Waddle, Waddle , Waddle.
Popping open the top button of her "Easy Pants",and sighing on the first bend of her knees as she lowers her way down to the couch, the modern over-worked mother realizes she never removed the neck OR the giblits from the cavities of the much fussed over bird, they came to devour in much less than an hour.

29. I've only made one turkey myself...
and since I'm a vegetarian, that is the only one I'll ever make, so I have to ask...

Is it really its butt? :wow: If not, what is that cavity?!!

When I still ate meat, I did whatever I could to make it not look like an animal -- skinless, boneless, bloodless, etc. Seeing that bag in the one turkey I made traumatized me! :scared:

4. You know, I grew up the daughter of a chef,
So I should have known better, but I did the very same thing on my first turkey. Got the neck out, because I saw it, but didn't get the little bag of nastiness out of there and it cooked with the bird. No one knew the difference (except Daddy, and I think it was only because he could read the look of guilt on my face).

20. Don't feel bad about that. My sister and I were cooking Thanksgiving
dinner the year our mother died and we didn't know about the baggie of inards in the neck cavity, so we cooked 'em with the turkey. She was 52 and I was 51 when this took place. I had cooked chickens and turkeys, but never one large enough to have giblets in the neck. I always cook these tasty bits up for the dog and to add to soup stock. Lady loves chewing on the rubbery bits like gizzard and heart.

From the subject heading of this thread, I thought you were starting another storyline.
