Asking for Light for my brother

My brother (61) has been battling various cancers: first bladder, successfully; more recently liver, followed by bone and brain. He is home now with Hospice care, and it seems likely that he will pass soon.

We're not particularly close - no animosity, just a huge age gap and geographic distance- but I am close to his daughter, and she along with my mother and sister are with him now to see him through this transition.

And he is a wonderful singer. I would have loved to have been there tipping a beer or two while listening to him sing. In the past year I've lost several family members on both my and my wife's side of the family. And there are still others who are now awaiting the transition. As I myself was back in 2009 but for reasons I'm just now coming to understand, it wasn't my time yet. But I can say without equivocation that neither then nor now, do I hold any fear of the transition. Because I know that it is going to be a lot better for all of us - and very soon.

My brother died in May (also cancer & he was also a musician). I knew it would not be easy, but no one ever warns us how hard it is to lose a sibling and I hope you find comfort and that your brother is at peace.

22. I was just reading chapter from the Matthew Books, about the care taken..

by those on 'the other side' to comfort and restore to strength, even psychologically those who have died, especially after fighting a disease.

I would like to imagine that perhaps your brother has found other musicians who have passed on...and that they will be enjoying musical sessions together.

Musical ability is surely a gift... and I would like to think that souls gifted with musical ability will surely be encouraged to share the pleasure music brings to others in that mysterious sphere.
