The Synchronicity Sisters
A friend and I always have many synchronicities but usually they're not about each other. I've known this friend for about 10 years.

We get together every weekend to work on our houses, both of which could use some organizing. This weekend we cleaned and organized our basements. On Saturday we worked on my friend's basement and on Sunday we worked on mine.

The first oddball event was when I was on my way to her house at about 8:30 a.m. I stopped at a Dunkin' Donuts for coffee and decided to call to see if my friend wanted me to get her anything. I was still sitting in my car, dialing on my phone, when I looked up and who is just pulling up right next to me? Yeah, my friend! How odd, to arrive at a Dunkin' Donuts within a minute of each other.

The next "head scratcher" came a few hours later when we were working at her house. I asked her, "Do you have any envelopes?" I had some notes and other various sized paper and I wanted to put them all in the envelope so I wouldn't lose anything.

My friend said yes and gestured at a big stack of envelopes. I selected one from the stack and was surprised to see it had an address on it. The envelopes had all appeared to be blank, unused envelopes. But this envelope was addressed to me! It was typewritten and addressed to me at my old address. This meant the envelope was over seven years old.

How strange--to pull out one envelope from a huge stack and then see it addressed to oneself!

3. I have a sister, myself.
She is the daughter of a customer of my ex-husband...that's how I met her. She and her husband bought a house half a mile across bare desert from us, and we lived that close for about 6 years. I didn't get to know her well then; I knew we had a lot in common, but one thing we had in common was introversion, and we didn't seek out company.

My marriage crashed suddenly, and two weeks before moving day I was playing around on the 'puter and found a yahoo group, and joined. She spotted me even past my screen name, I told her privately what was going on in my life, and we've been fast friends ever since.

We share the same name. No big deal; although the name is more common than it used to be, it was rare for a girl to have that name when we were born. She's 2 months older than I am.

We share many of the same interests, and if you look back on our lives, we had very similar, unusual lives as kids; about 10 miles apart. We communicate in bits and pieces, never needing to finish a thought aloud. A few years in to our friendship, I happened to come across something at her house that included her middle initial. I looked at her; I raised my brow. She looked, and raised her brow right back. I'd never asked her middle name, but we share that, as well. We burst out laughing and rolled our eyes.

5. I just remembered another sister
I came to know her via another friend I'd met at a garden forum. Get this:

--she lives just down the street from me
--she is a major gardening fanatic
--she works for the same place I used to work
--our cats (2 each) are both very important to us
--we both love textiles and collect them

One day I went over to Nora's house to tell her I'd just purchased this fantastic encyclopedia called Flora. She had it sitting on her desk. She'd just purchased it, too.

As if that wasn't enough, we went into her kitchen to have a little lunch. There, hanging on her kitchen cabinet, was a towel. I had just purchased the same towel but in the napkin version.

6. I have 5 sisters (actual birth sisters) and these types of things
seem to happen with all of us quite a bit, too!

I had a very interesting and spooky happening several yrs ago:

My best friend, Betsy, had been married to her next door neighbor, childhood sweetheart, and love of her life when he died suddenly in a fall. His name was Randy.

Randy's sister, Nancy, had been very close to Betsy since childhood but chose to separate from her family all together over some differences they had had. This meant separating from her good friend and sister-in-law ,Betsy, as well.

Anyway, I take a train from one location only once each year to go to a show in town. When I boarded the train this night, it was very crowded and no seats were empty so, I slid into the first seat. There sitting opposite me was Nancy! I had not seen her in many, many yrs. She began to ask me about how Betsy and Randy were doing. I felt that I was in a bad dream, as I realized that Nancy was not aware that her favorite brother,Randy, had died several years ago.

As I said, "Oh Nancy, I'm so sorry I thought you knew. Randy died 5 years ago"...they called out her stop. The shock and pain on her face was so sad! As she stood up I quickly scrawled my number down and said, "Please, call me Nancy so we can talk some more".

I was so worried because I knew that she had not wanted contact with her family for so long. I knew that she was all alone with this sad news. I could have kicked myself for not jumping off the train with her.

Well small miracles do happen! She did call me several days later and I was able to talk with her about her brother's death. The GREAT gift that came out of this was that she got reunited with her long lost friend Betsy thru this happening.
