A question about manifestation.
I've been trying to manifest something important for a very long time. Years. Almost eight years. And it's...just not happening. FWIW, I did take action in the physical world to try to bring this thing about and that didn't seem to help matters, either.

The other day it occurred to me to try to...not manifest it for a while. The impression I was getting about this goal is that I've been holding on a little too tight, and the possibility is getting the wrong energy because of it.

So that's what I'm trying to do this week. I don't love it overly much. Has anyone else ever tried to not manifest something as a means of creating more forward progress?

1. Letting go is crazy important when manifesting
And the hardest part of it to do!

What I learned was 1) figure out what you want to manifest; 2) do magic to call it in but leave the outcome vague/open; 3) take action to bring it about; 4) FORGET ABOUT IT because if you think about it too much, you're clinging to a specific outcome. If you focus on only one option, then the other possibilities don't have a chance to enter into your life.

Like...to keep it simple, let's say you need a new shirt. You see one online or in a catalog, but it's expensive--maybe LL Bean or something. Let's say it's blue plaid. You REALLY want that blue plaid shirt, so you focus on it and focus on it and focus on it...having enough money to get it, or having someone in your family surprise you with it, or whatever. And you walk right past a similar one at Target that you can afford.

That's not the perfect example, but it's the first one that came to mind. :)

Anyway, it's next to impossible to let it go and forget about it, because you want it so much, but try your best. You've done your manifesting; now you have to let it work. If you find yourself thinking about what you want, do the same thing we do for negative thoughts or worries--acknowledge it exists, then release it.

2. This may not be quite the same thing,
but whenever I have been job hunting, the more I want a particular job the less likely I am to get it. When I don't particularly care if they hire me or not, I usually get hired.

3. Seems if I focus in a light way

a goal doesn't get in my way, but is still something bright to visualize.

When I get too caught up in the goal, it's not a beam of light but a thick rope,

which can impede progress and blind me to opportunity.

My experience....

5. Usually, it's a combination of focused mental/emotional energy.

I don't know how to describe it, but it's a kind of dedication of intention.

I don't use candles, spells, or other pagan practices, if that's what you're asking.

6. I'm not sure if this is not manifesting
something to manifest something, but it may be close. See, there is this table I've wanted so badly it hurt. I didn't actually let the desire go but replaced it with something similar that I could have. That was exciting because it meant creating something with my own hands. The excitement had the affect of thinking about the dream table with no attachment or sadness - just pure pleasure and thanking the original desire for causing creative juices to flow.

We had to talk about the dream table while my husband and I were getting the materials together. Long story short, we discussed why the cost was so prohibitive - not only the cost but the extra $200 for shipping and overweight charges. We pulled up the site to look at how we should construct my table and LO! There is a big sale going with a healthy discount AND free shipping! So we recalculated and with a teeny sacrifice that baby is mine!

So I'm suggesting perhaps thinking about what you want in another way that would eliminate attachment.

7. My newest approach is thinking, "If it's meant to happen, it will, if it isn't..."
"...well, that will totally suck. Completely. However, I've done all I can."

8. I agree with everyone here,
Maybe write out your feelings or create a storyboard of the best outcome or how you see it coming about. Then take unending baby steps towards the goal.

10. Well, that is a great approach!
But it doesn't really have to suck, unless your overall happiness is defined by the outcome
