I found out my birthtime! Woo-hoo!
For years I thought my birthtime was 9:30 a.m. based on a conversation (which I now realize was a faulty memory) with my mother when I was a kid. My birth certificate does not state a birth time -- I guess that was not required back in "the dark ages." ;-). Yesterday I was going through old papers and stuff for storage and ran across an old baby book -- you know the kind where you note the baby's growth during the first year -- my mother kept for me. Well, there is was in my mother's own hand -- born 10:20 a.m. Woo-hoo! Now I can have an accurate natal chart!

1. Wow - that's really important, Love Bug!
I've always felt bad for people who didn't have this piece of information.

Congratulations!

2. Birthtime is SO significant!
My Mom also told me the wrong birth time, based on recall, and my chart readings often seemed "off." Now, with my true birthtime in hand, readings are mind-blowingly accurate. The difference for me, too, was less than an hour. But, boy, what a significant 50 minutes.

3. In high school, I had a friend who somehow lost a year as a child.
She was actually a year older than what they thought that she was. Yes, she was from a big family! :)

4. A whole year!!
I have two children born a year apart, and sometimes can't remember which was born when. I usually get it straightened out before it has any impact, though. For how long did she live under the wrong age?

5. I seem to recall that it was when she wanted to get her driver's license.
She thought that she was 16, but she was really 17.

6. My mother
found out she was 5 years older than she thought she was!

She was to start the application process for CPP (Canada Pension Plan) when she was 63...she thought she was born in 1926; when she found the parish records (small town Saskatchewan; it even took her a while to find them), it turned out she was born in 1921!

She was from a big farm family - nobody celebrated birthdays. It doesn't make sense to me...considering she knew where she was in the birth order. Unless her parents mixed it up (they both died in 1966)...

I can't imagine the shock she must have felt...I remember being incredibly startled myself.
