fan, because I am so done with this old paradigm. But it's good that it is lingering for a bit, gives us more time to get our 'ducks in a row'...right?

 see you on the other side!

16. I have felt the disconnect for a long time.
I honestly don't think there will be enough enthusiasm for the next election.. Everyone finally sees the entire system for what it is,,,and it ain't pretty. We all thought Obama would be the one, you know, but it's not just him....I feel there are only a select few, a handful, that could
be what we really need.

Seriously. Think about what kind of person would poison a population(s)'s food supplies. :scared:

23. Ah but we have the Internet for information.
We can surf voraciously for health information, and make our own decisions. The hippies brought organic farming to the nation's attention. Now we have what used to be called health food stores, and they are not weirdoes, they are mainstream.

I'd investigate Ayurvedic (Indian) medicine and acupuncture (Chinese) medicine, since they have been trying their systems out on millions of people for several thousand years.

I remember when President Nixon went to China, and we saw pictures of a young woman sitting up, after surgery to remove a huge ovarian cyst, smiling. She was awake during the operation and they had used needles for anesthesia. We in the West were stunned. We had no idea that you could do that.

25. We need to be proactive about our health
I think that's the last thing they want, for people to take care of themselves and really try to stay healthy so that they are not clouded by illnesses to the point of helplessness. The way our food system is set up, this is difficult to do without using caution. The system is rigged to cause heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and so on. When I pick up a can of supposedly plain kidney beans in the grocery store and high fructose corn syrup has been added there is a MAJOR problem with food processing.

28. absolutely
My sister and brother-in-law raise heritage breed chickens and they told me that the chickens raised to grow up so fat and quick will literally die of a heart attack from their fat if not slaughtered as soon as possible for food. No way that sort of thing is natural.

27. Market going south today...
So while some are wringing their hands, i am hoping the richest of the rich feel some kind of 'bite' today...let it go,
my new motto "tank, baby, tank"

old paradigm told us to work hard and save for the future, now that most of that security is gone...it's obvious that new paradigm is happening

maybe the debt deal was a moot point, and the economy is gonna crumble anyway?
