Thanking the Universe for the abundance
  • It's a lovely day--sunny and cool--very fall-like--my favorite season.

  • I had my first apple of the season and I reveled in the flavor...as well as star in the center, which means so much to me.

  • I found $2 in the pocket of my skirt from the last time I wore it.

  • The bottled water machine gave me an extra bottle today.

  • I watched Studio 60 online during lunch and was nourished by Aaron Sorkin's brilliant writing.

  • I get to leave work early to have a meeting with nummy coffee at a funky coffee shop with some of my most pleasant coworkers from another office.

Sometimes it's the little things, no? There is abundance.

1. How lovely MorningGlow
I love days like that. I think it's really all about the little things, too bad I forget that so often.

7. It sure takes effort, I won't deny that
My class of witchiepoos and I often talk about how we don't express gratitude for the daily gifts we receive, so we're making an effort to recognize the little things, but we all agree that it's far easier to slip back into old patterns of grumbling about the minor--and major--annoyances and complain, complain, complain, instead. But the interesting thing is that the more I do it (express gratitude for even the little things) the easier it gets.

Now it's gotten to the point of being fun and funny, as it starts to meld with the serendipitous moments we've been talking about on other threads--like this morning, I couldn't get MorningGlow Jr. out the door on time for love or money. I sent him into the kitchen to say goodbye to dada as I stood in the living room, fretting that we were late. But it was just long enough for me to glance to my right and see my cell phone hooked up to the charger--I had forgotten to pack it. D'oh! Another thanks-to-the-Universe moment there, for sure! :hi:

2. Beautiful, MorningGlow
I try to step back and do this every day...just revel in the simple things. A beautiful sunset. A friend called. The rain, which nourishes the crops. Wonderful smells.

Living in the moment - there really is nothing like it. :-) :hi:

8. I LOVE rain
It breaks my heart when people gripe about it. My mom, who babysits my son while I work for da man, does that. So every rainy day I have to do damage control--MorningGlow Jr. parrots grandma's "yucky rain" line, and I tell him how humans, plants, and animals need it to rain so we can have water to live. That can be an uphill battle sometimes!

Anyway, yes, it's great to look around and see our beautiful world. It's another gorgeous fall day today! I will get out of this office at lunchtime to enjoy it more. :hi:

3. I'm glad that you're having such a lovely day, MorningGlow.
Living in the now is so important, and it's easy to get lost in the rush of everyday life.

I hope that you continue to have days like this and that you are able to continue to see the blessings.

9. Thanks, Dream!
Like I said upthread, the more I do it, the easier it gets. A great snowball effect! I hope everyone enjoys wonderful days ahead. It's so easy to get beaten down by our personal troubles, and hard to remember that "this too shall pass"--but those small blessings help put things in perspective. :hi:

11. Awww that's sweet!
What a great day for you--compound anniversaries! Snarf--I don't recall what actual day I met Mr. MorningGlow, also 10 years ago (but it's likely to be in my old journal), but we do have a running joke about our wedding anniversary. We were handfasted coming up on nine years ago (Oct. 4) and the following year we did the "actual" wedding. We tried for "a year and a day" but because of the weekend dates, it ended up being one day shy of a year (Oct. 3). So every year around anniversary time Mr. MG turns to me and asks, "When's our anniversary, again?" and I always answer, "Meh. October 3 or 4. Somewhere around there." I tell him he's lucky--he's got two chances to remember to buy me sumpin' shiny! :hi:

14. Can I please borrow some of your abundance?
Blech. I ran out. I STILL haven't found any new opportunities--at least not any that pay. Anything. My roommates left me with a fat, disgusting pile of chores--okay, nevermind. I practice gratitude-appreciation where I can, which isn't...very many places right this second. KAREN IS A BIG, FAT LIAR.

15. Oh dear!
Feeling like this?

You need one of these:

and one of these:

and some:

and if you still need cheering up (or at least a gross-out distraction):

Seriously, BlueIris, I'm sorry you're still down! Of COURSE you can have some abundance--as much as you want! And even more than that! It's all yours for the taking.

Hang in there. The change is coming for you. To quote my 2-year-old, who is most often the wisest person I know, "Don't worry. You will find it. I KNOW you will!"

In the meantime, have another:

17. I'm sending all the love and abundance I can muster your way, Blue Iris.
Here's hoping tomorrow you turn the corner toward the beauty and abundance that awaits you. You deserve it and it will happen! I'm visualizing that as I write this. And here's a  in case that helps for today.

16. A beautiful early fall day here, with a cool front on the way.
My husband is a constant source of joy and love.

My daughter is engaged to a guy we all love and trust.

My stepson continues to grow toward being a caring, thoughtful young man.

My sweet Sophie dog is still kicking at age 13.

I love my work.

I found a new drink I love: Pixie Dark Roast Mate' Latte

I'm healthier than I've been in a long time.

The universe is good and flows with abundance.

Thank you!

18. Excellent, TTLG!
Love those.

I would like to add that I am giddy that my weekly status meeting (usually a 1 1/2-hour snooze-o-rama) was cancelled today. And it's a lovely rainy day here. And we're getting pizza for lunch to celebrate a coworker's birthday. And there are cupcakes! The 6-year-old in me can hardly wait.
