They did a group of "scientific" tests at the beginning of the show and the psychics performed poorly at them, Huh? What's new about that? Everybody knows this phenomena does not respond consistently to the scientific method and that's why it's a mystery, intriguing, and why they're even doing the show in the first place.
The way they set up these "tests" are not the way psychics work. An example is the test with the envelopes and the hand print photocopies. In this case, the psychic was not allowed to touch the photocopies or the hands. She said that she wasn't surprised the results were poor as she was unable to use her sense of touch. (Well, then, why did she go through with this "experiment"?
There was one person who sensed the hostile attitude toward psychics and said she was uncomfortable with the way questions were being asked. She asked when was the interview going to be over? I don't know if she was a psychic or someone knowledgeable about the field, but she definitely sensed them out.
It's too bad, but this was a program produced by people who don't know very much about the field.
At the end of the show, another reporter was given quite a bit of information by two separate psychics. This information was not available via a Google search or any other means. One of the psychics is a young mother. She knew right away that the reporter's mother had already crossed over, she was able to get very close to the name, she guessed the "character" of the mother (very "matriarchal"), and she had a message from the mother to her reporter son. It was obvious that the reporter was very touched by this contact.
Cher
oh and p.s. They had to make the point that the young mother psychic (mentioned in last para) gets $500 an hour for her work.
