Amanda's Astrology Newsletter--August transits

We have some pretty dicey planet aspects during the first half of this month. The main thing to remember is that right now Mercury is retrograde in a prolonged opposition to Neptune. This is not a good time to make important decisions. The reason for this is that information is hard to get. And, because of the Neptune opposition, some people are not very honest or you may simply not be thinking clearly. Plus misunderstandings are in the mix. Conduct research this month so you can get things moving in September.

The second biggie is a Grand Cross as Mars in Cancer squares Uranus, opposes Pluto and squares Saturn. Yikes! When government talks about grid-lock, this is what the astro pattern looks like. People work at cross-purposes and in general a Grand Cross reflects a contentious environment. If you can wait until the second half of the month to approach difficult subjects, you are likely to have a more receptive ear.

The third thing to keep in mind is that solar flares just reached Earth. If you are feeling a bit high strung or emotional or distracted, take time to relax, don't act on anything impulsively, and take long deep breaths to calm your nervous system. For those of you who are familiar with my book The Power of Receiving, you know one of my favorite mottos is "Receive Everything-Decide Later."

Now, that said - astrological information is not meant to make us hide under the bed! If you can add sanity and non-reactivity to the world, you will help us all. This is a hard-working time and many of you will succeed in what you are doing because you are not afraid of hard work and are emotionally mature -- and have good transiting aspects to your birth chart. For those of you who are having a difficult time in today's topsy-turvy world, do what you can to alleviate stress for yourself and for others.

The last half of August brings relief and those of you who apply yourself early in the month will gain rewards later in the month.
