(Re) Introducing Myself
Hello to everyone in the 2011 ASAH Group. I go back, here, to May of 2001. After much soul searching/ethics grappling, I have just now decided to donate again so that I can post in one of the few places on DU that seems to be sane in this Brave New 21st Century.

I am Old School to the point where I believe in Jesus, Allah, Muhammad, Buddah, Paganism, Heathenism and Wicca. I have the Gifts of the Spirit as held by the Appalachian People: stopping bleeding that is not of natural causes, blowing out fire and curing what they call Thrush (all of this done not by myself but by the assistance of a Higher Power). In addition, I was taught by my Uncle Homer to find water with a forked stick, provided that it has bitter-tasting bark. He took great pains to point out that this power is available to anyone.

As you may imagine, I have been roundly ridiculed for revealing such things on DU--to the point of having posts deleted outright. Yet I persist, in the hope that it may benefit seekers here.

I believe the time has come wherein the teachings of Dr. Wilhelm Reich may benefit this Earth once again. Ask me nearly anything.

Vry Trly Yrs,
dbt

Other areas of DU can be pretty brutal, but we're an open, loving bunch of souls here.

Welcome home, dbt.

12. Welcome to you, and may you find some comfort here.
There is much turmoil in our world, and, sadly enough, DU reflects it, too, sometimes. This forum frequently offers a place of love and acceptance for many of us, and please know that you are most welcome to join in whenever and however you choose.

Peace to you, and welcome, old friend.

14. WOW! Thank you, everyone!
Individual replies would look like thread-hogging and/or ego-tripping, so this will have to do. I greatly appreciate the welcomes and the sense of community here.

I need to say how much I value the work of the Astrologers here (and you know who you are). It is an ArtScience that escapes me, so I'm glad to be able to read your posts.

Meanwhile, Dr. Reich spoke long ago of healing the Earth. Given the horrid summer that is just now passing, I am feeling the need to do this very strongly--some days it verges on panic.

I would be most interested in knowing if you all feel this need and what steps you may be taking to help heal our Mother (that last would be my little bit of Choctaw blood speaking).

Regards,
dbt

19. Zing!
Hi, kentauros! Danged if that's not one of the sites I ran across whilst searching for Dr. Reich's long-"lost" works--and it's one that could take days to properly digest. Thanks for the links!

And :hi: to you!

(No reply to that PM is necessary, BTW. It was just what's on my heart about Texas.)

23. What I like about this place
Edited on Fri Sep-02-11 10:52 PM by SheilaT
is that everyone here allows for a greater difference of opinion than is often allowed on other forums. I know, because I can ruffle feathers in almost every forum, but I don't believe I've ever gotten nastiness directed at me here when I offer something that's quite unlike what others may be saying in a particular thread. Sometimes I'll get ignored, but hopefully not Ignored.

Please contribute to us often.

edited for clarity.

24. Truly!
The Game in 2011 seems to be Snark At Any Cost--and that's on a good day. If one dares post any unapproved thought forms in most places, it's a race to see how many people can pile on/how quick.

That led me back here. Not that I need a steady diet of agreement ("mega-dittos, Rush"), but civility and open-mindedness are as good for humans as home-grown tomatoes.

25. I have a question for you.
Right now at this moment, near the completion of the Mayan Nine Underworlds of our evolving spirits, what do you think is the the number one thing people should work on or remember or believe?

26. Dunno if it's five things or five facets of one thing:
Feed the hungry

Clothe the naked

Visit the sick

Comfort the dying

Bury the dead

Never did I read anything in any purported Holy Book that made ANY more sense to me.

Namaste.

I don't know why I didn't see this thread when you first posted it.

I also believe in all of the old teachers. There is something we can learn from each of them. Eating a la carte fits me more than having to take a meal that someone else has put together.

I'm not familiar with Dr. Wilhelm Reich. Is there a book you could recommend?
