Vivid color dreams, Passed relatives and Doors.
I was having an intense dream this morning and my 2 aunts who have passed showed up in cameo appearances. My one aunt (who passed recently) and all the other people in my dream were in color, but the colors were muted and soft, which is how I usually see dreams. We hear a knock on the door and go to it and it's my Aunt Alma, who passed when I was about 13yo. In the dream, I knew she had passed and knew that I 'shouldn't' be seeing her - especially as healthy, young and robust looking as she was. She was clearer and in much brighter vivid colors. I feel so lost because the alarm sounded at that time before I had a chance to talk with and I feel like there was something I missed.

I've had a couple similar dreams in the past where passed relatives have been involved, but I truly could count the instances on one hand for my entire 45 yrs of life. It dawned on me this morning when I was telling my daughter, that with each one of those 'prophetic' type dreams, the relative has walked thru a door to talk to me. I can't help having this feeling that this was one that got interrupted.

My first dream like that there was a knock on the door in my dream and when I answered it, the brightest whitest light I've ever seen shown thru. In the light there was a deep male voice (I think it was my father), that said they were bringing me a gift basket (all blue baby stuff). I told them that they had the wrong person, it must be for my sister-in-law (who was pregnant with twins). The voice told me that there was no mistake and that I would be needing those items in time. Six mo. later, I was pregnant - with a boy.

The second dream like that, I was having some female issues and was undergoing some hormone treatment. The dream was myself in a hospital examination gown looking thru a window in a door. I can see there are 3 women in the same type of gowns there talking about someone who has just been diagnozed with cancer but doesn't know it yet. The one grey haired lady says "Oh, I know she'll be fine and she'll be happy again." Then the lady gets up and come out thru the door and it's my grandmother. The other 2 ladies in the room were my Aunt Alma and my mother. I asked who they were talking about, and they said me. The next day I called the doc and rescheduled my appointment to the earliest available date. I wasn't done the hormone treatment yet, but asked that the doc give me another endo biopsy. The results were delivered to me on my mother's birthday. I ended up having cancer surgery the day that my original treatment followup appointment was scheduled.

The only other time I can remember a dream was one that I had after a strange experience in the middle of the night. I was woken up by a buzzing/static crackling sound as if it was moving up my body as I lay in bed. I laid awake for a long time, but finally drifted off to sleep again. When I went to sleep, I dreamed that I got up out of bed and saw a pink rose hanging mid-air in a beam of light. I could also hear music. I thought it was coming from the rose, but it was coming from downstairs. I walked out my bedroom door and into our foyer and came to stand in front of a huge mirror. In the mirror, I saw my mother walk out of nothingness with a happy smile on her face. She was dressed in the gown that she wore to my wedding and looked the same. The mirror was between us so I couldn't talk to her, but I could see she was happy. I said "You're happy Mom?" She shook her head 'yes' and faded away.

I guess what I'm asking is does anyone else experience these things this way, and what is it with doors?

1. What amazing powerful dreams!
thank you for sharing them. I belive the doorways represent the passage between the physical world we ar e in and the world of spirit. They are on the other side of the veil and in a different state of being as indicated by your dreams of doorways and your Mother's spirit on the other side of the looking glass.

I have not had dreams with doorways. When I dream of my dead Dad we are doing things normally like he is alive like other family in the dream when I suddenly remember hey he's dead! He isn't supposed to be here! Then I know it is a dream and just enjoy the fact he popped in for a visit.

Woodsprite have you had more than one of those crackling experiences since it first happened? I am curious as that is one of the possible signs of kundalini awakening that I have read of. I believe mine is active so I am dreadfully curious about others experiences. please feel free to not reply if you don't wish to share though.

2. No, I only experienced static like that the one time.
I'm kinda glad too, because it scared me to death! I was afraid what would happen if the crackling sound finally reached my head. It sounded so loud to me, like it was encompassing my body. Neither my dog or my hubby stirred - and they were right next to me. I layed awake for a long time after that because I was afraid it would happen again.

I'm not familiar with what you mentioned (kundalini awakening), so I'll have to look at that.

As for dreams about dead relatives, the ones I've mentioned are the only ones I've really had. They were really vivid and really intense - they stand out and stay with me. I usually don't dream about relatives other than my immediate family, and those are sometimes mundane things or really off-the-wall strange, like I've added up all my thoughts over the day and they all come together in the mishmosh of my dream.

4. The dreams of my Dad are hyper-real. Everything is more real than real life
Colors more vivid, even the air almost has a pearlesent shine to it. Sometimes that is enough to get to realize I am dreaming but usually it is something like suddenly remembering my Dad died years ago that makes it lucid.

Like you most of my dreams are mundane with lots of weirdness on top of everyday stuff like my life was thrown into a blender with a big dollop of bizzare & weird to get the dream. Those and the dreams of drowning when I have a head cold only to wake up from the panic to find my nose stopped up.

Your experience might be Kundalini or it could be as another suggested that it is the beginnings of an OOB experience. I haven't had one that I am aware of and am having Kundalini so that is why K sprang to mind for me.

3. Hi, Woodsprite.
I've had similar dreams but instead of the door, it's the telephone, which like Shallah says, is I think my personal veil between worlds. The most recent call was from my husband's ex-wife who died almost 5years ago. She called and told me some heartfelt things, then asked to speak to her daughter who was obviously listening to advice. I could tell from the responses of, "Okay," "I will," "I won't," and "I'll remember." That week, 4 years after her mom passed, my step-daughter and I started to draw closer. I can't help but believe that we shared this experience of communicating with her mom in one dream.

The most memorable telephone dream was from about 13years ago, when I was still living in Maryland. I dreamed of looking into the sky as a gigantic hand was writing something in the clouds, while trying to decipher the strange script, the telephone rang and I could have sworn that I woke up to answer it - a dream within a dream. The was call from someone I don't know in reality but who I obviously know and respect in dreamland. He told me to get ready because some visitors were on their way to my house. It turned out to be 3 people I didn't know, a man who I was immediately attracted to, a middle aged very virile and serious Native American man, and a Native American woman who kept appearing and disappearing. The NA man asked to be taken upstairs to a particular room where we sat in a circle, and he broke out a peace pipe. I didn't want to smoke it but the other guy laughed (he was always laughing) and said, "Don't worry, it's okay." After one toke and being so high, I saw myself, like in a movie, experiencing all kinds of situations with the attractive man. When I came down, they thanked me for my time and left.

Well, a few months later my sister and I moved to California and we met the guy in the dream, a friend of a friend in Maryland sent him over to make sure we were okay, since we were still living in a hotel 2 months after our big move. We hit it off immediately and besides some of the imagery that came to pass, like one with Ike Turner of Ike & Tina Turner (), I was soon blown away when he produced a peace pipe and blessed tobacco he'd gotten at a Pow Wow. Then he surprised me one night shortly in our first year when we went to a comedy club and it turned out he performed stand-up, as a hobby. Hence, his constant laughter in the dream.

As far as the buzzing crackling sound, I always have these just before and coming back from an out of body experience. When I first started having them as a teen, I got Robert Monroe's books describing his OBEs, in which he describes these sounds associated with OBEs. So I've assumed it is the condition of the brain adjusting to or from the frequency of an altered state.

I really appreciate your accounts, they are truly beautiful and uplifting to me. :) Thanks!

5. What great dreams. The last sounds like an out of body experience.
You clearly have a strong and wonderful connection to your ancestors. Do you keep an altar for them? That's a fantastic way to strengthen that connection even more and you can ask them for help and advice when you need it.

8. I don't have an altar dedicated to them, but
Edited on Wed Jan-07-09 02:10 PM by woodsprite
my house is filled with items that belonged to them. I do talk to them and ask for guidance if I'm particularly troubled about something.

The feeling I woke up with from this last dream about my aunt left me with the same feeling that I had the moment my mom passed - like my heart got a hug and I felt like I was brimming with joy. I know that sounds strange, but I can't think of any other way to explain it. It was a much more fulfilling and meaningful 'hug' than one on the outside of the body.

9. How wonderful your hearts could touch again :-)
I am empathic so I feel people in my heart when I hug them. In my Dad dreams I would feel him in my heart like when I hugged him in life which as I didn't feel anyone else that way in the dream nor was I hugging him in the dream I knew it was a special dream

6. These are amazing!
You're so fortunate to have them. :)

Thanks for sharing them with us. I've never experienced anything like this. I very rarely remember my dreams, and they're usually very mundane except for one case.

7. Probably someone else can answer the symbolism of the doors but I can
attest to the deceased showing up younger and in robust health. I feel when they do, then it's really them. I dreamed of my mother recently and her mother my grandmother. Both were in the prime of life. I remember actually counting up my mother's age if she had lived to today and she would have been 88. She was talking about having to cut the visit short because she had to go back to work. I had said something about wasn't it time that she retired at her age of 88? She smiled and said that both she and abuelita (grandma) still worked because they liked to. Then we talked about many things going on with me like we hadn't seen each other in a long time and she left.
