I am posting this for a friend to get insight from this intuitive family

This is a dream that this dear lady had and it's completely occupied her thoughts since. Please feel free with your interpretation and I appreciate any and all opinions.






I had a dream the night before last night, that is really bothering me. I usually don't remember my dreams, but hopefully you can see why this is bothering me.

Dream:

What I remember was, my husband and I were with a group of people, (strangers I didn't know them. ) We were walking in a city, but this city was in empty. Skeleton buildings against the skyline. Really erie looking. erie and so quiet.

We walked for some time, when we came to an area that seemed familer to me. Walking closer to a building...it dawned on me

"I really know that building." We decided to go inside.

Walked through the doors and a feeling of Deja vu washed over me. It felt so good. It was a grade school I had gone to as a child, the early 1960s.

Walking down the hallway, I pointed out the room to my Husband. Said "That was the classroom I was in, the day Kennedy was shot in Dallas." I told him.

We walked further, and went into another class room, and along the walls of this classroom were blue books, all the same books. Odd that each shelf would have the same book." I thought to myself".

They (the books) appeared new. I pulled one off the shelf and turned it over in my hand to read the title.

"THEN AND NOW" was written in gold across the cover - midway down. Otherwise plain cover. Just the words "Then and Now"

I thumbed through the book, fanning the pages, quickly... so I was unable to read what was on the pages... I thought to myself that I would take this with me so I can read it...and at that point I woke up.

The "THEN and NOW" is what is bugging me. 1963 and 2006. What happened then that could be happening now? That has me bugged.

What struck me also were the books, shelves and shelves lined with them, by the way, the school building no longer exists, it was torn down years ago for a parking lot.

The books looked like the Gidion (sp) New testements you find in the dresser drawers in motels. Same like embossed lettering, about midway down on the book, off to the right hand side of the book. "Then and Now"

I had another dream just days after this one, and nothing since.

Dream as follows:


this too had a sense of history to it.

I dreamed, my ex husband who was abusive, came back into my life, and started his usual crap. This would be just a normal nightmare, toward the end of our marriage, he turned out to be my worst nightmare....but

The strange part of the dream, He had left the house and then returned wearing a Civil War uniform, seemed in remarkably good condition. Blue with gold sash. He was brandishing a rusty sword. Written on the uniform cap and insignia on shoulder..."Utah 74th."

Recall last dream, books were blue with gold lettering.

what does it mean?


Another bit of info...

Ex Husband was a Southerner. In fact was a proud 'rebel' so to speak, so the union uniform would be totally out of character for him. The sense 'fear, dread, and intense anger at him...that it was him after nearly ten years since our separation and divorce. I have not really thought about him for so long...Seems strange that it would be him to be the one to bring the message, in a civil war union uniform?

Did you get the star from buying a sticky? It's a great promotion. I'm plotting my own clever sticky.

"Utah 74th" could be an oldtime Calvary unit, they wore the same uniforms as the Union Army. Or, he could symbolize a National Guard Unit. If your ex was a 'rebel' he might be Minuteman material, and while the topic of using Natl Guard on borders wasn't current last month, the topic of 'Minutemen' border patrols was. Are you, or have you ever been in Utah? Have you fallen asleep to the History Channel? (Just asking, sorry)

Come to think of it, my vivid dreams ended right around (or just before?) Easter last month. Hmmm.

10. I was thinking that 7-4 may mean a date. "Independence Day"

Utah was a territory at that time. I think.

I have been to utah, yes but not recently.

Don't have cable. so no History channel, although I do read a lot of history, and the Civil War era, is fascinating to me. But had not been reading any books on the topic at the time.

The Ex would be a Minuteman type for sure. He is proud of his southern heritage. Also can be somewhat of a bigot.

2. I saw this on another forum

I can't help but think about the 60's and the duck and cover bomb drills we had to go through. We had to practice weekly and although the US was threatened with nuclear war, nothing ever came of it.

So if the outcome is the same as then we will have no worries in the long run. We will however be told to stock up on water, food and have shelter available. We never needed them in the 60's, I hope we won't need them now either.

That's all that struck me about this interesting dream.

4. Hey I did too

I think I first read this dream while I was cruising on Big Jim's Galactic Superwave BB just a couple of days ago.

Small world isn't it?

My reaction to it the other day was that Ecumenist's friend was anticipating another assassination, or that she was interpreting current events as another nuclear missile crisis. I think the books symbolize her belief that the underlying cause of the problem she's recognizing is the same "then and now". Her dream's eerie setting could symbolize the worst-case outcome. She was leading and teaching strangers, so perhaps she felt otherwise alone and unsupported in the beleif.

Ecumenist, pls send my regards to your friend and tell her that she's not alone!

3. How I interpreted this dream on first reading it....

I felt a sense of history being re-written and as sole official "knowledge" being allowed in the school. History being re-written by the powers that be along with strong undertones of fundy Christian evangelism dictating policy and attitude.

"Then and Now" I see as a merging of the 2 time stories into one told only by one source - the producers of these identical books will determine "what happened" then and "what is happening" now, what the interpretation of those past and present events will be.

Wandering through the eerie city-scape, walking with strangers, city empty of life and soul - not very different from how many people experience our fast changing world - sometimes it feels almost unrecognizable, strange, even threatening to us!

Interesting and, indeed, very unsettling dream - one that would occupy my mind if I had had it.

5. It does not sound good

Sounds to me like another prediction of an urban disaster, see the comments people made after
9-11

7. Conspiracy

A few weeks ago I got the feeling that information regarding the JFK assassination will come out after all the current scandals shake out. I posted about it a few weeks ago in this forum.
So like your friend's dream, I also see a connection between 1963 and 2004 -- just don't know what it is.
