Had a series of very odd dreams last night, all with the same overall theme: things are shaking loose.
My dreams were of racial issues (I believe one of Obama's life tasks was to help us turn over the rock and actually look at all the creepy crawly things in American culture, namely racism, and that rock has certainly been flipped now); tropical storms (batten down the hatches and brace ourselves for a bumpy ride but it'll be over soon)--and it should be noted that people were not afraid but were in a good mood--they were helping each other tape up windows and nail up plywood; and my personal favorite, one where I was wandering through a lovely historical house (Regency era England--maybe because I had recently watched the BBC version of Jane Austen's Emma), looking at all the rooms, but there was one closet I didn't want to look in. I turned around and went the other way, but no matter which way I went, I ended up at that damned closet door. It turned out that the rooms were attached in a circle, around a kind of tiny rotunda, so I was always walking in a circle and always came back to the room with the closet. I didn't open the closet door in the dream, but I was laughing about being redirected to it constantly. Maybe I'll open up the door in a dream tonight, or another night in the near future.
Again, none of these dreams was negative in any way--they were all quite happy even though they dealt with ugly or frightening or dangerous events. Even the racially tinged dream turned out extremely positive. It was all very interesting.
