I have restarted 12 step recovery - please pray for me
I am currently in a drug and alcohol long term treatment center in Lexington. I have a Family Court date coming up on the 20th of Sept. and my criminal case has been continued til 2-13-07, and will probably be dismissed if I comply with what happens in Family Court this week.

Thank you all for your past prayers.

9. Mandy ..
I struggle too. It is so hard to get over the idea that this is a personal failing.
I reached out today and she told me, we are on a quest. Just like the Knights of the Round Table, we have obstacles to overcome. Time and time again. It was encouraging to have it put in those terms.

Don't give up the quest. Peace be with you.

11. Mandy, I wish you strength and peace of mind.
25 years ago I ended my decade long slow suicide with alcohol and prescription drugs, so I know the struggle involved.

Please take good care and get yourself back to a healthy state - for you and for your loved ones.
It is not ecstasy on the other side - the pain is then real and present - but at least it is real pain, and accepting this in your life takes away all of the destructiveness of running from it all in drugs and alcohol.
It is 100% better living, 100% more joyful.

15. I did not attend the court date
I am waiting for mail from the court, since they now have my address. My lawyer said she's try for another continuance.

This program lasts for a year (residential). I may transfer to another program in Lexington, so I am taking life one day at a time these days. :)

18. Today is a good day!
We got some unexpected time off, so I beelined for the library computer lab.

Things are going well, except it is raining today. I will be at the Hope Center for a year or so if I complete. I might switch over to Chrysallis House, if I get feeling like my sobriety is strong enough. Just marked 4 months of sobriety on Tuesday.

Got registered to vote but waiting for my card. Also getting caught up on medical care. I haven't been since my son was born almost 10 years ago.

I am one grateful alcoholic today! :)

19. I'm so glad to hear it. Unexpected time off is always a
plus! Keep us posted, I'd like to hear more about your experiences that you feel comfortable sharing. It's great you're getting yourself healthy with medical care, too. Maybe a cliche' but if you have your health, you can do anything.

I'm really happy for you and proud for what you're accomplishing. Let us hear!
