Despite the dark and cold, spring (and the New Year) awaits. I'm reminded once more of the Camus quote I've posted here before: In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer. We face 2012 with the hope of a better world for all.

As we gather with loved ones and friends to celebrate the holiday season, we also remember the blessings of the past year. I am thankful for ASAH and everyone who visits here. You are an encouragement and a refuge. You have added more to my life than I could ever say, and I hope I have added to yours as well.

The happiest of holiday seasons to all, and let's hope that we will see the things we dream of most in 2012 and beyond.

Asking for prayers for my SO, who is in the hospital with severe case of diverticulitis, hoping to avoid surgery but if that prevents recurrence, that's okay, too. He was just in ER last week for getting electrocuted putting up holiday lights! Oy...:eyes:

So many other crisis-level issues that I'd rather not enumerate; just asking for positive vibes sent my family's way.

I ask for positive vibes for my financial situation. I am not one to usually speak publically about such issues; however, I just received a cut-off notice for my utilities. That has NEVER, in my 60 years on this planet, happened. Though my intelligent side knows I am in good hands and all WILL be well, my emotional side is a wreck. Any support, via thoughts, prayers, vibes, will be greatly appreciated.

A lot of utility companies can put you in touch with organizations who can help you out with your power/gas/water/etc. I know where I live, they work very closely with these agencies, and they've helped a lot of people.

20. I need abundance visioning assistance ;)

I had my annual welfare contract signing etc bullshit appointment today. I want it to be the last one ever. I want the next quarterly report to be the one where i check the box that says "thanks but no thanks, i got it from here"

The Carson paper/online venture is shaping up...the publisher, another colleague and buddy from my tribune days is gearing up for a lot of new traffic, new advertisers and needs a full time reporter. i would start out kinda marketing and such, then most likely move into content/editorial. or both. I know he is working on an investor to manifest a SALARY position, and would like that to be me eventually, so this is a first step.
He is calling me with proposal/details on the sales stuff this afternoon. I pray it is enough to get me through the next 6 months ...I'd like to manifest the move and money to do it by summer...and let it be SOLID, i choose a contract!

feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time that something may actually grow roots take it to the next level for me..

I also choose to be able to make rent here in the meantime... i know i can manifest the extra $300+ a month to help with that....

31. Asking for healing.

I had a health crisis Thanksgiving night while visiting the relatives in Oklahoma City. I will have to stay here for several months. I had extreme shortness of breath. Went to the ER.
I was in the hospital for eight nights, two days in ICU.

I had uncontrolled diabetes (blood sugar over 600) and blood clots in my lungs caused by Deep Vein Thrombosis in my legs. Had the blood clots been bigger I could easily have died.

I am resting and have to sleep most of the time. My clotting time is normal and they think my diabetes will go away in six months. I am not taking insulin. The hospital was amazingly good. Everyone was working on a degree or another degree. Everyone was a scholar. For instance, my attending physician, a hospitalist, is a D.O. AND a pharmacist. I'm surprised he didn't stuff his brain full with the pharmacy degree.

Since I am a scholar, it did my heart glad to see all those young people studying nursing.

I have earth angels -- my husband, stepson and his girlfriend taking care of me.

That must have been so scary -- for your loved ones as well! Glad you had earth angels all around. :hug:

I was in the ER twice in the last two weeks (not for me, for my SO) with a hospital stay involved as well, and we were also very touched by the compassion and attentiveness of all involved -- especially since he is/we are uninsured. They went the extra mile in diagnosing and treatment, and it sounds like your caregivers did the same. There is a lot of inspiration out there.

May your recovery be one of grace and ease.
