1. The repubs would never go for it.

The idea is not to identify voters, it is to suppress the vote. They want to make it difficult and expensive to get the ID's. Fewer poor people will vote that way. If they issue voter registration cards to everyone, with pictures, it defeats their purpose.

Maybe, if very popular and well-know Democrats in some states sponsored a bill with your idea, it might work. It would call the bluff of the vote-suppressing GOPers. But I don't think it would work everywhere.

2. That's my point. Why are we letting the Repukes even

make this an issue. When we don't "nip in the bud" these minor & unnecessary "problems" they throw out, then they become BIG deals in the media & the ignorant (Teabagger types) buy into it as some big problem.

Like in fencing, or chess, simply & immediately counter these ridiculous proposals. They only become BIG problems if Dems don't deal w/them swiftly. It would also make them look very foolish, which works to our advantage, too.
I just don't understand why Dems don't do this. :shrug:
