sending healing energy to person far, far away through his picture?

I have a family member in serious trouble with a drug problem. We have not heard from him since December 2nd and last we heard he was several states away. I put a fantastic picture of him with his two daughters on his lap in a really pretty gilded frame and we put a small wooden carving of a monk next to it. (we're catholic - we got it from a catholic church store in Santa Fe.) Then my other brother put a bunch of crystals in front of the picture. One is small and shaped like a rose. Others are natural and quite big.

It seems we have been thinking of him a lot more since we did this. My mother has been calling my other brother by the missing one's name, we heard from his ex-wife, I have been thinking of him even more than usual.

My question - can you send energy to someone through their picture?

Reiki is sent via just the name & location, but pictures can be used as well.

Truth be told, you don't need anything to send energy - just intention. And keep it positive - don't attempt to manipulate or decide you know what the best outcome is. There is something to the Wiccan Rede of what you send out, you get in return three-fold (paraphrasing).

So, in a long convoluted response to your question, yes, you can send energy to someone through their picture. I hope it helps.

3. Yeah - he was with us for a year - a year from hell!!

Constant drama. I arrogantly thought I could "fix" him through diet and supplements and books like Doreen Virtue's books and Michael Newton's "Journey (and Destiny) of Souls". It looked very good for a while and then went to hell. He wanted to go back to Colorado where he has lived for over 25 years. We finally realized the best thing we could do is help him get back to Colorado since he seemed so miserable back here. It made his ex-wife very angry because she was afraid he would end up on her door step. Instead he disappeared. When I pray for him I pray that God helps him and leave it at that. Only God and my brother can deal with this. It's over my head.

One time I researched his behavior on the web and it fit the definition of a sociopath. I showed him the definition and told him several times he was a sociopath. I told my mother he was a sociopath. I told his ex-wife he was a sociopath and sent her the definition and why I thought that. She may have told their children. I feel so guilty about that now. Imagine being told you were a sociopath? But he is a very convincing liar and sometimes seems to have no conscience - so I became certain he was a sociopath. Now I realize I had better stay out of this I only make things worse.

4. Yes the picture is a very good way to focus

I like to work with pictures in this way.
I sometimes even touch the picture as a way to connect energies.
I am very visual, helps to see things in front of me.

I very much like how you made the arrangement around him. The wood of the monk, the glassy crystal.

I would add something however, something from your yard, like a cutting from a tree or plant. I know it is still winter but anything, just a small cutting from a branch of a tree. Something to help ground him and bring him down to earth, out of his drug cloud.

Also keep in mind that some times people we love are on paths that we can do nothing about, it is their journey, their karma and we have to accept that. This is one of the hardest of all lessons I know from personal experience.

Also say a Hail Mary. She will help you deal with this.

7. I'm on the same page with everyone else as well

My Reiki instructor told us that even using a doll during distance healing with the intent that it was the receiver would work well. I feel your pain over the drug issues. I know that it's hard but standing back and allowing them to fall is usually all you can do. I offered my daughter a place to come on the condition that she get treatment she wouldn't come and made up stuff so I'd send money. She chose to be homeless and lose her kids. I would just repeat that I'd have a plane ticket if she wanted to come home.

Anyway, love knows no bounds and it sinks in if only subconsciously.:hug:

It helps to know I'm not alone. My brother also has chosen to be homeless. Several times he has lucked out with good jobs and he'll get an apartment for a few months - then go right back. It's sad to watch and I feel so badly for his children! Thanks for sharing.

9. Update - FINALLY heard from him after FOUR months!!! Yippie!!

Could be a coincidence - but it seems like it may have helped. We found a root to "ground" him, then moved his picture next to a flowering plant and now we only have one crystal.

I like to keep the energy moving and fresh, with seasonal plants or clippings.
