If any of you are registered over there, would you consider correcting some really horrendously misguided posts with respect to Al Gore. They are at the bottom (about post 95 or so) of her most recent article posting to her blog, "Dates to Watch." I keep hoping someone will correct them, but instead, it seems a handful of others are piling on. I'm not registered, or I would post a very politely informative, tactful, yet firm reply (and yes, it is really bugging me). I know I should blow it off, but I enjoy browsing Nancy's site and this propagation of a blatant bunch of mistruths is depressing to me.... Thanks

Regarding Al Gore, I personally think he’s a complete hypocrite, and I find it hard to understand why anyone would make excuses for him. Part of the “green” thing is not to occupy more space on the earth than you need, nor to use more resources than you need. Need is a key word here.
I must admit that I’ve not done the research to get the exact square footage of his house, how many people reside there, the number of buildings on his property, nor what the buildings are used for. Perhaps I’m missing something. Does he farm? Is that what all the excess is for, taking care of animals? How much of that space, both interior and exterior does he need?
I believe the truth is that he is married to an extremely wealthy heiress and they live an excessive life (home size, etc.) because they are wealthy, are used to it and believe they are superior and deserve it. Even though he is supposedly buying green energy, he seems to me to be buying way too much of it.
I also believe that Gore is part of the huge, sick machine that runs the world. Republicans or Democrats, they’re all on the same ship. And I believe that ship is destined to end up at the bottom of the sea – for the horrible energies that are fueling it are about to disintegrate from their own center of foul, putrid acid. The disintegration has already begun.
Before people get angry at me, let me say I was a big Gore fan and voted for him. The more I learn, though, in a big picture sense, the more I believe that none of this thing we call g-o-v-e-r-n-m-e-n-t can survive alongside decency and morality. I also believe we will collectively create the replacement. I opt for true equality, so be it.
this one is a couple of posts later... are these two posters confusing Kerry with GOre?

What I remember about Gore is that he walked away frrom the battle and he NEVER explained why. He walked away and left us to our fate. To this day he has never expained why. I suspect that somehow someone he loves was threatened and so he folded-my other thought is that yes he is one of the power people and doesn’t care what happens in the world as long as he stays wealthy and his children never have to scratch and can always speak softly and smell sweet because they have people to do the work. The little aside yesterday about the completed bases in Iraq and the “success” that the administration talks about says it all. And Democrats as well as Republicans support this. I believe that these are dark times and the most brutal warriors will win this round. Gore, Clinton,Obama will go along with the real power or be killed, bodily or spiritually through character assasination. A rebellion is building but is not yet here and in the mean time wealthy people cannot and must not be trusted because they will do whatever is necessary to maintain their positions. This is how I see Gore, Bill and Hillary Clinton. Sadly I don’t believe that anyone with their feet on the ground could ever reach a position of power.
So, once again, I know I should blow it off, but I enjoy browsing Nancy's site and this propagation of a blatant bunch of mistruths is depressing to me....
