4. well
Last Friday we had an incredible rain storm with 30 mile an hour gusts and a power line at the end of the road snapped and was swinging in the breeze and arc-ing all over the place. Sparks were flying everywhere. The telephone pole caught fire and was incinerated. We were without power for about 4 hours but the worst thing was my land line went dead until Tuesday.

I posted about it on the Merc. retro thread here:

5. maybe now people's computers and email will work
i tell you my mail was out more than in yesterday - our hosting provider decided to move servers the 1st part of this week.

A friend erased his 230GB USB drive (for future reference: either it's nothing but a backup or you buy two of these, to backup the backup) on Saturday - which was just 1 of 100 things to go wrong.

That's right, in less than 3 seconds he deleted 230GB of stuff, by accidentally reformatting the wrong disk.

17. I know, a quick format only erases the FAT
but the problem then becomes where to store the *recovered* files once the fat is rebuilt- which must be done in a non-destructive manner. The second-largest hard drive in the vicinity was a mere 65GB.

Hence my advice: if you're gonna use a 300GB USB drive as a regular disk, you really want to back it up onto a second 300GB drive, or you'll be in a world of hurt if something goes wrong with the first.

18. no kidding.
I watched it happen! Then had to work fast to keep things calm.

It gets better: my friend doesn't speak English as a first language so it was that much more difficult to convince him that this was a pain, but not an unmitigated disaster. He's an IT guy who works routers. That didn't stop him from thinking he knows more than me about my area of expertise, btw: and he's one of these people who goes full speed ahead right into the next brick wall.

But I was a very good duck, and let it roll off my back, didn't let it bother me. It's his loss if he doesn't trust me.

After weeks of not hearing back from ANYbody (work-related), I finally got an e-mail this morning from a client saying she's going to get back to me about a job that could generate several hundred $$ shortly. Here's hoping the other folks I've been hunting will come out of hiding now!

10. I've noticed an almost ... mild aphasia ...
... over the last week. Someone would tell me something, and I'd respond to an entirely different question then what they asked. Or, they'd tell me a number and I'd type it in totally dyslexic-ally, or repeating phone numbers - I'd blank out and spout something the opposite of what my brain was thinking.

I was starting to wonder there for a second if Alzheimer's was coming on fast n' furious.

Also, I gave my notice at my job last week out of frustration, decided to chuck it all and move out of state when my lease is up in May. Yesterday I get a call out of the blue from a headhunter who has a prospect locally for me, and one of the real estate agents at my part time job casually stopped by my desk last night and asked me if I was ready to start looking at houses.

 Just --- bizarre. :hide:

11. So what does this mean?
Will I be able to leave the house without going back inside 3-4 times before pulling the car out of the driveway?

Will I not lock my child inside the car again? Yes, I did this last week.

Will our family health improve? We've all been knocked around by bad-ass maladies.

I sure hope so. This retro hasn't been exactly bad, but I can stand a change in some particular energies.

14. Did you all have a Mercury Direct dream last night?
I'm not going to highjack this thread! but just a reminder that the dream you had last night is important. Especially if any of you paid attention to the dream you had when Merc went retro. I really don't have time to analyse the dreams this time because I just started school and have alot of work to get back to. If you really are interested in the dreams, you can hook up with a teleclass I'm doing in a few weeks, but otherwise - work on them. They provide so much insight into what is going on in your life. I can't begin to express how important they are.

Otherwise, I lucked out when my car's coolant light came on BEFORE I left Las Vegas and drove through the desert to Los Angeles for my class. It cost me but it was better than breaking down on the way. So my little Mercury (my chart ruler) was protective of me.

Oh, but one of my website's is off the map and we can't find it - my server sees it and keeps saying that it's the separate computers that aren't picking it up.

We made it through!!! :toast:

I'd say you are right IHAD. It's like you become used to the energy if you have a lot of it in your natal chart; then when the same planet comes transiting, as they say, it's no big whup. I always use the analogy, it's like painting a brown wall brown (in the case of Saturn).

I guess I should be thankful then for all of my Saturn energy. Poor Saturn -- what a sad analogy -- "painting a brown wall brown". :( I wonder if there's anyone who loves Saturn...

It's weird that I'm actually feeling compassion for a planet. I'm an empath to the extreme! :silly:

27. I love Saturn
I love all the planets. Keeping them in balance is a much bigger chore.
The most common strong planet in successful people's charts is their Saturn placement. It's what allows them to work towards getting it together and keeping it that way. It's the taskmaster, sometimes it frustrates us to action. It's the glue.

I'm sorry, too, Dream. It doesn't sounds like that's what you want. My life so far, for the most part, can be described as that, too. You know a fair a bit about it.

I do have Moon in Cappy (conjunct MC, but from the 9th) square Saturn in the 12th. That's a pretty heavy Saturnian aspect...but it's definitely not as much as you have!

Don't forget, though, we need people like you...the stable, supportive, caring and spiritual type. Your 'work' has brought so much to us in this forum. I know I have been in awe of what you are able to find, to bring to us here, and how much even I have gotten from those posts. I know so many others have been affected positively by your work and your presence here. :loveya:

31. Looking back.....
OK these are the dates for the recent merc retrograde --

Mercury turns retrograde February 13th at 10° Pisces
Mercury turns direct March 7th at 25° Aquarius

Here's my tale of woe:

On February 12th I put in a large order for some materials crucially needed for my business. The person taking the order was obviously sick with a cold and I worried that she might mess up the order, so I was patient with her and gave careful instructions. I expected it to arrive within 5 days since I am close to the warehouse it was coming from. Sure enough she got the phone number wrong and supposedly this is why the freight company sent the order back to the supplier. 10 days have passed.

So I call the company and get on the phone with a rude individual who immediately launches into how it was all my fault since I gave the wrong phone number on the order. Belligerent and aggressive the whole time. And then he goes, so do you want to put the order back through or what? And I say OK, but I need an assurance that this won't happen again, as I am desperate for this order. I can't afford any more delays. So then he assures me don't worry, everything is in stock, I should get it in a week. I give him more phone numbers.

When nothing arrives after another week I call the company again and am told the guy cancelled my order without any sort of notification. The rep is very apologetic this time, and she understands that the man I spoke to deliberately cancelled a very large order. She is not happy. So then I say please try again, and how soon can you get it to me. 2 days, she says. So the order finally arrives 2 days later, on March 8 (Merc direct on Mar 7). The company took 15% off for the excessive delay.

Bottom line--an order that should have taken 2 days to arrive took almost 4 weeks--coinciding closely with mercury retrograde. :banghead:

yes I am glad Mercury Retrograde is over.

34. It's uncanny
how stuff like this happens in merc retrograde. Since I started paying attention to it the last few years I've seen a definite pattern. Guess I could figure out how to avoid some things coinciding with it, but it always sneaks up. Usually I'm in denial until something like this screw-up and then I think, oh yeah, thanx Mercury.

As others have this experience we must not all be crazy.

Did I tell you this one?

Went to work at a flower shop 2/9 for Valentines. Merc went retro 2/13.
I did not dare peep a word of it at the shop. Wanted to see how things went.
Valentines is notorious for screw ups anyway. We had plus 1,200 deliveries in two days .. 2/13 and 2/14. There are always problems with those many deliveries. And people don't know to put water in the vase. I heard the sales woman arguing with the disatisfied customers. ogaw .. By the middle of last week I had to tell them it was Mercury's fault. They were soooo relieved!
Yeah. Stuff is back to 'normal'.

Crankiness is not due to a void moon. It is something more significant; probably Uranus or Mars. Hard to tell without complete birth data.

38. thank you
for that pinpoint accuracy on timing in my little story. Although I'm not an astrologer things like this have happened with great clarity re astrology in my life...many times. Now I can often see the patterns working. So I am trying to put a more positive spin on mercury retrograde--I do see how it is a good time for reflection and revisiting things that should be revisited. But when this kind of setback happens on the more mundane level...can't help but associate it with negativity. Mercury is certainly a yin-yang influence (hence "mercurial").

:) cheers

43. I really can't find much good in Mercury Rx
However, the one thing I do find consistently is that long-standing problems often get solved suddenly. As Cassie says, it does make one slow down and be more sure of what they are doing. I see that as a spinoff however.

39. Mercury which was good to me during his retrograde, got me after.
My sad story began before the retrograde period but I just found out about it. I had to re-register my domain name for one of my websites in January. I switched companies, thinking to save around $30. Silly me. the transfer never went through because they used my old email address, even though I put my new one down on the application. So my old company automatically renewed and without calling them (Duh!), I just emailed them to stop payment because I had transferred the name.

Well, it didn't transfer, and now if I want my website name back it will cost me $135.00!!!

Gone. One website.

After losing my land line for five days last week due to repercussions from a broken power line and incinerated telephone poll and because my bills were thirty-forty percent higher than the deal they offerred me, I decided to switch carriers last Friday. Now I've spent at least 3 & 1/2 hours on the phone repeating the same information to countless representatives, I have no ability to dial out and the rep said the problem was with my phones that were working just fine until they switched services.

She told me to disconnect the phones and wait 10 minutes and then reconnect them individually. I said, "well given the amount of time I've wasted on hold and repeating myself to various assorted reps and robo people, can you call me back in 15 minutes?" She said,"no we aren't allowed to do that." I said "great" and disconnected my phones and said, "Kryon please straighten this out."

Then the repair lady called on the cell like she supposedly wasn't allowed to do and said she found the problem. They neglected to turn the line on for touch tone dialing and it would take a couple hours to fix.

There's nothing like callin' on a magnetic master for electrical issues.

Arghhhhh

49. I'm truly sure he just loves being reduced to a repair dude.
We always used to joke in the kroom about "Kryon Auto Repair."

I had an idiot light come on last week indicating that I had a light out in my car so I stopped at Auto Zone and got out of the car to see which bulb had blown and they were all working, so I panicked because that meant it was a short which is far harder and much more expensive to diagnose and fix. I asked for his help on that one too and voila the idiot light went out. LOL

Do you think he might be getting sick and tired of my innane requests?

50. Hey, stella, you know so much more about Kryon than I do.
I have a question. I remember reading something on the Kryon site where Kryon says that the combined Kryon energy is feminine. Does everyone always call Kryon "him"? I wonder if I misunderstood what I read.

Either way, I'm sure that Kryon was happy to help you! You give so much and you ask for so little, dear stella. I'm sure that you are considered to be one of his/her most beloved humans given the work that you do to make a difference in the world.

51. Yup "he's" genderless
as are most spirits really as they are from a realm that is transcendant of dualism.

Many of the energies Kryon seems to carry: universal love, healing, wisdom, etc. we might associate with the divine feminine.

I was just being sloppily sexist. If Kryon was helpin' with my domestic duties, counseling, or mothering I'd probably use a feminine personal pronoun.

Thanks for the the kind affirmation.

As you well know, sometimes I tire and grow weary and depleted from the selfless service to humankind schtick but I really can't stop.

It's a peculiar creative process really. I'll post some writing and think, "there, I've done enough. Time to do somethin' for myself for a change." Then before I know it, yet another wave of writing engulfs and pours through me and I feel no alternative to sharing it.

It's kinda funny how I try to trick myself into taking a break when I really can't in these times for very long.

Oh well.

52. I am soooo tired of Mercury since he went direct
I look back on how happy I was in the beginning of Mercury rx and then see what's going on now and I laugh! I am so having computer problems - it's just since Mercury went back into Aquarius. I can't wait to see what sunday brings.

Well, I spent days and days getting my newsletter announcement ready to send out today. and guess what? After i sent out the first batch of emails, my mom reminded me that she bought tickets to a show on the night i'm supposed to do a teleclass! so I had to change the day and send out emails correcting the emails I just sent out. they went to all my new classmates in my coaching class.

  :puke: :puke:   :spank: :spank: :nuke: :nuke:

Then when my other website (the one I still have) froze sending out the next batch, I realized that I had put down two different times on the email! After having edited it and edited it. I am driving my webmistress nuts because she put up the info on the site and i keep finding stupid things that she has to change. (Wait a few days before going to www.9muses.biz and check out the coaching and classes links)

I think I am brain dead. I will find ways to make myself braindead tonight when my mom goes out to be in her play.

:toast: :toast: :toast:

I wish you were all here with me to play.

And yes, it's my Fountain of Dreams site. I am not paying $135.00 to get back the name. I'll think of another name .........sooon.

56. And Michael the Archangel too
I was having my computer act like an old dog and having lots of weird error messages, etc. I just asked OUT LOUD, "Michael, please straighten this computer out!"

Not only did it immediately stop putting weird errors and self-correct, but it brought me this incredible technician who has removed tens of thousands of temp files, cleaned up my disk, given me lots of free software including diagnostic tools and now the machine is screaming! wahoo.

57. It's really interesting to try these things when I'm trying to find a bug...
in my programming code. More often than not, I'll find the problem in a few minutes even though I'd been looking for hours before. (I should just go right to the asking, but I don't want to take advantage of my non-physical friends. Maybe it's not though.)

Glad to hear about your computer, Rick. We take them for granted until they stop working. It's sort of like electricity and running water.)

them sitting over our shouder being a bit frustrated, but enjoying their existance all the same, maybe even doing a little giggle or bet to see how long it might take the 3d'er to ask.
Some never do. I supose Michael and the rest go on eating chocolate covered strawberries, til next time.

Count me in. I had a hope, a faith, a wish that my screen problems would right themselves after the Merc shadow passed. So far so good. It was that crazy making kind where the bottom of the screen scrolls up. Impossible to work with the task bar or see anything full screen. Adjustments didn't help. Too freaky.

62. Thanks.
The top of the screen is still a little messed up. But overall, big improvement.

Hey. Did you catch the reference to chocolate dipped strawberries?
I think of them as divine. And haven't allowed myself that indulgence. I might not be able to stop.

And sorry to bring that up while you are losing weight like crazy and looking really spiffy in your skinny clothes.

Yes. I generally tend to be thin (another thread). Although since 01/07, I gained so much weight I could not get into my jeans. I sometimes fluctuate by 20 pounds, depending on what is going on. The last time was when I passed into what I believed was a coveted Crone distinction. Problem is, Crone is a very limited occupation.

When I was young, I could drop whatever pounds needed by going to bed hungry.
I've been on some medicine that makes me want to eat without end. Even getting up in the middle of the night to have a snack!

What kind of eating plan are you on to drop weight? (I'm big on names and never refer to "diets" or "budgets". We have eating and spending plans.

I know the best eating plan for my build and to enhance energy. I leave off as many carbs as I can. I can't fast on fruits and vegies due to low blood sugar. About 10 years ago, I felt so tired all the time. I had started going to school full time at the ripe age of "close to 40". I read three food books and put together a plan that works perfectly. Problem is maintaining it. Other than when I'm on meds that make me want to eat full time, I really don't care for eating.

Maybe you can start a thread on healthy eating. Would love to hear how ya'll do it.

64. I'm sitting here laughing my head off because, as I was reading this...
I was eating a piece of pie!

...but...but...but I'm not cheating because it falls within my Weight Watchers points for the day. :) I sacrifice nutrition for the required snack foods that absolutely must be part of every day.

My company has Weight Watchers at work, which is a really wonderful way to "do" Weight Watchers because it's so convenient. It works for me because of the weekly weigh-ins. Not wanting to feel humiliated when I get weighed helps me to stay on track.

For the most part, I'm eating quite well because my husband will not eat much that isn't "real food" (his words). Therefore, because he cooks, most of our evening meals are nutritious and good for me, but during the day, I have to have snacks. As long as I allow for them in my allotted number of daily points, it's OK. However, because there aren't many points each day, it's easy to use too many for non-nutritious calories.

In the past, I would get up in the middle of the night because the area around my solar plexus hurt. I had to have a snack to make it stop hurting. Now I take Zantac, so I no longer have that problem. It was very unpleasant at the time. I hope that you're able to get your night eating in control, although I know that it's not easy when medicine is causing the problem.

I'm a vegetarian, so it would be really difficult for me to give up carbohydrates. I know that it would be easier to lose weight if I could reduce my intake of them, but it's not really an option for me. (At least not without a great deal of work, and I tend to be pretty lazy.)

Oh well, the current plan is working pretty well. I think that I will continue without problems as long as we can get enough people where I work to attend the Weight Watchers sessions. (We have to have at least 15 people to be able to hold it there.)

Good luck with your efforts, vsm! :)

67. A few weeks ago
someone posted the flylady site here. When I went back to Eloreil's post about feng shui, I noticed she had posted the site as well. It's about getting your home in order. Which I work on a bit at a time. Could use a whole make-over . but whatever.

But flylady has a new book about dieting and eating. In her reminders, which come out many times per day, one of them, to go along with the diet book, is weighing oneself the first thing every morning. Can you think of anything more DULL? Do I want to face a scale, a measurement 'feature' first thing every day. No, I do not. I wait and depend on can I get into x-clothes or do I have to wear y-clothes.

The only time I get on a scales is when I go to the doctor's office. And they are always wrong.
But it is charted. All the same. So what. I'm wearing x or y clothes. If I go to z clothes, then, I wear a blindfold to the doc's office.

I admire your tenacity. Have heard wonderful things about WW. And seen some really good looking women who go through that. The group effort, I'm sure reinforces the self effort.

So, I see you didn't take my bait and start a thread. s'okay.

Maybe just to remind myself, here goes..
If I eat a fruit or have a bit of juice first thing in the am, that gives a push to get the eggs on. Then a bit of strawberries with the eggs. Lunch, lean chicken with a salad. THEN, for one hour (I learned this from the carb addicts diet book) I can eat ANYTHING. Potato soup is my fav for a wind me down meal, with bread even, and a sweet dessert. Before bed, a protein shake with more juice and strawberries. This won't work if you have a strawberry allergy :eyes:

Never hungry and full of energy and no apple gut. I'm not a pear. Have slim hips but the tummy thing.

Maybe I wanna talk about this to encourage me to eat healthier.

Read a book decades ago about eating only things that 'god' made. Ergo butter and bleu cheese dressing are included. Anything artificial is nix. I made my own bread and had energy to BURN.

We eat for fuel. Thanks for reminding me. I'm gonna go eat some crackers and carrots. yum!

Fuel should not hurt. VSM gets off little soap box.

What kind of pie? With chocolate chips? My passion is pineapple ice cream or sherbet. I make a killer coconut pie too. Now look what you've done!

68. I have a very dear friend who was on a real FlyLady kick a few years ago.
She really, really wanted the timer and feather duster that she sells. (I'm assuming that she still does, but maybe not.) I bought them for her for her birthday, and she was so excited. She still uses the feather duster, and really enjoys that aspect of cleaning now. (The other parts, not so much.)

I weigh myself every morning and every evening. That's what keeps me honest. When I weigh myself and I've lost weight, it inspires me to keep going. When I weigh myself and I've gained weight, it inspires me to get back on track. In reference to it being boring, I really don't have too much of an issue with such things. It's like brushing my teeth -- yet another necessary thing in the day. :)

My pie was a combined apple, cherry & apricot pie. In the end, it was probably not worth the calories. I won't be tempted by it now, so eating it was a good thing.

I'll start a thread about eating well, vsm.

But what a great gift for your friend. Very thoughtful of you.

I have to take a step back when you mention weighing. I'm a bit agog.

That sounds like an excelent pie!

We might have to start another thread about weighing twice a day.
But, I promise never to lobby against brushing teeth. :hide:

Do you include some time to feel great about yourself?
(we lecture about what we need to hear)

Twice a day?

Dream. I had weight problem. It started in high school. 30 odd years ago. An eating disorder actually. My mother was forever on a diet. I look at the photos now and ask her, why? You were skinny! She dieted herself into being overweight. To the point that she had problems walking long distances. I had a good friend who got stomach staples. She was lovealbe any way . any way.
It is all about feeling okay with yourself. Don't you think?
I have struggled with weight. I had a poor example. I am small by genetics. Average by size.

My 'normal' weight can go up to 135. I am at my best at 120. That's what feels right for me.
I encourage you to feel good for who you are.
Surely your weight fluctuates 5-10 pounds throughout the day. Water retainage.

I have had friends who really had trouble with their weight. I've been there. When I put on 20, which is way excess for me, I did not go on a diet or alter my eating plan. I was just . ya know. larger than I feel good about.

That's what it's all about. Feeling comfortable. I know larger women, and they are beautiful.
A thin woman can feel really lously about herself as well as someone with more weight.

I saw a recent photo of Cindy Sheehan today, and I think she as put on a little weight. Not bad for her. Glad she is eating.

We'll amend the thread you started, I hope, with what is body image any way.
This is something I face as an . ahem aged woman.
Does 'beauty' make it? Or how we feel about ourselves.
I miss Erma Bombeck at this juncture. She would have plenty to say about this.

Love yourself, is what she would say.

This line is selfish for me, but applies to most of us, doesn't it?
I have been too skinny. Not too rich or too skinny? Don't know about the rich, but too skinny, yeah, it happened.

I'm glad we're talking about this.

edit:
the most profound weight loss I had, after the Crone stage, was due to taking a homeopathic remedy. I lost 20 pounds in two weeks, without changing a thing. I had to drop a load of grief.
I have more grief now, and it clingson to my body.

These are messages for us.

59. Dear IHAD
I don't think the angels have a clue as to what we mean when we say, "we don't want to take advantage of them..." I'm sure they have the "option" of saying no.
Somehow, I think they delight in being addressed...tis their function.

60. Thanks, Rick. Yes, I'm learning this slowly.
It's funny; I think that I don't want them to ever get to the point where they consider me to be a nuisance. You know, something like Michael saying to Raphael "Raph, you wouldn't believe this co-dependent woman that just won't leave me alone. I think that I've enabled her." or some such thing.

Man, I must be the only person who worries about being a pain in the butt to the angels. I think that I need therapy. :(

63. I think they like to help and be of service. They want us to evolve.
The only time they are upset I would think is when we are stuck or back sliding.
But they are also wise enough to know that is part of the journey.

I have the serve or suffer theme in my natal chart, and I can tell you that I am happiest
when I am helping others and using my skills for the greater good. If I can't do that
then I am very bored and feel useless, and that can be bad. :(

Maybe it is the same for the angels.

65. I know that I have issues with receiving. I've always known it was true to a certain degree...
but it's becoming more and more apparent, and sometimes it gets so bad that I even end up hurting other people who want to give to me. It absolutely breaks my heart when I do this because the last thing that I'd ever want to do is hurt someone about whom I care. This issue is deeply entrenched in me, and I strongly suspect that it's past-life related. Hopefully, anyone that I've ever hurt because of this is able to sense this.

The angels and Ascended Masters are a good place for me to try to overcome this by asking for their help when I can.

Why does being human have to be so amazingly complicated? :(

Humans are complicated, and the lives they lead are very complicated.
That is how we learn and evolve.

This is an interesting topic, I too have a tough time letting others (humans)help me.

But I never think twice about asking angels or AMs to help me. I assume they are wired like I am, that they love to help and hate being useless and bored. I assume it makes them feel good, just like it does for me. Also I assume they know that providing service to others is a blessing, the good we do comes back to us for all eternity.

Maybe I am not explaining it very well, but helping others is just wired in, a default setting. Just like birds fly, fish swim, etc. Helpers help. And they get upset when they can't.

I think this is a good thing for you to work on Dream, letting the angels and AMs help.

I admit I don't ask for as much help as I should, I am very independent. :(

69. Well said everyone
And I don't think we can do anything that "upsets" them. That's a knock on their state which we can't possibly comprehend. Nevertheless, I'm sure they deal with all at all times with total compassion. If it works, ask. You're basically asking yourself for help in the first place. It's kinda like how I think about "prayer". Is it not really us affirming ourselves? Is it not just surrendering to the Holy Spirit?
