** November 2011 ~ Prayers, Light & Support|Healing Thread **
A dear ASAH soul mentioned that there hasn't been a Prayer Thread in a few months, so I thought I would offer one for November, so that we may focus our requests and offerings. Personally, I'm able to offer prayers and well wishes when they're consolidated in one space; perhaps you're the same?

We're obviously in the midst of an incredible time of change and revolution, which is fascinating and inspiring, though certainly challenging as well. I shared this link separately recently but wanted to include it here (I don't have much creativity in me this morning ;)), for your discernment. The video is long but I found just reading the blog inspiring (the full article is at the link):

Occupy Your SELF. Occupy Your Soul. Occupy Your Life. Occupy Now.

http://kuteblackson.com/blog/?p=402

Each and every one of us have the power to make a difference.

We are powerful beyond measure.

You may not be able to change your spouse. Your parents. Your friends. Or your boss.

But what you can change is yourself.

This is the ultimate power. The ability to change you.

By changing yourself you will have an impact on those around you. By changing yourself you change your world, and in doing making a difference.

In order to truly lead others you must first be able to lead yourself.

This is the power that no one can take from you. This is what you are in control of.

Part of owning your power is to take full responsibility for YOUR life. Sometimes trying to get another person or thing to change seems easier, as it diverts the attention away from what you most need to change in yourself.

Responsibility can be a scary thing at times. Once you own this, there are no longer any excuses. Victimhood is no longer an option.

If you want to do your part in making a difference on the planet. Start by taking inventory. Take an honest look at your life, and acknowledge where you are not living in alignment. Be truthful about where you are not living in integrity. Also, acknowledge the patterns, addictions, behaviors, that no longer serve you and stop you from being your highest self.

Perhaps it’s an addiction to a drug, an unhealthy pattern, such as drama, lying, manipulating, fear, or critical self judgement. Or to an abusive relationship. Perhaps your house is a mess, or your finances.

What is it that you need to shift? What is it that you need to let go of? What is it that you need to embrace more of and love about you? What is it in yourself or your life that you have the power to change?

Wishing you all you wish for yourselves. Happy November!!!!

11. Thanks...and how about some 'juice' for my article too?
Still following up on the City layoff story, union busting etc... they passed the budget, got a new contract with employees, but still gutted the recreation and Snowplow depts...which is going to hit the citizens hard. Meanwhile i got shut down by the stupid PTB and told that i am not allowed to ask questions of employees or managers, only of the Public Relations bitch...she "answered" my detailed questions, with total generic pappy crap, and so now they are going to gave the stupid quotes in my stporym and THEY will be the ones to look stupid. But it still pisses me off. My editor says if they want to play with me, then HE will become the burr in their ass...but i still hope to give the public a clear picture of what's about to hit the fan....

grrr.... journalist girl is not happy!

I didn't go to Main/State College, but went to the McKeesport branch for a couple of years.

I was never really into the whole school spirit thing though, given being at a branch, I think.

Anyway, I join you in the prayer. So much potential for healing here...and large-scale change...just as there was with the Catholic Church scandal, if the truth can truly be revealed in its fullness for once.

Had a beloved kitty, Rosie, who was a walking miracle. I lost her several years ago.

My prayer is always that, if a miracle isn't to occur -- if it isn't for everyone's highest good -- please let the passing be one of grace and ease...for your Precious One, as well as for you.

37. feeling worse today... :(
i guess i either overdid it somehow yesterday or it was just too stressful to have my mom and the kids over for 3 hours yesterday...but im seriously feeling wracked today.

couldn't sleep last night, went down at 8 and struggled till 2 am with a headache and neck-crick...from sleeping on my back cuz my guts still feel weird when i roll over...

finally slept, with weird dreams and waking with pain and nausea...

i want to be rested, but this is getting ridiculous! don't want to have to take meds to sleep, just want to feel like i can sit at my desk and do something productive...*sigh*

so i am trying to lay low today...but i don't want to end up not sleeping at night either...

blah... i guess i'm just whining that healing takes time...impatient human being that i am.

I can imagine sleeping is difficult, so maybe try some of the measures we speak of here so often, like chamomile tea and other ways of inducing restful sleep.

(I've been having vivid, odd dreams all week, too.)

40. got a really nice chamomile & lavender blend
it's interesting, and relaxing. I am just trying to allow for the rest, and the restful waking hours as well. I don;t have to always be active, right? lol but even watching a movie can seem like a marathon, so i am just taking it all in small bites when i can.
and yes, my mom and the kids stressed me out yesterday... i love that she cleans my house for me, but hate that the good deed quickly devolves into me being lectured on how bad of a housekeeper i am, or that she bought me a new mop or replaced my bathroom carpets because my old stuff is ratty...
blegh...
and the kids had a sibling tiff within five minutes of being here and then devin went into a huff and wouldn't cuddle me and that made me cry, so it was frustrating... it all worked out in the end and everyone left with hugs and kisses, but ya, it was a bit of an event, even if i didn't get up from bed that much.

now that i think about it, no wonder i had such a headache last night!

tonight my buddy is bringing over a burger and a beer, so i can try and have something yummy, even if i only have half of it. I'll chat and hang out for an hour, but then go to sleep as soon as i need to. I am definitely listening to that.
funny that my friends are better at listening to ME when i tell them to leave than my family....figures.

50. I'm asking for light and prayers for the folks in York County, SC
Edited on Wed Nov-16-11 11:07 PM by Kookaburra
They were hit by a nasty tornado earlier this evening. There were a few deaths (no definite number yet) and extensive property damage -- people's homes destroyed, etc.

This is just tragic, and the eeriest thing is we could hear the tornado in our neighborhood. It is just the next county over from us.

I'm thankful that it didn't touch us, but heart broken for these other folks.

Officially we're in NC, but if you look at the map, you'll see that Meck County has one very slim point that sort of extends between York and Lancaster Counties (which are in SC). It's weird. In fact, half my neighborhood is actually in SC.

51. Hi, y'all. I don't know what happened
to me yesterday. I was completely overcome by massive and excruciatingly painful spasms in the muscles under my left shoulder blade. I couldn't even sit up and spent the whole day in bed - just awful. Right now, there's only pain at the trigger point and I'm so grateful for that.

Please send me some healing energy to get rid of it completely. There's just too much that needs to get done! Thanks :grouphug:

On one hand it sounds like you may have picked something up and strained your shoulders. All it takes is one strange movement -- not even picking up something heavy, just an unusual movement -- and OUCH!!!

But on a metaphysical/spiritual level, this feels more like your wings unfolding and showing themselves. Sending you peace and love and healing light, dear angel.

56. I need some healing, but I'm thinking it's more of the emotional kind
than the physical (although I'm getting over a cold and had considered asking for that before this evening.) I may end up ranting a little bit, so I apologize for that as well.

I learned earlier this evening from my past-wife (ex) that a good friend from my days and years doing public radio had passed on earlier this year. Of course, I'm upset at knowing that (although I thanked my ex for telling me it had happened) but I'm really more upset with my "friends" for not telling me! No, I'm not on FacePlant like they are, but I'm still in the phonebook! And my email address hasn't changed in 13 years! This is the second death of a good friend in as many years that I've learned about way too late and no one ever bothered to pick up their damn phone.

So, yeah, I'm angry. I don't feel like this is the "5 stages of grief" or whatever it's called. I'm not angry with my friend; he was a great guy. I'm just angry with our mutual friends. They should know better, yet even when everyone was alive, I still had to be the one to initiate the phone-calls/contact or it was as if I wasn't there. I forgave them for that because that's the way I am. I'd rather have indifferent friends than no friends at all.

I think I've had a couple of dreams of Jim in the last few months, so I suspect he was contacting me. I just need to get over my anger with our friends.

Thanks for anything y'all can send this way.

58. I'm very sorry to hear of your
good friend's passing, Kentauros, and feel your pain of finding out much too late    The same thing happened to me once and I was absolutely devastated. It happened to my sister who was not only grief-stricken but beyond understanding why their "friend" told her in a matter of fact way, knowing my sister did not know the news of her best friend's sudden death.

But the pattern seems the same. We all were not in contact on a regular basis.

i know that grieving is such a private thing, no matter how many people are around to help, and we tend to isolate ourselves while in the grips of it. Couple that with being out of touch then is naturally going to happen. But I think it would help you if you told your friends how you feel. I think indifferent friends are no friends at all. So maybe you should let them know you're not being indifferent and would appreciate news of any kind because it's so hard finding out so late and grieving alone.

Would you consider signing up at FacePlant under another name - letting your friends no who you are - and never use it but just to check in every now and then?

HEY! It just hit me that the most important person did try to contact you. Isn't that wonderful? I could find comfort in that for a long, long time

60. Thank you, KoB,
I needed that

I have considered signing up on FB, but it seems like every time I do, I learn of some other heinous practice they do and it drives me away again. I know diaspora was supposed to have some kind of FB connectivity, but will have to research it further (once I sign up on it ;))

Okay, I had to look up the link above only to discover that one of the four founders of diaspora has passed on, too. This is just weird now!

And yeah, I am happy knowing that Jim was in contact with me in my dreams. I hope to see him a few more times now. Maybe I'll remember to go lucid when it happens.

Thanks again

67. OMG, kentauros....you're going to chuckle...
I was first going to say that what KoB wrote is so beautiful and absolutely wonderful advice.

I was then going to ask about this "Faceplant" site you both spoke of, and that I'd never heard of it.

I'm so slow these days......:eyes:

You have every right to feel as you feel; the thoughtlessness of others can be so painful. It's usually truly innocent though, in my experience -- no malice or selfishness involved, simply pure thoughtlessness -- but it doesn't make it less painful.

Jim is quite thoughtful, so it seems. :)

(BTW, I really think you can use FB in a way you'd find most beneficial to you, including as KoB suggested.)

57. To all who need good vibes here

I am meditating for all here. :grouphug:

AS for the Tsiyu, asking for a release of the hold on my income (lol, know I'm not alone here :) )

My goals and outlook have changed for the positive, and I am blessed with wonderful people in my life, and a loving family.

But it seems as if there has been a real blockage in obtaining income the last few years, and I want that blockage to end!

My existence is rather ascetic, and that has helped me grow and understand true Appalachian poverty. However, now I want to move forward. I want to be able to help others and make improvements on my property so that it can be used for the good of others. I want to be able to go to the doctor and dentist now and again. I want to be able to visit my friends and family and participate in politics, etc. I want to thrive, rather than merely survive.

I know I'm not alone, so for all who are in the same boat as me, I'm asking for our $$$$ blockages to be removed, and for all of us to have no more money worries. :bounce:

For the good of all......

Wishing a peaceful, productive, painfree weekend to all :hi:

78. Requesting good vibes, etc. concerning job interview
Hi Everyone,
Some of you may know, I've been unemployed since March 2010, and had almost given up on finding something, when (surprise!!!) I got a call back from one of the multitude of resumes I've been sending out each week.
So far, I've made it through two recruiter screening phone interviews, and now they've set me up for a phone interview with the hiring manager and their HR director. This is further than I've gotten with anything since I was laid off, so I'm very excited.
Anyway, I'm asking for good vibes, prayers, whatever you wish to send this way. If this is meant to be, I'm sure it will be, but a little extra help never hurt.
Also, if anyone gets some idea of how this is going to play out, I'd love to hear it. The interview with hiring manager is set for Dec 1, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. (est).
Hugs & Kisses,
Kook

81. For everyone on Thanksgiving

I hope everyone in ASAH has a wonderful holiday, no matter what you're doing tomorrow, whether it's quiet or frenzy at dinner, whether you're working somewhere tomorrow or able to enjoy a break from working.

May everyone traveling be safe; everyone cooking be food safe (lol) and appliance safe.

I am thankful for all of you more than I can express adequately.

Now a request: Went to visit my friend's gift shop/gallery. He loved my two paintings and agreed to display them with typical 60/40 split (60% of $700 can't hurt ha). Then, he informed me that a person who really screwed me over is now handling the art business side. Yeow.

Just wish me peace about this. I almost didn't want to leave my "babies" knowing "that person" would be in charge of them, but I love the business owner - old, dear friend - so I agreed to the situation. I just don't want to get screwed by this person AGAIN.
But I don't think my friend will let that happen.

Peace to all and I hope you all have a peaceful, happy, healthy holiday. Now I have to go clean house!

82. Glider Guider had an accident this week and could use some energetic support.
He fell on a patch of ice Wednesday morning that left him with about 10 fractures in the various bones in his right elbow. His elbow was completely rebuilt in 3 hours of surgery Wednesday evening.

I'm sure that any prayers, healing energy, light, etc. you feel inclined to offer would really help during this time.

(I received his permission to post this.)

Thank you!
