I wish there was a tool to help determine one's "best" location to live.

You know how there are things out there that say what colors are best for you to wear (:eyes:), what foods are best for your individual system, and other things focused on your unique makeup and what resonates with it?

I wish there was something that could help identify which area of the world is the best energetic connection for individuals.

I get the whole "bloom where you're planted" thing, but I also feel there's a good chance we may have places that are more home -- energetically -- than others on this planet. Of course, being able to visit multiple locations is a luxury that could help one determine this, but many of us can't do this right now. And even if an area resonated and felt like home 30 years ago, it doesn't any longer, since we do evolve. For example, I LOVED living in a big city 30 years ago, but not so much now.

I don't use tools as others do such as pendulums, but if anyone here does use it, can you ask that question for me and see what you get?

1. I have been to places that just resonated with me

...felt like I was a tuning fork that was being struck in Portland Oregon for instance. It was hard to leave that town for me and have been doing the bloom where I'm planted thing here in the mid continent region. I think I am taking what I learned there and bringing it inland. For me tho, that would still be the 'heart place' for me. And seemingly others thought that too as I think I had only been there a few days and people were asking me directions and suggestions on where to go to buy things. Fit me like a glove it did.

Manhattan has somewhat the same effect on me too.

3. Ahhhh, it feels good just reading about it.

I've never been to Portland, but I've heard from so many people how wonderful it is there, with them feeling it would be perfect for me.

I was in Seattle for the first time recently, though only in the city itself. It was WONDERFUL, yet I wouldn't want to live there. When I was younger I probably would have, but not now. I want more solitude and nature now...nature outside my door, not a city park, though we can bring nature in anyway I realize.

Yeah, bringing that vibe to where you are is what I struggle with. That takes so much energy! LOL. If we could just be where the vibe IS, I'm thinking I do so much more....

9. There is a 'city park' in Portland

that is a small forest and I think is one of the largest city parks in the world per acre or at least this country. I have stood in it and not heard one human sound.

Lots of nature there and hustle/bustle of a city if you need that too. Favorite spots in the city are the rose garden/zoo area. And at the time we were there, a 10 minute drive would take you out of the city to a waterfall along the Columbia Gorge. Lovely lovely spot on the planet.

4. OMG. Me, too! LOL

I finally came to the conclusion that literally any place (here in the States and probably elsewhere) has the potential for natural disasters these days, with the weather becoming more and more extreme.

That used to be a factor in my longing (the "safest" places), but I've given up on that. I just want to feel at home, and want to be there. It's not only the general populace where I live that has a vibe I don't resonate with, but even the area/land itself isn't inviting, though most definitely there are pockets of people and places (my backyard) that I adore.

I don't know...I just wish I had a heart knowing of a specific location that I longed to be -- and even should be -- so I could work toward that. I feel I'm on hold in that regard.

5. Side note:

You and I have GOT to get up soon. I mean, husband is even working IN the city you live in, lol! If that isn't a hint, I dunno what is.

I've lived here in this area my whole life. I love it but it irritates me sometimes. I was intimately connected to the house and land I grew up on, but that's gone now, and I still feel adrift a bit.

There are some beautiful and very comfortable places here in NC..I bet you could find a nice small farm or small community that you'd resonate with. :)

I didn't realize your hubby is working here. We'll work on that get-together thing, though I find myself in extreme hibernation mode these days...lol. Actually, I keep hearing/reading about wonderful things regarding Greensboro...that there are very progressive things taking hold there.

*I* must be hibernating too..I really do understand, I keep to myself a lot out here.

No, really.G'boro is pretty good, but the main thing about it is that it's a big small town..in other words, in certain circles, no matter what,everyone knows your business. But then there are whole sections of town that don't know you at all. I guess I feel that way because I've lived here my whole life, and my parents lived here a long time. Being in the nightclub industry probably doesn't help the fact that everyone got nosey about my life at times. We're also very spread out. Downtown is ok, but we've had nightlife semi-gang (by 'gang' I mean groups of young people causing problems,not actual gang members) issues - mostly on nightclub nights and only in those areas. North G'boro is the nicest area, as well as sections of the suburb areas.

If you get the money and a chance, book yourself into one of the Montford area B&B's in Ashville, and of course take the tour of Biltmore. It's a beautiful and wonderfully diverse town.

Let me know when you feel like getting out and I'll get a babysitter :) No rush..

7. Astrocartography is what you are looking for.

It was devised in the early 80's by Jim Lewis (RIP).

It's a map of the world that reveals where on the planet you have planets on the angles. It reveals the types of energies one will experience in any given place.

I've lived in and traveled enough time zones to be thoroughly sold on it.

The classical examples cited at the time were that JFK had dangerous lines intersecting in Dallas, and Jimmy Carter had troubles over Tehran.

If you have specific locations that you are drawn to any astrologer can relocate your chart to that area.

If one is really considering a move, it's sometimes helpful to do synastry between one's Natal chart and that of the city, state, or country.

A friend locked her keys in the car....so she went to the Table of Plenty supper with me & stayed over.
We looked on astrodienst for best places in the world for her, that evening.

(they say it's just for vacation ideas) but I paid to have this done 20 years ago when astrocartography advertised on the back cover of Dell Horoscope Mag. I get the same map from this program. I had already found the house in Maine I wanted to buy but couldn't until settlement on my NJ house. I asked for best place in the WORLD!
Several "best places" were Fairbanks AK., the eastern most tip of Brazil ( oil fields I believe) the China Sea, ( venus line,) if I had joined the Navy I would probably have found my true love back then & or made a lot of money!...........
I settled for Jonesboro Maine just 15 or 20 miles up the road from where I am. The astrologer got my ascendant off by 13 degrees, ( irregular DST in my hometown) I checked it doesn't alter the cartography that mucj h, & I certainly have been lucky to be here where I found the inspiration for my series of water paintngs 2 mi down the road. He also commissioned me to design a book cover for his book on astrological meaning of the birth order/
The site is a wealth of info on astrology , birth charts partmers...I think you have to register.........( a friend did this for me 10 years ago, I didn't personally go thru the process.)
WHen you click on a spot on the map, a popup window gives a run thru of the energy of the spot.

I tried to pick three areas of the country (since I am limiting it to the States), as you suggested. I went ahead and included my current general geographic location, in case there was a positive "aha" moment in there for me.

I want to do it again now choosing other locations, because not only is my current situation described to a "T," with it VERY plainly and clearly stating that this area is NOT good for me, in various ways, the other two I chose seem rather iffy, though there are positives involved. Unlike my current location.

16. OGR, I was going to suggest looking into Asheville...

I know what you mean about finding a place that suits. When we moved here to Mass. just north of Boston, and 4 miles from Salem, I absolutely loved the feeling of the place. I just knew I had been here before (which Rick later verified in a reading, something about my north node going through Boston which indicates past lives, I think?). But not only that, it seemed to have a magical quality about it...the energy of the place is palpable. One of the things I loved was that people are so open minded here. And I'm from the south, so before we moved here, I was a little worried if I would be accepted, you know, hearing all those tales about yankees and such growing up, one just never knows for sure...lol. There was no need to worry, everyone knows I'm southern here, (I can't say two words without someone asking me where I'm from)and I've made some really great friends here, more so than anywhere else we've lived. I've even had "nightmares" that we moved away and in the dream I kept saying, "WHY!??! why did we move??".

It's by the sea which I think is part of the great energy of the area. I completely get wanting to be near the ocean. When we lived in KS, I felt SO landlocked and it freaked me out a little bit that to get to the nearest body of water (ocean) it was 18 hours by car. I didn't like that feeling at all.

There's a fun website called find your spotthat allows you to choose a whole bunch of different criteria and then will list cities best suited to your choices. Interestingly enough, we used it years ago while living in Maryland, before the KS move and the top 5 towns always came up the same, all in New England and it turns out, that's where we ended up! But not by plan, it was all synchronicity that brought us here which was really cool!

Ahhhh, I've always loved New England (that's one of the geographic areas I focus on a lot in my dreams). :) Especially near the ocean, as you say.

I've always particularly loved Rhode Island, since within/near that little state there is nearly every type of geography.

My astrocartography search included very specifically, Asheville (I'm already in NC). The result was very, very negative. LOL. Of course, I'll visit and see how it feels, but I thought it was interesting that the result spelled out the same experience I've had where I currently am, which is four hours away.

Vermont is lovely. We went to Woodstock a couple years ago and it's truly right out of a picture book. As I recall, Burlington used to come up for us doing find your spot. that divorce was in my future, I decided I would definitely relocate to another part of the country. I made two big trips, one to Oregon, another to the east coast. Several places were very appealing, but Santa Fe kept on calling my name, and so I came here.

If it's at all possible to take a leisurely driving trip to some of the places that seem at all likely, do so.
