Aaand now, rounding the last corner and heading into the home stretch...
It's MorningGlow by a nose!

T minus 8.5 and counting, folks--that's eight and a half working days till I'm free of the muck and mire of a stupid office environment!

Figured I'd start a fresh thread about the whole jobbo thing for a fresh moon phase. Can you feel the waxing? I know I can! (Look at all the positive manifestation threads on this forum! Beauty!)

Thanks again for all the good mojo, especially if the last thread dropped off before I had a chance to say thank you personally.

Rumpel, I think I missed saying thanks for your good vibes! And VSM, first copy (as Notorious Bohemian so kindly deferred) of This Old Shithole (working title), inscribed with a personal message to you and only you, signed me, on your doorstep ASAP!

I made my departure announcement to "the gang" at our weekly status meeting yesterday. The general consensus was, and I paraphrase here, "Meh."

Of course, some of the nicer folk I consider friends are upset, and we talked about it, but the majority of people here blinked their cow eyes and went their merry way.

I found out later, however, that one of them started a group e-mail (to everybody but me) with "Wow--can you believe it? I'm shocked!" and others responded by saying, "I'm surprised too but I wish her well." Have any of these folks said that to my face or by e-mail? Ummmmm...!

And now I must ask myself WHY I stuck around here for three friggin' years, with people like this! Sheesh!

:eyes:

Anyway, tick tick tick and all that. The countdown is on till I can :woohoo: for being officially sprung on 1/31...just before the full moon...ahhhh... :)

2. Yippie! Hooray! I am so thrilled for you!
Sounds like leaving was the BEST thing to do, since they're behaving like slugs!

Oh, and I do want an autographed copy, ya know - it's not like I know any published authors. I can hardly wait to read it!

11. MG ...
This is going to open a whole new world for you. I assume you'll be setting aside some time for *work*? Think about joining some community clubs or meetups. I'm not bragging, but I do know a published author. Met her at a Toastmasters meeting. People at those meetings are very supportive. From LOA/AH, I know a screenwriter (who has sold a few) and another woman who is trying to sell or publish her book. Whatever interests you is the way to go, if you ask my opinion. Grow yourself.

I'm really excited to see where you go.

6. Congrats...I'm really really happy for you!
I still remember vividly the day I left my 7 year "jobbo" that was killing my soul. I literally felt like I was walking on air as I made my way out to the parking lot to my car. It was surreal...I kept thinking, this is the LAST time I'll get in my car and I'm NEVER coming back. Wow, my heart was so full it was ready to explode!

I love your description of them "blinking their big cow eyes"...your sense of humor is wonderful! But it also points out that you, dear MG, with your adventurous soul and loving, happy heart, have NO business being there another minute. Your time there is UP! Tick, tock, tick, tock, then BING! Par-tee!

Have a great countdown...the anticipation can be delicious in itself. :)

7. You're too kind!
And you're absolutely right--I am SO done here. I must admit I did get a little misty when I was talking to a friend/coworker who was truly shocked by the news and quite stricken, but only because I will be leaving behind some really great, kind-hearted, intelligent, and creative people. Operative word: SOME!

As for the others...to borrow a reaction..."Meh."

There is one emotion I must divest myself of, though--the anger that I am removing myself from the situation and thereby letting the evil ones "win". I know that's not a very enlightened way to feel, but at heart I'm a fighter (and a stubborn bee-yotch) and, as an Indigo scout, a big proponent of seeing justice done. So to "give up" (I know it's not really giving up but in my weaker moments that's what I think) and letting these cretins do their happy dance that I'm gone...well, sometimes I get peeved.

I will get over it, however. Probably on the first day I'm home, when MG Jr. and I can sleep till 9:00!

P.S.: Speaking of par-tees--any astrology forum buds in the Rochester, NY, nabe on Saturday, Feb. 3, a friend/coworker is having a REAL party for me (not the shallow sendoff lunch I'll get here)--you're all invited!

know what they say, "Living well is the best revenge." Let it fuel your writing ambition, with fantasies (future realities) of them brushing their teeth, getting ready for another day in Hellville (and your lovely friends having all moved on to better things, of course)...turning on the Today show to see:

"And now, we introduce the best-selling author and Indigo scout, MorningGlow, to talk about her new book that is selling like crazy in 42 languages!"

:toast:

9. Okay I PROMISE not to overtake this threat for you MG
As some of you may or may not know, I'm one of her co-workers. I'm one of the ones who have done nothing but cry and cry. We've cried together, MG and I. I will miss her more than she will miss me that's for sure, but there is no way in hell she's getting rid of me or our friendship. We've become 'sisters' of sorts in this crazy way of meeting up together. As my mother always told me "Everything happens for a reason", The reason my good friend MG came to work with me, is because, I feel we both were destined to meet, and have our lives intertwined together in a high spiritual sense. We've done that, and now it's her time to move on.

I will survive in the beloved (NOT) hellhole. I have to stay. The indigo in me, will dig in her heals, and make the lives of the piss head bosses a living hell. Ask MG, I'm the bold one, I'm the one who see injustice and WILL NOT let it go. I will scream, and yell and made my voice heard to who ever is in ear shot of my voice. }( I don't just sit by quietly. My biggest problem is my mouth. And also I am bipolar. Together the combination can sometimes be explosive.

We are going to PAR TY on Feb 3rd, have some fun and not have to keep looking at our watches in case the dick head bosses are timing our lunch out together. So screw them. Their not invited. (Oh hell MG, we could invite them, then ignore them or give them bad wine and food.) Okay fine I'm just kidding. I have such anger towards these guys, but I will endure. If they think cause MG is leaving, that I could be next, WRONG. Na, I'm there to make their lives a living hell to the best of my ability!!

So here's to you MG :toast:  YEA YEA YEA!! I can't wait until I can take a vacation day, and come out and visit you and MG jr.

Love ya girl,

Oceanspirit

14. Thanks, VSM!
Very perceptive about outgrowing these folks! I was just talking with OceanSpirit yesterday, when she was having such a rough time, as well as our photographer, who was also having a bad week, about that. Because the troglodytes (the "managers") are in charge, they say they are right and the rest of us are wrong. That can be so detrimental to our self images, because the ones in charge set the standard for what's acceptable in a "good employee".

But they've got it backward--the ones who are more spiritually aware and have stronger ethics (and who can't bear to stand idly by and watch injustice run rampant) speak up (me, OceanSpirit, our photographer, and one or two other folks). When we speak up, we get labeled as "troublemakers" and are told that we're "not a good fit" for the place.

Well, I say GOOD! I don't WANT to "fit" with the reprehensible people who run this place. I would be offended if anyone said I was just like them!

I'm so sorry to hear about your hospital stay. Hope everything's okay.

15. Your right MG
I told you, to pack your crap up and get the hell out of there, while you can. LOL. I bet these ladies are so sick of the damn drama happening in this place.

Hey MG, I got a great idea. I think you should write a book about the adventures in a hosital work environment. Humm, now wouldn't that just frost their nuts. (sorry)

Writing a book about the place would force me to relive it.

Besides, nobody would believe it.

Hm--maybe I should make it a comedy...

16. That confirms it
Yup, your happiness and excitement confirms you are doing the right thing. Life's too short to waste in a place that makes you miserable, especially when you have other options.

You know, when I left that 23-year career of mine, I thought I might shed a tear in the parking lot - I did have some great co-workers.
Nope - I drove out with a huge smile. Of course my pharmacist had goofed up and given me Prozac instead of the prescribed Prilosec for suspected ulcers, but I digress.

:woohoo: Countdown to the happy dance in your living room!! I'm so happy for you!!!!!!!

17. Mmmmm...druuuugs....
Now there's a thought!

Thanks, vanboggie, for the support! Right about now I'm running out the clock (T minus 3 days and a bit), thinking about packing but being too lazy to do it just yet, and trying to stay above the fray (it just never stops...) until I'm divested of this place.

I too have some great coworkers (yes, there are some diamonds amid all these lumps of coal I talk about so often), and I will miss seeing them and talking to them on a daily basis, but I know that I will manage to stay in touch with them after I'm gone, so that's not a worry.

Bring on the living-room dancing! :woohoo:
