I've been getting flamed all over the place on other sites for posting this, but my feeling about the world's situation overall right now is still--'kay, it's not positive, but the climate is stable. My impression of the Iran situation specifically is that Bush is being set up to take the fall here in some way, which is something we've predicted before around these parts. I don't see it "going nuclear," nor do I see a significant crisis looming. I just--I don't feel the potential for that at this time. Haven't since June of '05. To me, the Somalia move feels like a superficial one on the part of who or whatever wants Bush out. It's not intended to be anything more than smoke and mirrors, and yes, I know how horrifying that characterization is considering that it's costing actual lives, but that's the way I think the operators see it.

I'll admit, I'm thinking positive thoughts about the region, and praying for continued (relatively) calm waters there, but I'm not getting the sense that a catastrophe is on the horizon.

Iran's chart? We would be talking ancient.

Iraq is one of the oldest civilizations . at least it was semi civilized before the us marines got there.

How do you chart this stuff?

Solid reasoning, there, if you ask me, though I'm not sure if the chart information that can be gleaned from either the original appoximate date of Iran's inception (guestimated on that site to have been about May, 1501) or the more precise secondary chart begun February 1, 1979, is of much value.

A nation gets a new chart when there is a change in governmental principle. So Iran has had several charts. While events in one chart (wheels in wheels) can echo in the following chart, the chart for the change in principle is the operative one. So use the 1979 chart.

To "raid" a country's consulate is the same as invading their country. I'm not feeling really good about this, but I AM feeling better that after Tuesday's speech by Bush, even republicans are starting to yell and scream about what Bush is doing.
