Patience for manifestation
Here was a post of mine (a different name incarnation, LOL) almost four years ago, in the November 2007 Prayer thread that I started..........

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=245&topic_id=56038#56175

Damien Echols
who is on death row

And the other two of the "West Memphis Three."

Their crimes seem to have been that they were non-conformist heavy metal fans that performed rituals in the wilderness.

Please pray for their release after fifteen years in jail, wrongly convicted. And lets give gratitude to the lawyers and people supporting and funding the legal team and experts on the case--including heavy metal artists in the recording industry.

This took place right across the river from me, and it was just too horrifying for me to follow the case at the time.

This is a tough legal position-- I think the attorneys are contending "actual innocence" at this point.

Please also pray for our society to be more accepting of people who do not conform.

And, now today,

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Justice/2011/0820/West-Memphis-Three-now-must-learn-how-to-live-as-free-men

At a hearing in Jonesboro, Ark., Friday morning, the trio agreed to a legal maneuver that allowed them to maintain their innocence while acknowledging that prosecutors had enough evidence against them to find guilt. Important questions had been raised about crime scene evidence and conduct of the trial. They were sentenced to time served and immediately released.

But such a startling change in circumstances could have dire effects on the three men locked up as teenagers and now in their mid-30s. They've spent half their lives in prison, missing out on the presidencies of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, the rise of Twitter and Facebook, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the election of the first black president, and the creation of reality TV.

Much gratitude for the celebrities such as Johnnie Depp who took up the cause, the new judge in the case, the teams of lawyers, etc. I hope the three of them get the help they need. Damien is actually married to s pretty savvy sounding person. Wow these guys are going to need tons of support. Let's send our prayers. (Some people still feel they are guilty, though I think that is a minority opinion.)

Keep this case in mind if your prayer manifestations seem to be taking too much time..............

1. I was so pleased to hear about their release.
I remember seeing a documentary called "After Innocence." It was about the men released by the Innocence Project. They had to go on with their lives after losing decades to prison. Most of them did not get any big lawsuit settlements from the state, either. They had to learn to be landscapers, cab drivers, and whatever else they had been or wanted to be before their imprisonment.

They seemed to find help. They helped each other, too. I hope all the celebrities who supported these West Memphis men do not stop now. At least a few celebrities should have the resources to help these men find jobs, homes, and other things to get them on their feet.

Thanks for posting this!

3. I can't get Damien out of my mind
since seeing him at the press conference. Solitary confinement for almost ten years! He was shell shocked and admitted it. Two of them celebrated their release at a party on the roof of a fancy hotel in Memphis. They couldn't get over the food.........Damien has not had any fresh fruit since being in solitary confinement. He looks pasty white. His wife would take him granola bars once a week. Yes he got married to a woman that saw one of those documentaries and began writing him in prison.

Because of the particular type of plea, they will be able to profit from book and movie deals. Since the Hollywood types are good at that, two movies are in the works.

But, they will not be able to sue the state, which is probably why the state agreed to the deal.

2. Finally!
Have you ever seen the documentary Paradise Lost? It's really good. About the case with interveiws, trial footage, etc.

4. no, I should have
I have read about it, though. I hope that there is eventual justice in the case. I suspect it was the stepfather of one of the kids, although there isn't all that much evidence there either.

5. Seriously, check out that film.
Rent the video. It's really well made and very interesting. And for anyone into alternative religion, it's seriously a cautionary tale.

6. Thanks for this. I am having a *hard* time with one goal I've been trying to manifest
for years. I'd finally accepted the fact that it just might not happen, but I still think it could. And I have been frustrated as all hell that it won't.
