Any chance you folks could send me some supportive energy?
I've been having a rough couple of weeks with my twin pregnancy. (I am 14 weeks, 5 days along!) I was having some traditional "morning sickness" stuff in my first twelve weeks, but things went absolutely bazonkers on my 10th wedding anniversary (Oct 5), which was 12 weeks and 1 day along when I ended up in the emergency room with spotting/bleeding after a four and a half month old kitten (declawed and fixed two weeks before!) used my unsuspecting belly as a landing/launch pad. A week later I was there again when a full day of vomiting got me dehydrated to the point of more spotting/bleeding. Now I'm having more problems (but so far no more emergency room visits) holding down appropriate levels of food and water -- I should be eating 3500 calories a day, and am lucky to keep down a thousand, while my water intake is decreasing steadily.

I am taking medications to help control these problems, and am not looking for medical advice. I could use some good vibes, though. These are very special, deeply wanted babies (after three previous miscarriages, and eight years of infertility stuff), and its a miracle that we're pregnant at all, let alone with twins. We had "help" getting them (egg retrieval date was July 26, 2006, which means all of my dates are calculated from July 12), and I'm terrified that my stomach issues are going to do them damage -- its been two and a half weeks since I've been able to do my pre-natal vitamin/supplements.

Part of me is beyond words convinced "everything is going to be okay" while another part of me is flipping out scared to death that something is going to go wrong. Plus, I'm *really* tired of throwing up!

Good thoughts? Positive energy? Some reassurance? Please? Thanks in advance!

1. Dearest Ida
I am sending you positive thoughts and prayers, for you and for your babies. I know how much you love them already. I don't know if this will reassure you, but as I was typing this, I had a strong feeling, accompanied by goosebumps, that things will be okay.

:hug:

2. Thank you, SeattleGirl! Two on-line friends pregnant with twins
recently ended up having their babies early -- one at thirty weeks, the other at thirty-four weeks -- which has really sent my anxiety level soaring! I'm fighting off the panic attacks with the reminder that these babies, here despite every odd being against them, are MEANT TO BE -- I just want to do everything in my power to make sure they are as healthy and happy as I can help them to be! The worst part is *knowing* they are already mischievous little brats who are enjoying this -- LOL! Mommy might end up with a nervous breakdown, but for them, its all fun and games! (Did I mention that their little "kickboxing" contests, visible on ultrasound, totally "kick off" the vomiting?) :eyes:

I appreciate the support! :hug:

5. Well, if the babies DO come early, you can certainly be assured
that the medical assistance available to preemies these days is absolutely awesome. I hope they continue to box it out until it's REALLY time for them to make their appearance, but again, if they decide to make an early entrance, you really can be assured that the care and medical attention they will need will be right there. My heart is with you and your babies, Ida.

4. Try to relax.
You sound pretty anxious, and who wouldn't be, but it might be a good idea to recline and listen to some healing music (classical, new age, meditation, jazz) and just let them kick it out. Get a puke bucket so you don't have to get up and run. Anxiety is not good for you or them. When my son was further along I danced with my belly to classical music. Turns out he loves classical and plays three instruments.

I will definitely send ya'll some healing rays. As they mature, the sickness should subside.
Here's intending relaxation, calm, happy, joyful shining health.
Sounds like you are going to have your hands full.

8. Oh dear
I had a slew of miscarriages and the one child I have I attribute to my Oriental Doctor's treatment and the following affirmation. . .

Whenever I got nervous about losing him I would put both hands on my belly and say. . ."Live always in wisdom and joy."

It really helped if only to calm my nerves but seemed to do more as well.

I'll send your babies light.

and wrapping you and your babies in a blanket of love and light. Close your eyes and imagine being enveloped in all the peace and love the Universe has to offer. Keep us posted on your development. Some of us who have never had children would love a vicarious experience.

11. Much white light, Ida!
Edited on Tue Oct-24-06 10:43 AM by MorningGlow
I too get the feeling everything's going to be fine, but lots of white light never hurt anybody! :)

For what it's worth, I've been there--not with twins, but with icky morning sickness and a mischievous prenatal bundle. MorningGlow Jr. actually TURNED HIS BACK every time the ultrasound technician tried to get a picture of him. The lil' stinker! And yes, he's every bit the stinker now he's on the "outside" as well--but just mischievous, thank goodness--not serial killer material or anything.

And you too will have all this fun soon enough--only double! :hug:

On edit: Oooh it was post #11--and I'm one of those big into 11:11 and 1:11, so that must be a good sign!

12. Done. Sending positive healthy energy to you and the twins.
If you're so inclined, you might consider posting your request in the "Prayer Circle Group (non-denominational)" here:

Just a side note: Sometimes when I send energy like that, I get a sense of how it's being received, whether it's going easily or whether there's some resistance or blockage or various kinds of sensations. I generally never get any information about how accurate those sensings are. Anyway, FWIW, I got a sense that those twins are just the sweetest little things.

14. Dear Ida, I am sending you positive

vibes of peaceful calm, joyful love and robust health for you and your babies. I too feel they are going to be all right...and don't sue me if I'm wrong, but I distinctly felt boy and girl. I hope you feel much better soon, both with your sickness (sheer misery!) and with the worry over your dear little ones.

Please keep us posted, and this thread kicked, so we can have a reminder to keep sending the love and light.

16. Healing, soothing light and energy
enfold you all.

As the prayer goes
The light of Love surrounds you;
The love of Love enfolds you;
The power of Love protects you;
The presence of Love watches over you.
Wherever you am, Love is.

The "morning sickness" tends to fade so it must be discouraging to have it get worse. When the kids grow up you must make them buy you the finest chocolates for all the calories they are costing you now.

Babies draw what they need from the mom. You'll be able to take the vitamins soon but it the meantime they are depleting your bodies store for what they need.

I spotted in mid-pregnancy too and it scared me but now that baby is all grown up, a healthy and happy man.

Here is something that has helped with health (and other) issues that seem beyond our control. Before you go to sleep "talk" to your higher self (and the babies) and ask for just what you need, to be able to eat and nourish yourself and your children, for your babies to flourish, to feel well and healthy...whatever it is. Visualize it too.
I had tumors shrink away, MS lesions fade and not return. Coincidence? Who knows. Sure surprised the doctors.

Twins do tend to come a little early. My son did because I have an oddly shaped uterus. (Heart shaped actually, very cute) I think you will go just over 37 weeks, you'll be HUGE and ready for their birth. Can you see it?

18. I'm with jbnow on the due date.
That's interesting that we both predict you will get to approximately 37 weeks. It might be closer to 36 by my count. My initial impression about your situation was, "Early...but not too early. Maybe a month or so?" Which could be seen as "right on time" for a pair of twins. Continued best of like, IB.
