Has anyone here ever contacted someone on the Other Side? And

if so how did you do it and how did it go?

I dropped a note to one psychic, and I am trying to track down my old college roomie because she had a psychic counselor she swore by.

I really want to talk to my mother again, to know that everything is and will be all right. (After all, who can tell you that better than your own mom?)

1. Not like you mean.

I have had one person do a reading for me; we were participating in a "psychic fair" that was a non-profit fundraiser for a cause. A bunch of eclectic offerings; I was reading cards. During lulls, we read each other for fun. The psychic to my left "read" me and commented that there was someone recently passed who was hovering near by, worried about me. (I was working through a pretty devastating personal crisis at that time). I "knew" who it was; a man I hadn't seen in 15 years, who'd passed 2 years before. My first husband, the father of my sons. He didn't "talk" to me; I talked to him a few times, when I sensed his presence. Mainly to let him know that I'd forgiven him, and that I was sorry I hadn't come to see him during his illness. While he didn't talk, he radiated a protective comfort, and I knew his concern was about my present crisis, not our past relationship issues.

A couple of times I've done specific meditations to talk to people from my past. I didn't hear words, but I felt their presence and they communicated in feeling, rather than thought.

2. I just put a request out (mentally)

And sometimes I hear from them, sometimes I don't.

One has to be open to how the message comes in. Could be symbols, could be through another person, could be a dream, could be a book.

3. My sister "channeled" our maternal Grandmother last July.

The session had begun in a completely different direction: she was communicating with the Sylphs on my behalf, and then it was "Maw wants to talk to you."

There were enough things in the conversation that only She and I would know that I am satisfied that it WAS Her!

Yeah, it was pretty spooky, but the love outweighed the fear. "There are people Over Here who need looking after" was something that I found to be just like Her to say!

I've been learning about working with my ancestors for the past few years, and it has been a really beautiful discovery and addition to my spiritual life which I'd highly recommend to anyone. Both my parents have died and it has helped me deal with that, not to mention other benefits.

You can do small services for them by setting out pictures, lighting a white candle and offering them water, cold coffee and some of their favorite food and drinks. Then talk to them. I do this pretty regularly, about once a week. My experience has been that I will often dream of my deceased family members, sometimes relatives I haven't thought about for a long time who died when I was young. They offer me support and advice in my dreams. Since doing this I have a sense of comfort and protection that, well you just have to experience.

It is quite easy to create the channel for them to come thru for a visit. And, yes, it is very comforting. They are all there for you and will come thru. My experience has been that many times those that I least expected to stopped in for a 'visit'did. Two of my great aunts came thru to me, and I had to describe them to my older sister (who's still living) before I could determine who they were.
Then, like a childhood memory, they came back to me.

Speaking with them and also lighting a candle is VERY helpful.

7. I know one

She is GREAT! But, she talks with the other side, she can't contact people, it is whoever shows up to talk. The first time she read for me it was my aunt that recently passed (knew her name, that she (my aunt) had been a dream talking to me the day before, and many other things). The second time, it was just friendly spirits who were chatting her up and giving me info thru her. So, with her it would be a "hit or miss" as to who would come through.

But don't discount your OWN ability!!! You may be able to hear your mom for yourself! If you meditate (I try, but I am not very good because my mind never shuts up!), you may want to let your mind wander and don't TRY so hard to hear her, let it come naturally. Keep in mind that I cannot contact the other side, so others who can will have much better advice than me., but I thought I would offer up one process I have heard about.

10. I have two people who I want

to contact. One is my brother, and the other is my grandmother. I have a message for my brother. We lost him about 20 years ago.

If I post a photo of him here on this thread, then maybe someone with psychic abilities could contact him. There are quite a few people here with psychic abilities, and I would trust the awesome people here, much more than someone I don't know.

And since the disruptors don't come around any more, it's become a much more peaceful place here.

We could meditate on this together.....maybe there's a message I could take to my mom, who grieves to this day.

11. sort of -- I think

a number of years ago - after my grandmother died I had this dream...

a little background - my grandmother did not drive, so after my grandfather died, his car was suppose to go to me -- but my grandmother gave it to my uncle for one of his second wife's kids. Personally, I didn't care one way or the other -- however this did kick up a bit of a fuss with my parents

then my grandmother died -- and alot of "fuss" between my dad and uncle came to a head -- mostly because of uncle's wife-#2 crap.

ok the dream: It was a few months after my grandmother died -- in my dream I was with my family in a late 1940's type car, black. We were driving down a street where we use to live, and turned the corner down a side street. On one side of the road was a brook that flowed through a large pipe that acted like a walking bridge across the brook.

My dad parked the car on one side of the brook and we all go out -- from the other side of the "bridge" my grandmother appeared -- we all moved towards the middle of the "bridge"

It appeared that my grandmother was talking to each of us, but I couldn't hear what she was saying to the others -- she turned to me and said "the car should have gone to you"

then the dream ended...

What struck me as this being a "contact" was the running water and bridge and the fact none of us "crossed the bridge" entirely -- just met in the middle -- plus that I couldn't hear what she was saying to the others

as far as I know -- the rest of my family hasn't mentioned having a similar dream

sidenote: I was born in 1955 - and have never been in a late model '40s type car, my grandfather's car at the time was a 70's Ford Nova model - white

13. I have always been able to see and hear people on the other side

It's always been a part of who I am - but I cannot tell anyone else how to do this. I have no idea. :)
