Sacred geometry fans here should like this post
It is about using the fibonacci patterns in trees for a solar collector........this by a seventh grader!

I'm sure that most of you know that the fibonacci series is based on the golden ratio, which is embedded in...............

THE DODECAHEDRON............

See why I am forever attached to it, LOL.

1. Just read that, too, Celebration!

Kids can do amazing things if they are not crippled by violence, drugs, poor home lives, & poverty. I suspect this young man has a stable home life & lots of parental support. I would love to see that he attends public school, but haven't seen where he goes to school. He may very well be home-schooled by educated parents. We need to offer kids more than sports & video games as things that are fun & interesting.

Anyway, he is most definitely SPECIAL. What an inspiration!

Perhaps Sacred Geometry will go mainstream with stories like this!

Here's a link to the winners & their interviews:

Nice to see how they are inspired BY Nature FOR Nature & the rest of the planet. :web:

He does go to public school!

2. you must have advanced search engine skills!!
That is cool! I sent my kids to public school and their environment would have been encouraging for creative work like this, although they didn't seem to notice the fibonacci pattern in tree limbs, LOL, much less show an interest in solar panels.

But I loved what he said,

1. Where did you get the inspiration for your expedition?

"That's an easy question. I received the inspiration for my expedition from nature. My research project studied the complex design of trees and how they are more efficient than humans in collecting solar energy.

The idea came in a flash

by looking at tree branches and suddenly observing that there was a pattern in the natural design. The answer to the riddle was there for everyone to see. As I learned and experimented more, nature inspired me to think of useful ways to help save the environment by creating a new way of arranging solar panels. My dad also inspired me. He helped me create a budget and organize my project, and he encouraged me never to give up."

I highlighted the important concept here. We don't need to be force feeding facts to kids. We need to support their "flashes" of inspiration.

I remember one time when I was listening to Coast to Coast, and an elderly scientist called in. In his former working life he had spent a lot of time on more efficient energy systems and he had worked on something in a specific geometric pattern that was so efficient that it maybe was breaking known physics concepts on preservation of energy, close to tapping into the zero point field. However, he was visited by some government spooks and was told to shut down that method of research. He obeyed, but he just wanted to get this off his chest. I think he wanted to tell some people before he expired.............

3. Agree. We need to teach kids how to observe & think for themselves.
But I can tell you from recent experience that is being squelched in our public schools now. I had an email from my superintendent that stated:

"Teachers will NOT teach any concepts that are not on the state standards list for each class."

How's that for shutting down educators' ability to teach soft skills that are sorely needed on our world! (BTW there are way too many standard than can be successfully taught for most classes, so you are always in a no-win situation.)
Now they are beginning to mandate the "style" & methods used to teach these standards. The goal is to turn teachers & students into mindless robots. They are forcing out experienced teachers & replacing us w/cheaper, younger "robots" who will not rebel. I could not be one of those robots, so I left.

If we don't get rid of NCLB/RTTT, we will have fewer & fewer of these inspired kids. But I'm thankful to see at least some are "thinking".

As far as the CTC caller, I believe TPTB have squelched the majority of energy strides to keep us tied to oil/nuke/coal because those can be CONTROLLED & OWNED.

We desperately need a Renaissance! A Renaissance "back to Nature"! These kids gives me hope!
