Come in and warm yourself by the fire. Sip on some cocoa...
and listen to my song. I hope it warms you up. http://www.imeem.com/ohbrotherray/music/zjVluWgx/steven_delopoulos_steven_delopoulos_jungle_trail/

Was tossed along that jungle trail
There was nothing there, just thorns and nails
Had no skin, no fur to wear
But I straggled through the storm
In a search to find my home

Now I climbed the mountain and I pleaded with the sky
There was no one around, just some dark clouds in reply
But I offered some berries and a tear in my eye
‘Cause I was on my own
So far away from home…home

Chorus:
There’s a fire burning inside me
Makes the lame walk and the blind to see
Here I am wandering on what I should be
The old earth, the moon, the sun
Some wings to rise the dawn

Now time’s tickin’ like a melancholy friend
Ticks the beginning, and the middle and the end
But if I close my eyes and just pretend
There’s shelter in this song
Like a river flowin’ home…home

1. Thanks for sharing
I'm continuing to listen to the other songs at that site. They're interesting -- contemplative, quiet, meaningful.
What do you mean your song?

3. a favorite song
hardly in the tone of this thread, but it popped right into my head

My analyst told me that I was right out of head
He said I'd need treatment, he said I'd be better dead
than live.
I didn't listen to his jive
I knew all along, he was all wrong.
Yeah, he thought I was nuts
No more ifs or ands or buts.

Hey, happy holidays. :-)

Weave and Mend
Sung by Frances Black
Lyrics by Mary Trup
Old woman is watching,
watching over you.
In the darkness of the storm,
she is watching.
She is weaving,
mending,
gathering the colours;
she is watching over you.

So weave and mend,
weave and mend.
Gather the fragments safe
and win the sacred circle, sisters,
weave and mend,
weave and mend,
oh women,
weave and mend.

Old woman is weaving,
gathering the threads.
Her bones become the
loom she is weaving.
She is watching,
weaving,
gathering the colours.
She is watching over you.

For years I've been watching,
waiting for old woman.
Feeling lost and so alone,
I've been watching.
Now I find her weaving,
gathering the colours.
Now I find her in myself.

I have often said that there will be many midwives in our lives to lead us through the transformations of time but we will only ever have one mother. Mine is precious to me.

Butterflies have always been a symbol of transformation for me. The caterpiller spins itself into its silky solitude to contemplate the dreams of the butterfly in flight. To realize that dream, it must die to what it once was. If it has the courage and strength to break through the tightly woven cocoon with its delicate wings, the wind carries it into the heights to see new vistas.

5. What a beautiful song and gorgeous imagery!
It takes me awhile to download videos, so I only just got to this. Thanks so much for sharing it.
Are you a weaver?

I'd never heard that song.
At first I thought it might be an old Scottish or Irish song that I think has the same title...or at least has the words 'weave and mend' in it. On second thought, the words were "weave and spin" and that one is called Aragon Mill, a hauntingly sad song about the closing of mill in a small town. Aragon Mill is by Si Kahn.

6. hee...
I am more of a story weaver than a literal one! I love the images too, though. My dad for a long time had a dream of trying to build a loom, he got as far as a small version, but he tends to give up before he realizes the vision come true....

funny, I could say the same about myself! lol

regarding the song: my daughter loves it! she is a real wisdomkeeper, even at her young age. though it shouldn't be surprising these new kids coming in are such little wise ones!

Thanks for this thread!
