What do you think? My husband has had two experiences quite recently, and I'm a little gabbered by them both.
1) He was at the office last week and thinking about his upcoming 25th high school reunion. He was thinking about calling Barb __, a classmate involved with the organization of previous reunions, and someone he hadn't spoken with in the five years since the 20th reunion. In that moment his cell phone rang and it was Barb calling about the reunion.
2) We have an old chair that he set out on the curb for somebody to take. It had once been a lovely chair, and its claim to fame was that it had been borrowed at a couple of weekend meditation retreats for use by Joshu Sasaki Roshi. Well, a young woman pulled up to our curb yesterday and my husband offered to load the chair into her car. As they were working, my husband told her the story about Roshi and also mentioned Buddhism and Roshi's relationship with Leonard Cohen. This woman, in his words, freaked out; "Oh my god, I was just thinking Buddhism and you said Buddhism and I was thinking Leonard Cohen, and you said Leonard Cohen." He said her eyes were wide and she looked hugely surprised. She'd never heard of Roshi before, but was a fan of Cohen's and she'd been exploring Buddhism. The chair was also something that she'd been searching for quite a while.
I don't know what to make of these events. Separately, I think each is a great story about synchronicity. Together, they make me wonder if something in my husband is waking up. We've also had a couple of evenings at home recently where it seemed to me that we were "of one mind."
Do any sensitives have opinions they'd like to share?
