More interesting experiences with astral travel candles.
Yes, I said I wasn't going to do it again, but--I decided I was being too stupid. I want to experiment, and so far, the experiments have been going great. I can't say for certain that the dreams I've had since using the candles designed to induce astral travel after meditation are the result of astral work, but they've been unique, vivid and memorable. Each one has involved going back into the past. Once, I got to hang out in th early nineties, once, in twenties/forties and once in the sixties. Last night in particular was great. I got to hang out with John Kerry as a young man. (He was charmingly geeky.) We talked in a conference room or something at St. Johns. We were discussing what colleges he was going to apply to. He said, "Everyone keeps saying I should go to Boston (I presume he meant BU)." And I said, "Not Yale?" He smiled and said, "Yeah, I really think Yale." There was a bathroom with funny red carpet and white tiles. It was all very strange and once again, as I posted about last time, there was that feeling of everything moving in slow motion. I liked it. I'm going to try to go again tonight.

1. Sounds interesting
I'm so jealous you got to hang out with college Kerry. He was so cute back than. *Sigh* Everything with him is like poetry. So perfect and insync. I know, corney right? Where do you get these candles? I've been to the future once and it was very interesting. I was at this house I apparently was living in and have been to before. I was in the kitchen cleaning dishes and it was mid afternoon and I was watching CNN (I knew because of the logo haha) and three reporters were talking about an attack that had happened in the country. The first place that popped in my mind was NYC of course but I don't know if it was there or not. The main reporter was blaming John Kerry (which I found quite strange), the second guy Clinton and one guy Bush who's fault it was because of all the actions now. Have you seen anything like that? Could you see?

2. I buy my candles at my fave metaphysical bookstore.
As for the rest of your question, the only candle I've used that has taken me to the future was one designed not for astral work but vision quests. They happen to be out of the vision quest ones at my store at the moment.

I will get the brand name of these candles later today if I can and think about what you asked. Except, FA82, you seem to have many natural psychic and intuitive gifts, especially as regards government. Maybe it would be better for you to try to get more answers about what you're focused on? I'm a Taurus. I feel that this has somewhat limited whatever psychic abilities I possess. I'm not the person to be asking about these things, really. :-)

3. I don't know if I would be comfortable
sleeping with burning candles. I'd be too paranoid. Just wondering but what do you mean with regards to t he government? I'm a cancer if you're wondering. :) Everything seems easy to come easy for me. I guess being an empath helps.

4. What? I don't sleep *with* the candles lit, I blow them out before sleep.

Sleeping with candles still lit is unsafe, in my opinion.

What I meant about your abilities is that your impressions about the people in our government and what will happen with our government seem strong.

I thought you kept the candles lit while sleeping to help but that's good you don't do that. And hey hopefully they're true eh?

5. Please post your technique
I'm reading Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics, but it doesn't seem to discuss traveling to the past. That's something I find interesting as well.

7. Well, I don't necessarily know if the most recent dreams are "astral."
The first one I had weeks ago felt more like what people who have visited or traveled through the astral plane experience. Also, it involved a distinct "not entirely in my body" feeling. Good, but weird. The dreams that I have had recently have occurred after burning a candle designed to encourage astral travel. I can't call them "astral" per say, they are simply extremely vivid and powerful.

My "technique," such as it is, is to burn the candles for up to one hour before bed, smudge myself, wait until I am really tired, then go to sleep.

9. I wonder if they're lucid dreams?
Although I have to admit I don't know the difference between the two, except for maybe one is just in the mind?

10. I thought that lucid dreaming was about being able to control the dream.
But, I haven't even Googled that topic. It certainly doesn't feel as if I can control anything in them or about them (I wish!).

12. Hi classicfilmfan
I can answer that if you don't mind my doing so.

The difference between lucid dreaming and astral projection is that when you are lucid dreaming, you become 'conscious' while you are still dreaming. In astral projection you are actually separating your none physical body from your physical body.

We ALL dream every night, and all regular dreaming, lucid dreaming and astral projection takes place in the astral plane. The only difference between them is whether or not we are conscious, and whether or not our physical and none physical bodies are separated.

If you experience out-of-body, there's absolutely no questioning that experience when it happens -- you will know it and there will be no doubting it. It is also very important to remember that matter in the astral plane (the none physical parts of our universe), is extremely reactive to our thoughts - whether conscious or subconscious. So we have to be very careful to maintain the utmost diligence of not contaminating our astral experience with any of our own mental expectations of what reality is, or else what we experience wont be completely accurate to the actual truth insomuch as a reality of our own making.

It is also important to remember that the different levels of the astral (all none physical parts of our universe) may be occupying the same space/time as the physical part of our universe. However, what we see in the astral is either a representation of thought --or-- the none physical part of the physical world. In other words, it is possible to be in the astral world and see the things and people of the physical world, but you'll only being seeing their none physical parts.

And yes, it is possible to travel to different times in the astral. However, going back in time is quite different than the future. Everything back in time has already happened and is recorded in the 'Akashic' records. On the other hand, future events permeate down the different dimensions until they reach here. So even though its possible to see or be in things that have yet to happen, it is not necessarily an accurate prediction because our actions here can change the events that were going to happen.

6. Also, do you work with crystals at all?
I find if I wear my quartz and moonstone I come closer to "taking off" than others...

8. I'm working with a variety of stones right now. Good tips
about the moonstone/quartz. Hmmmm. It occurs to me that I didn't play with those stones before I attempted the last "leaps." Interesting.
