Okay, how do you manifest?
I'm pretty sure that somewhere someone posted a thread on how to properly manifest. Can anyone point me to the thread (or to a comparable link)?

I don't mean the one about how to write down new moon manifestations, I mean the one about meditating and then manifesting.

Thanks!

:hi:

You'll find a lot of proponents of "The Secret" on this board--but because I only have a secondhand knowledge of that technique, I'll let others explain it.

But as for me, I manifest by going into alpha and simply thinking "I would like this to happen (or come to me or what have you)", adding "for the good of all and harming none", and then releasing the thought. Dwelling on it too much binds it to you. The hardest part is removing doubt, because that's human nature--"I want this...but..."--if you know what I mean.

Here's a good example: On Christmas Eve, when we got out of work early, I was driving to the grocery store before heading home, listening to Christmas songs on the radio. I was in alpha (not intentionally--just doing the automatic thing of driving) and thought, almost randomly, "Gee, I haven't heard 'Some Day At Christmas' this season, and it's one of my favorite holiday songs. I'd really like to hear that before the season's over with..."

Sure enough, that afternoon I heard it on the radio.

FOUR TIMES. In the span of about 45 minutes!

I consider that a great example of releasing a wish after making it. I wasn't clinging to it, desperately wanting it--I just thought it would be nice to hear the song. Sure made me laugh at how well I manifested it!

When I was newer to paganism and witchcraft, I used to do spells with a lot of paraphrenalia--tools, candles, time of day, phase of moon, rhyming chants, etc.--but I've gotten away from that somewhat. I still do it, but I have realized that like anything you get used to by doing it often, it gets easier with fewer trappings. The tools are just something to keep you focused. So they can be good to use to help you concentrate.

As always, you have to noodle around and find what works best for you, I guess! :hi:

On edit: Forgot! D'oh! Asking the folks on this board for good mojo to help you manifest something can be the most effective technique of all! They are GOOOOOD!

7. Oh! Yes! Sorry!
I'm talking about the alpha brain wave state. Normally we're in beta (waking life, active thought). When we meditate, or even when we do routine tasks that we don't have to think about (housecleaning, getting ready for work in the morning, etc.), or be "on", so to speak, we slip into alpha--a different brainwave pattern. When artists create, they are in alpha. (I'm a writer, and when I'm in alpha I get "in the groove" and the material "just comes to me".) There are also deeper patterns (theta and delta) that you can get into in a really REALLY deep meditative state.

I like your story about concert tickets! That's a great one! No row in front of you--snarf!

3. I can do the radio thing too
Edited on Tue Jan-23-07 01:18 PM by dist22dem
I'm not sure how I'm doing it though. I can tell as soon as I turn it on if it's a good or bad song day just by the first song I hear. If it's one that was playing in my head when I turned on the radio, then I know I'll hear songs I like all the way home. If the first song is one I don't like, it's always hopeless to look for ones I do, and I just stick in a CD.

Even though I feel like I can manifest little things, (not sure how), one time I did manifest a "dream come true" wish. There's a band I love whose concerts I have attended every time I could. I've always wanted front row tickets, but could never afford them. A few years ago, they came to town and I had the money for front row tickets. (I rarely splurge on anything for myself, so for me, this was a real treat.) I was convinced it was the year. I ordered the tickets online, accidentally chose the wrong price range and ended up in the back. I couldn't believe it.

So I bought and sold tickets online and worked my way up to the 2nd row, but still felt convinced I would get front row seats. Then a radio station had a contest (7th caller type of thing). In one day, I was the 6th caller three times.

Finally, the day of the concert arrived and I resigned myself to the second row (not too shabby and I got the tickets at a great price). I walk into the stadium, get to my seat and...there was no row in front of me. I DID have front row tickets. And I just had the "I knew it!" feeling! (Had a great time at the show, too!)

I always felt convinced that somehow, I made that happen.

4. Being in the present moment helps, too, I think
Visualization helps, but the certainty grounded within your own being is vital, I think. When something is to manifest for me, it is something I feel within--the feeling is like a unity with everything--and yes, incredible things can happen, things that your brain tells you can never be.

5. So you have to believe in your heart and soul it is true
even when your brain doesn't? So, in a nutshell, I need to "shut off" my brain when I'm trying to visualize what I intend?

6. Yes
I've found an Eckhart Tolle practice helpful in this way. When I start meditating and thoughts rush in, I "step aside" as it were, and watch the thoughts, much like Tolle describes watching the pain body (which is a collection of trapped emotions within your being, tangled with thoughts and old programming). I find that if I do that, I can get deeper into my meditation and can feel the essence.

9. Every source I've ever read or heard agrees that our brains can obstruct metaphysical development.
Our brains were designed for use in physical reality. Alternate states of consciousness don't feel "normal" to our brains, at first. Our brains can become accustomed to "shutting off" or stepping out of the way, for periods of time.

Imagination is one bridge to nonphysical states of consciousness. Imagination is often called the seat of power, because whatever we can imagine we can manifest.

Sleep is another bridge to nonphysical reality. That's why lucid sleep is so very fascinating. I've had some wonderful manifestation experiences using lucid sleep techniques.
