Synchronicity in reverse? When the Universe tries to tell you...
maybe this isn't the best path for you. Has anyone ever experienced this? I'll illustrate what I mean by sharing an experience.

I've been seeking a new allergist. Several years ago, a few people shared with me the name of a particular doctor in my area. I wanted to see this doctor, but the constraints of our insurance wouldn't allow it at the time.

Now I have insurance that would allow me to see this doctor. But, I've experienced a series of incidents that lead me to believe this is not meant to be.

First and foremost, The front office is inefficient and unprofessional. They've called us at the wrong number, after we told them the correct number. They didn't return our phone calls to schedule appointments or to handle our questions. I rarely get to talk to an actual human being during office hours. I call and almost always get an answering system or voice mail.

Every time I was successful in booking an appointment with the office, something happened where I was unable to keep the appointment, or the appointment was with the doctor's associate not the one I really wanted to see (that came highly recommended).

It didn't take long for me to seek other offices out. The difference was immediately apparent, showing me that was not an office I wanted to deal with. Other offices communicated with me professionally and happily answered my questions and scheduled my appointment.

It's interesting to me how it seems sometimes something can block certain situations. It made me wonder if anyone else has ever experienced this?

So, have you ever felt blocked from taking a certain course of action, going somewhere, or doing something you wanted to do or thought you should do? What was it? Did you ever find out why it was best for you to not do what you wanted to do?

:hi:

1. Just wanted to add something...
w/out increasing the length of my post.

It's also of note to me that in my mind, it did take some time to consider maybe this wasn't the path/doctor for me in spite of their great reviews from others. My initial response was to dismiss issues I encountered as "they're busy today", or "they're having a bad day", etc. As opposed to acknowledging the lack of professionalim or to even consider that this was not the appropriate place for me, for whatever reasons.

It's interesting to me that I did that...

Ok, sorry--just felt the need to say that. lol.

2. You only need two points to draw a line.
As far as signs go. However, the dilemma for me is: What if I'm meant to persevere? I find I get a good answer to that if I ground myself well and then ask the question. Grounding always reveals the truth. Any other way is just us being in our heads.

3. I'm a big believer in this
I tell everyone that when it's meant to be, all the doors just open up wide and sometimes, you even feel pushed through the door before you know you're going through it.

Other times, the doors all seem to slam shut and no matter what we do, they just won't open.

None of this is a coincidence. It's one of the clearest ways you're being directed in life. Ignore it and boy, you'll be frustrated, to put it mildly.

5. It's important to realize
(I think) that it's not a coincidence. Ignoring the directions and trying to force your way through is beyond frustrating. It's downright exasperating--to the extent of being painful. lol.

Sometimes we just don't get that it means we need to go a different way--that our solution isn't THE solution, if that makes sense. That there is another way, if we are willing to consider it.

6. If more people realized this, lots of shrinks would lose business
But people are taught to fight on until they win and winning the battle become the ultimate goal, totally dismissing the universal forces. If more people paid attention to the lessons life has to offer instead of just "winning" the immediate battle, we'd be much further along than anyone would ever imagine. Someday ....

particular aspect, but Wow...I think you're right.

What you said makes me think of people I've seen doing things they seem to feel compelled to do, but not authentically WANT to do. They just turn off the part of them that tries to alert them to being on the wrong path. In doing so, they get sick, look and feel awful, are miserable, feel disconnected from themselves, lost...

I've been there, too. For example, trying to force my way into a physician's care that apparently is not the best for me,(lol) despite all those that stated she was great for them. The Universe has something else for me--who knows why. Best to not fight it, and go with the flow. :)

4. How do you differentiate forces who are trying to prevent you
from doing something that you believe is good for many, and the energies of the universe that are trying to protect you.

I have been struggling with this now for a long time, I perceive it as incredible interference, when all astrological, numerological, feng shui and other advice show signs of the best outcome the exact opposite is manifesting in it's path.

Certain Buddhists say the more you chant and work toward the betterment for all, the more interference you will confront.

This is really a tough one and a center problem right now, I am thinking of making an appointment with a Seer/Healer

8. Making the choice is simple, you just never know how it will go.
In 1997 my hubby and I planned a trip to Washington state to see my daughter. I started feeling icky about it and couldn't make myself pack to go. I was up until two in the morning the night before the trip talking with my son about how weird it felt and I just couldn't get past the feeling of not wanting to go in spite of the fact that I really wanted to see my daughter.

Well, we ended up leaving at 4:00 am and I eventually crawled in the back seat to sleep. I got back into the front seat about 1:30 pm and put on my seatbelt. I was in a horrible mood so I pulled out a rosary and some mala beads and went through each bead on both sets of beads. I was saying a prayer of thanks when suddenly the car veered off the road, back onto the road skidding sideways, tipping over and spinning on its side and then sliding to the opposite shoulder and flipping over a bush and back on it's wheels. My husband was saying how sorry he was and he said I said very calmly it's going to be alright, all while the car is sliding and flipping. It was around 2:30 pm (pacific time) August 31, 1997, the date and time that Princess Di was killed.

We ended up in the back of an ambulance being checked over and finding only 1 bruise on my leg from the stick shift. It was weird because the drivers side window broke out and my watch, which had been on my wrist and hair clip which had been in my hair were both laying outside the car with a few other things. Nothing else was broken.

We ended up only needing the tires refilled with air. I guess the impact of flipping and then landing back on our wheels popped the beads but that was all. (Well and the window was gone and the side smashed up but the engine was sound).

We were in Idaho near Mountain Home in front of a sign that said 45th or 47th parallel. I can't remember which. Anyway it was the weirdest thing that I've ever had happen. I knew I didn't feel good about going yet I went anyway. Everything worked out but I knew something was coming. Should I have skipped the trip? I don't think so, I needed to see my child. So the answer is just do what you think is best and the details will work themselves out. You may have a bit of drama or just some inconvenience but the journey is not always supposed to be perfect.

I guess I needed to tell this story, I hope you don't mind the length of it.

11. You say the beads popped?
In Japan people use a stamp with the name to "sign" official documents called "Inkan". I met a guy, who was by profession making these, but he was also a seer and reader of palms and some form of astrology.
I have a set of those inkans he made for me. He said at the time, that these inkans are to protect you. He said put one in your glove compartment box, and there were incidents, of people walking away without a scrtach, but find the inkan totally smashed or broken into pieces.

Is it possible that the beads protected you?

Wow. Glad you were both ok.

9. Yes.
Here's a thread I started last fall when I was feeling like Spirit was pissed at me for not 'doing what she wants me to do' in this life. (Still feel that way, by the way - but some things have gotten a little bit better for me).

14. Destiny vs. free will is a big part of this, too...
thanks so much for the link! :hi:

I feel that sometimes we have to consider when we are in line with what we should or should not do.

Using my stale example again, (lol) it's one thing for me to make the effort to make an appointment to see someone. But the doctor's staff ultimately can choose not to cooperate with my desire. Sure, the doctor should know that her staff (which I may make an effort to try to let her know about). But if there is another option available that doesn't require climbing a steep hill, in the snow while naked and the door swings open on that--why not go and explore that option instead?

Do you still feel that spirit is pissed with you, or have you been walking on a path of destiny since that post?

10. Go with your "gut."
I can't explain it any better than that. If you seriously think there is a reason to press on--then DO it. If you have a voice telling you "it is WRONG" then follow that quiet little voice.

I'm gonna point out a "what if" in your situation, and I do not mean it as questioning you--OK?

What if you are correct in wanting to see that most excellent doc, and maybe it is up to YOU to make him realize he's got a lousy front office staff? Maybe you are in a position to help HIM do a better job with his patients and the people who need him...

I have always kind of seen life as being like life on water. You leave a wake behind you. Some people leave nothing but turbulence and agitation others leave smooth little patterns and gentle little swells that are pleasing to look at that comfortably rock every one they contact.

I think that listening to that quiet little inner voice is how we all manage NOT to leave huge turbulent wakes behind us.

Now, lest I sound like some sanctimonious poop, let me admit freely to not always hearing the quiet little voice. I try to listen, but I swear I must be hard of hearing sometimes...

Peace to you!

13. That's fair--
I don't mind "what if's" at all. lol. It's healthy to consider the alternatives, at least I think so.:hi:

Actually, I considered that possibility. Unfortunately, I need to see someone right now. Screwing around with them and their insane front office beauracracy has aided in the delay of care I need for the issues that affect me the most--asthma and severe environmental allergies. Unfortunately, I can't really wait around any longer...BUT--

I'm considering holding her office accountable and getting a letter to the doctor about her staff. I'm honestly still mulling over it--as I don't know if it will be productive for me to remain attached to this by doing so.

People's lives and situations change. From the initial time I heard of this doctor as "one of the best" to the present, she now has a family and has reduced her office hours a great deal. Her schedule is quite abbreviated, and it would have been difficult to work within those constraints. :)

The other doctor I recently consulted has two office locations that are near me, a nurse practitioner to help see patients and more office hours. Her staff is friendly and easy to reach. She's open six days a week, where as "one of the best" is available mornings only, three or four days a week--and it's next to impossible to get a human on the phone. :eyes:

Honestly, I'd rather deal with an office I can actually reach and talk to a human being during office hours. I hate leaving messages and having to wait for someone to return my call, when I'm dealing with breathing issues.

15. I expect things to be easy
This is an interesting topic; thanks for bringing it up bliss_eternal. BTW, I do hope you find someone who is good soon.

Sometimes when I run into situations like that, I wonder if the people in the office could all have astrological signs that are squared or in opposition with mine. Or have some other angle that makes dealing with them tough.

In any event, I never "push" it when things are difficult or not to my liking. To me it's just not worth it. I agree with "go with the flow."

I think things are supposed to be easy and I expect them to be. If they're not, I figure I'm on the wrong path and I back away. My friends make jokes about how parking spots open up right in front when I drive up. I don't know how it happens but it always does (don't hate me!).

This especially applies to finding specialists. One of my friends says that when she's with me, we always find just the right person for whatever the transaction is.

I don't know if this is tuning in psychically or simply the power of expectation.

The one place where expecting things to go easy and it never does is with handyman tasks. There I always run into problems. I have come to look at those types of jobs as a process, though, and have accordingly lowered my expectations for them.

p.s. Wow, OhioBlues, that was some story! I remember that time well--around Diana's death. I am so glad you escaped without any serious injuries.

17. Hi NJCher--
Edited on Mon Mar-27-06 10:12 PM by bliss_eternal
it's so good to see you! :hi:

There was a time in my life that this wasn't the case, I didn't go with the flow and seemed to always be fighting. I know that I learned this in my formative years from others that believed that everything in life has to be a struggle. I know now that this was their choice, but it doesn't have to be mine and I choose not to buy into that.

I no longer believe that life has to be difficult. So when I do encounter difficulties, I have to question if it's really the best path for me.

I really like what you said about this, Cher--in terms of wondering if those you encounter could have astrological signs that aren't necessarily compatible with yours. I didn't consider that, but feel it is a valid point--thank you. You have such a way of putting things!

Of course I don't hate you for parking spots opening up in front of you--I laughed when I read this, though. It made me think of my husband's pet peeve.

He really hates when he parks our car, goes in a store to come out and find that a huge SUV or flat bed truck has parked on either side of him. It drives him to distraction! (He has a sight issue which affects his depth perception, making it difficult for him to be in tight spaces). I don't worry about it--so it never happens to me. Without fail it happens to him. I told him to affirm that he can get in and out of his spaces quickly and easily or to state that small cars park near him. It must be working, as I haven't heard him complain about it in a while. LOL!

I really appreciate your response, as it is a perfect testament to the power of positive thinking. You expect things to be easy--so they are! Your thoughts create your world. This is an important reminder for me, and it also validates my idea that nothing should be that hard. It's just not for me...no biggie! ;)

20. LOL! - You have what my kids call 'parking mojo'!
Same here - I always get right_up_front spots, by the entrance, no matter how busy the lot or time of day! You are only the 2nd person I've ever 'met' who had the parking mojo! The other was a garden forum DUer's wife - the man had spectacular pix of his greenhouse! He said she called it 'parking faerie'!

Handy as all get-out, but I'd really like some of my daughter & grandson's mojo. They have contest luck - they both win little drawings & contests like crazy. Both share that 'gift' along with a common birthday - April 23rd, 12 years apart! DD was banned for awhile from the local radio call-in contests after she scored 3 different sets of Blondie tickets for a hard-to-get show in L.A. They said they knew it was impossible for her to cheat, but were afraid that other listeners wouldn't believe them ... "Give the other guys a chance, pleeeassse!"

Thread hijack over - just got a big tickle when I saw this! :bounce:

19. But of course! It's the "unnerving" vs. the "exasperating" challenges
Edited on Wed Mar-29-06 04:41 AM by NuttyFluffers
The exasperating challenges are the ones where you are going along a path and you feel the resistance that is natural to any birthing process. Whenever you are going towards a goal you are doing an act of willful creation, and, unless it is hurried along by the universe, you'll naturally have some resistance. To achieve a different state takes effort to move you out of your previous state. Simple law of inertia.

Now, the universe does occasionally get involved, for "good" or for "ill" (according to our myopic standards of good or ill). Sometimes what you are doing is something very much needed in the grand scheme of things and you'll be ushered in quite rapidly. Other times the universe just locks all the doors and windows; you just are not meant to pass that way.

That gets to the "unnerving" part I refer to. Whenever the universe gets a hand into affairs particularly strongly one gets a distinct unnerving feeling from the encounter. The resistance, or assistance, just seems... unusual. One is either left bewildered as outrageous fortune lands on their lap, or disturbed as a 'series of unfortunate events' befalls them. either result often leaves the recipient in a state where they act a bit more tentatively after the incident. basically one gets the awareness that something much larger is paying attention. one suddenly becomes quite conscious of using their free will at that point.

(at this point i like to think of how my hamsters reacted when they realized i was suddenly paying attention to them. i may be playfully teasing them, placing them on strange new landscapes, or moving large objects making a sort of playground. but the result was the same: they froze, started looking around more, and walked and touched things very tentatively. you could almost read what they were thinking, "there's this big creature out there making big things happen. i don't know what it'll do next, but i'm going to pay strong attention to any reaction to what i'll do next.")

Also, it's kinda like that biblical story where God is said to be a shaitan to the Babylonian(?) messenger riding on a mule to the Israelites. Remember the one where the mule kept laying down not wanting to go through the mountain pass? Eventually the man saw the angel, who said the messenger should thank the mule, a step more and the angel would have slew him. Pretty harsh, and what's with the usage of "god like a shaitan to him"? Well, shaitan (satan) just means adversary, and sometimes that's what God/universe/flying spaghetti monster can be. He's there to stop your progress because what you do goes against what is desired by It instead. The universe becomes an unplacable adversary because you are going the "wrong" (like we'll have any idea what that means to It) way.

Oh crap, i gotta study for midterms now. funtime over, back to work. maybe i'll get to post a story about this soon...

21. that was fascinating, NuttyFluffers
Much food for thought there. I haven't thought of the mule/mountain pass story in years. How apropos.

I'm looking forward to your story!

Come to think of it, I have one.

About six years ago I was burglarized--yes, while I was in the very next room! I had come in from a late-night swim. I had taken my shower and was lying on my bed, reading. I heard a noise outside my window but I thought it was an animal. How wrong I was: it was a burglar--a nervy one--watching where I was in the house.

He slit the screen and came in a window off the deck. I actually heard him rifling through papers but again--I thought it was my cat. I tried to get up to check for sure but I could not move. No matter how hard I struggled, I could not get up. I was perplexed about this but chalked it up to how a swim can totally sap one of any energy. It felt like a giant hand was holding me down.

Later I was able to get up and I saw my kitty cat standing inside by the window. It was logical to chalk the noise up to her.

A couple days later I discovered my purse was gone and also a computer that had been packed for a trip. It was full of computer goodies--all told at that time, worth around $3000. It was then that I discovered the screen had been slit.

Unbeknownst to me, there had been a rash of burglaries in these homes back in the mountain. This later came to light via a newspaper article. There had been 60 burglaries!

Furthermore, four days later, a man down the street walked into a burglary going on in his home and was shot in the stomach. He was in the hospital for months but thank heavens, he survived.

So my point of this story is that sometimes the resistance to an action can be very powerful--to the point of feeling like a giant hand is saying "Stop!"

23. Wow, Cher--I have one, too...
Thank goodness you couldn't get up--if it was the same guy that robbed one of your neighbors, you may have been shot in the stomach. So sorry for your loss, but really glad for that giant hand that said "stop."

This brought to mind a story.

A few months after my wedding, I was at the local mall. After locking the car and walking to an entrance, I thought of something I wanted to get out of the car, I turned to walk back--paused--and felt something say, "no--go inside the mall." So I did.

I wanted to return to the car to get a gf's makeup kit she had loaned me for my wedding. She worked for a popular makeup counter in the mall, one of the reasons I decided to stop was to see if she was working and return the kit to her.

Several times while I was there that evening, I wanted to go to the car, but something would say to me "not now" and I would go do something else. This went on for a couple of hours.

When I finally felt it was alright to go to my car, I found the glove compartment contents all over the floor, the trunk open and the radio gone. The car had been broken into and burglarized. They took my friends makeup kit, my back pack with new school books and any other bags that looked like they may contain anything.

While I was sick about the material losses for some time, I realized how protected I was. I believe that everytime I wanted to return to the car and something told me not to, was probably when the criminals were in my car. I could have easily walked right into the crime and been physically hurt. I wasn't.

With this in mind, the Universe, Angels, our guts, wisdom, intuition, etc. does lead and guide us to what is best for us--if we let it. With this in mind, I should take some time to rejoice when some things don't work out or I meet resistance, who knows what I'm being protected from?

Kind of like those times, you can't believe you are running late--you did everything to be on time. But somehow, everything seemed to be working against you. Then you get on the road and are detoured. Why? Because there was a horrible accident on the road--that could have been you, if you were on time. ;) Just something to think about.

I actually had shivers as I read that story. Brrrrrr!

I'm going out in the bright sunshine to warm up! And garden!

My burglary story has an odd ending, which I will write up later (after dark, when I can't plant anymore!) Sometimes I think this story should be written up as a short mystery but no one would believe it.
