Vibes, please? (Not a crisis--just need a kick of juju)

My novel has been languishing lately, with not too many responses to my queries from agents (first the hurricane, then the long weekend cut into their work time), and the few responses I HAVE gotten have been of the "rejection" variety.

Then today I just "happened" to click on a link in my bookmarks I had forgotten about; it was a link to a writing contest...and the last day to enter was TODAY (by midnight). I think it was quite serendipitous that I happened across that contest today, of all days ;) , and I entered immediately.

So any vibes you could spare would be great! The prize is negligible (an Amazon gift card) but the entries are read by agents who represent each genre--never a bad thing!

16. I got a lot of responses all during August, which surprised me

I was under the impression that nothin'--but nothin'--happened in the summer. Apparently that's not true anymore. But end of the month? Dead. I'm assuming that now they're doing their regrouping meetings and having how-was-your-Labor-Day conversations and getting in touch with their clients (first priority). Expecting things to pick up next week again. Thanks for the juju! :hi:
