I have similar questions, but I also have a few answers:
First, no posts are migrating to DU3. Those who started threads here such as the prayer thread, visioning thread, and marketplace thread will need to create new ones on DU3, if they're so inclined (I've messaged the three goddesses who did so here in December).
Not sure how long DU2 will be up, but we need to someone save our messages and bookmarks and such if we want to keep that information. If anyone has any brilliant ideas other than copying and pasting (I have TONS of bookmarks I want to save!), please share. :(
I haven't immersed myself much in DU3, so I don't know the ins and outs of things, but I also wonder how "public" it is. I've already seen people commenting in the ASAH-DU3 forum that I've never seen before. Not sure if the layout makes it more visible or what (though I do recall reading something Skinner wrote about making forums and groups more visible and easy to find).
Funny, this feels like a weird rapture event...lol. Someone in GD commented on that and it rings true.
EDIT TO ADD AN IMPORTANT POINT! I may be hesitant to post much if people are going to be more inclined to "like" posts and share on FB and such. While I post a lot of things on FB, I try to keep it nonpartisan, as I try to engage those who don't even identify with any party politically...the extremely Apathetic Ones, and have had success thus far. I don't want my identity too closely linked to DU; I really value the information and discussion at DU but it can be detrimental to further discussion simply given the name alone.
